AngelaVA
Looking to see what vanilla FO everyone uses in their B&B. I tried some of JS Ultimate Vanilla in a body spray and lotion this weekend. In the body spray it just isn't what I'm looking for (too foody, I guess). So, any recommendations? I'm looking for a pretty straight vanilla, maybe a little sugary, but not musky. Thanks! sudsnwicks
For B&B, I use Peak's vanilla passion. Its description says there is a musk note in there but I haven't been able to detect it, neither have those who tell me they dislike musk. The floral notes in there are very light, I think it makes the foody smell go away rather than make it smell flowery.
Tallbabydoll
I know you said that your looking for a straight vanilla, in which case I'd probably try Peaks French Vanilla. Personally I LOVE Warm Vanilla Sugar, I also really like Pink Sugar, but thats not vanilla lol I just like it in B&B products.
kathleen
Lots of people are using Vanglia del Madagascar. I know Scent Works, Daystar, and Oldtimer and Lily carry it. I like the smell, but it turns soap almost black...so I sold mine off!
Michi
I definitely do not think of vanilla passion as being anywhere near a straight vanilla, it almost smells like St. Joseph's baby aspirin to me. LOL And the french vanilla is pretty foody (can't stand this one either) and kinda funky IMO. LOLI agree the JS UV is too foody for B&B IMO, I just got her Silky V Vanilla, and though I haven't tried it in any B&B as of yet, it's pretty dead on a straight vanilla IMO. I guess I'm really picky about vanillas, and have really been on a search for a "good" one. I know that everyone's sniffer is different, so maybe put a ISO of in the classifieds. I can send you an ounce or two of the silky v if you're interested.

I smelled this in a tart that a friend made and it was great, but that was a while ago and I don't have any to put in some lotion. I'll PM you now. Thanks! lindsaycb
Vaniglia from SW all the way. I'm not a vanilla fan, but this stuff is delicious. Great in scrubs & sprays.Scentbyspirit has some for sale in the classifieds. It turned my soap a deep brown, just like vanilla beans. I don't mind it at all. Grumpy Girl
Is there any vanilla that doesn't turn CP a deep brown that's worth buying? I'd love to scent with vanilla and speckle with pure ground vanilla as an alternative.
