CandleAddict_RN
Not sure if this was the proper place to post this question. I want to post a bunch of FO for sale in the classifieds but have never shipped them out before. Can they be shipped via USPS or must they be sent via UPS ground due to the flashpoint? I was looking on both websites but still unsure. :undecided
B@BlissStreet
You can ship them USPS, just be sure to label the box and alert the carrier that it contains liquids.
CandleAddict_RN
Thanks! So just mark that it contains liquids?
Guest OldGlory
You might want to check with your post office. They can tell you what the restrictions are.
ProudMarineMom
I thought the flashpoint had to be > 200 degrees in order to be shipped by USPS. At least, that is the guideline I always follow.
ChrisR
When I sell FO's I send them Parcel Post and not priority because of the flash point. My Post Office makes me put candle oils on the boxes. Putting just 'liquid' on the package is not legal, as they are combustible.
CandleAddict_RN
Thanks for the replies! I will double check with my local post office and will ship the safest way. Unfortunately, it may not be the cheapest way but will try my best.
TallTayl
Visit the USPS site for packaging instructions and shipping restrictions based on flash point.http://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52apxc_011.htmhttp://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52apxc_012.htmThe requirements for shipping, package labeling and packaging vary by the lowest flashpoint of material in the package.Every post office may interpret the rules differently. Knowing exactly what you are shipping, and being able to explain that succinctly goes a long way toward success.
