I would suspect unless you are using a blend that completely pulls away from the tin it would be hard to get out, since tins have no give like in the plastic clams where you can sort of 'push' the wax out. 

But as Candy said, that shouldn't happen, unless you are using a blend that is too soft for clams.

I have only used container waxes in clamshells.

Clams are made of either PVC or PET (I think those are the 2 types of plastic). If you tried the other type of plastic you MIGHT get a different result.
