Less than 1/4 of an inch

Recommended Posts

I prefer a wick trimmed less than 1/4". But for my candles that I sell I prefer the wick to be trimmed at 1/4" and not any less. There have been times when I made some candles that are slightly concave and needed a heat gun to the top. If I had trimmed the wick to 1/8" the wick would have disappeared.

Also, I have had customers go home and trim the wick and come back and tell me the wick is too short to light. Go figure! You just never know what might happen. So I learned the hard way over the years not to trim them shorter than a 1/4".
