Lummers
So I'm thinking of switching over to GB464, not really familiar with the wax, and I'm wondering if you guru's out there can perhaps guide me a little on a few things - how's the HT/CT - pouring temps around 135F i'm assuming - frosting? Containers I'm using are - 11oz Heights - 3 1/2" Diameters - 3 1/4" Thinking of using HTP - 104/HTP - 1212 (maybe too large?) Any pointers is greatly appreciated, thanks! jbradshaw
I'm by no means an expert but all I use is 464 and I've had great HT and CT on the majority of FOs I've tried (at 6%). As a relative beginner, I'm impressed by the wax if I can get a good throw with little experience. I pour at 135. I did notice that when I've burned a candle, the melt pool as it cools looks frosted, but I haven't had any frosting yet other than that. Sorry I can't suggest a wick, I've been using CD wicks. Moonstar
It was suggested to me to pour at 150 - 152. I like how the tops look pouring at 150.
birdcharm
I haven't had any frosting issues with it either -- I agree with Moonstar, it does seem to make for better top surfaces poured at about 150 degrees -- at that temperature, I rarely have to use a heat gun or do a top pour, unless my house is cold or there are other variables or issues. Lummers
Appreciate everyone's input so far! I'm assuming the FO goes in at 180 degrees? Thanks for the tip on the pouring temp, I'll make a note of the 150 degrees as well for smoother tops. Any suggestions for Wicking?
