Sag_77
How many of you seal the wick in? I am trying to find the best way to do this. I have normally just put the wick in bent it over and done. I have recently had people complain that they can remove the wick. Now I could seal the wick in using the same griddle thing I use to level my pillars. It is just time consuming and I don't see a difference in the quality. Just wanted to see what the normal is, TIA.
Glowlite
Apperantly your not using wick tabs. Might want to think about getting some of those.
Sag_77
I am using wick tabs with votives, all my wicks are pretabbed when bought. But they are saying the whole assembly is falling out the bottom.
AngelaVA
This is what I do: Heat the tab up with a lighter and then use the butt-end of the lighter to push the tab into the votive. The hot tab melts the wax around it and it stays in place. Takes all of 2 seconds.
Sharon in KY
People... So it comes out, just push it back up and put it holder. Or wait till it's in the holder to straighten wick. I haven't had a complaint but I'm sure it's cause I only sell a few and they are special requests. I have done a drizzle over pour and that locks in the wick at the top. Glowlite
I used to use the zinc cores that came assembled and always had to give it an extra crimp to make sure the wick was tight.
Scented
And I haven't had to mess with mine at all. Just push it in.
Crafty1_AJ
I just take that crimped wick tab collar and shove it up into the bottom of the candle. It sinks right into the wax and holds.
bugtussle
I'm with Angela V, we always use a lighter, both ends. Works great.
Jeana
And I haven't had to mess with mine at all. Just push it in.Me too. I can feel I am pushing it into the wax when I do it. I think you can get wider wick tabs. I guess you'd have to re-tab all of them before you sell them. It still doesn't make sense though. Why does any one care if it comes out when the whole thing is going to sit in a votive holder anyway?
Sag_77
Thank-you all, you have been very helpful!I have no idea why they can't just put it back in and be done. Ooooh that would be so hard. I might just have to try the lighter trick.
