Ash2234
Hi!I am trying to decide what kind of jars to use for 16 oz candles. Do you use tall or short jars? I like the style of the short ones better but they are so short I'm having a hard time wicking it.
rjdaines
I am using an apothecary that looks like the first jar, it holds about 14 oz of wax and I double wick it.
Ash2234
Oh cool! I was wondering about double wicking. I may give that a try then.
dragonstreasures
You do not have to double wick the Apothecary jars. You can use a single Zinc 60 44 18 with those and it works great for me. Minimal if no sooting and all the wax burns out of the jar. Unless of course you are using 4627....... I have had some FO burn down the center with that wax when experimenting. LOL! Edited December 6, 2012 by dragonstreasures
JI
I use a 16 oz jar like the top photo and double wick. I have tried unsuccessfully tonsingle wick but I have never tried zinc. My customers seem to like the double wick.

jeanie353
I use a jar similar to that but think the neck is a little lower looking at the pic. Using CBL125 I single wick with an Eco 10 with most FOs. It is 3 5/8" wide. Using a 50/50 blend of CBL130/CBL125 it took an Eco 12.
JI
I use 444. Love it. Also I do not dye. I add a little uv inhibitor.
LynnS
I use the 16 ounce Country Jar and I believe the size of my apothecary is 16 ounce.I double wick the apothecary and single wick the Country jar with a large wick size.I like these jars and no problem in wicking.Of course it took some testing but about all my scents I have work with the jars as far as no tunneling. For a smaller attractive jar I use the 9 ounce classic jar.In this area they dont sell but I still carry it.Then I use the basic 8 ounce JJ.That size is our seller.LynnS
