angelcandles
I'm having a hard time wicking my soy wax and I think one of my CDs is looking good. The flame is a bit high (1 inch) but it isn't burning too hot to hold the jar and it is reaching a very near FMP on the second or third burn, with some hang up. One thing is though, when I pick up the jar and sort of swing it from side to side I sometimes get a little poof of soot coming off the wick. Is a little soot normal? Is having no soot achievable? TallTayl
Occasional puffs when air is disturbed is normal. Puffs throughout a burn like a dragon breathing, or a tall stack of black trails is a little too much. if the jar continues to burn cleanly with no collection of black around the rim to the end you have a good system going there. Good luck! 1
kandlekrazy
It looks pretty good in the last pic, I don't see soot. That hangup could be airflow causing wick to burn to 1 side or could be off center hard to tell in pic. If you move while burning you most likely will see a bit of smoke or soot.
ErronB
I'd be more concerned about it when you get near the bottom, that's where you get the flame having difficulty and can smoke easily.
