  1. I do not know what this scent smells like..but I highly recommend the Pepper and Port from Candle Cocoon. It's a new scent and is skin and soap safe..and does wonderfully in candles and holds well on airfreshener blanks too! I use it in EL Container at 4.5%. It rocks.. I do hope BCN makes it right for you all!
  2. I only choose FO's that will burn well in EL soy the next day..I get A LOT of made to order requests. They of course get better with days..but they MUST throw in 24 hours. Every oil I pour from Candle Cocoon does. I use a few from ICS and Elements as well.
  3. I mix CC's Lemon Blossom and Vanilla Voodoo with several other scents and each other.
  4. Cd(n)'s, used to use HTP's have also used Cotton and Paper core and RRD's... In EL Container or Votive. Tested C3 with HTP's and they did fine together..so I'd assume CD(n)'s would be fine in it too. Do they call it CB3 now..is it a slightly different formulation?
  5. I wipe them out with a kitchen towel...I had wick tabs coming undone...never had that before..thought it might be some kind of machine grease/film...so just started the quick wipe...seems to work....haven't had any wick stickers unstick since.
  6. Vanilla~ Vanilla Voodoo at Candle Cocoon.. I don't use a cinnamon anymore.. But I do use Cinnamon Vanilla from Elements. It's a very popular scent this time of year.
  7. Yes, 2 days... So in a week if you are not getting any hot throw..there is a problem somewhere. Either the oil itself, or the process of the candle making... If the wax the OP is using is not throwing anything...something is wrong. It is possible that she's over loading her wax too....that will sometimes be a problem in proper scent throw..in candles more isn't always better.
  8. How come it takes me to my own shopping cart at Amazon... LOL how'd you get that. Um yes pretty brittle wax.. the soft still warm almost set might work..but I'm guessing the "mold" that's on amazon would be the best idea.
  9. And I have never made a candle from paraffin.. But I do believe they need a cure time(or so my paraffin pouring friends tell me)..so I'd guess that any soy with paraffin in it MUST have a cure time.
  10. I beg to differ...I use EL container and Votive...I don't have to cure a single candle a week to get a throw.. I don't chose a FO that won't throw in my waxes in 2 days. I used to use HTP wicks and have switched to CD(N)'s..but I started with cotton and paper core wicks, even played with RRD's in soys. Admittedly, I have not tested any of the soys that have been introduced on the market past C3 when it was brand new.(quite a few years ago) So I have no idea what they all act like. I just speak from over 10 years using EL waxes with nothing added to them for throw help. Just FO...don't even dye them. I use mostly Candle Cocoon Oils at far less a rate than many. I also use several from Element B&B, ICS and even Oregon Trails. Those I use at 6% tops.
  11. You can never judge a FO completely by it's OOB (out of bottle) smell. Most definitely it needs to be put in something to get what it really is supposed to be. um....most of my 1 oz...if I didn't like them...collect dust... LOL Some times I revisit them...and I've changed my mind and like them..
  12. Drop the percent you use of the Lemon Blossom..no need for a lot ...4.5% max even in soy.. I actually pour it at 3% in EL wax. No floral...It's like a lemon drop or lemon head lemon..puckery lemon.
  13. Lemon Blossom from Candle Cocoon.. I love it straight..with her Fairy Dust and Twinkle Toes (grapefruit) and with Vanilla Voodoo for Lemon Creme..with straight Strawberry for Strawberry Lemonade, with straight Blueberry for Blueberry Lemonade..

    Portion Cups

Interesting ingredients list..I've used them to pour a few samples in..well Dixie portion cups and forgot all about them a year later...Sucked all the scent right out.. LOL That would be cool if these did not.
  15. Candle Cocoon's...it's super powerful..I use it at 3% in EL Container...My friend credits it to selling her house.
  16. Is it possible that Miss Lauren has a bad case of candle nose? (I do that with coffee scents. I can't smell the coffee in candles..I love the smell of coffee! But I don't pick it up in my candles.) Are you letting someone else test burn your candle under strict instruction in their home? I don't know how all of you do this wax blending. I'd not have the patience for that. I use Enchanted Lites Container..the original. I've been using it for over 10 years. Started with and tested others...along the way..but stay with EL..from case to case it's the most consistent wax I've found over all these years. I don't dye..I understand that soy has a mind of it's own and has it's quirks. I only use oils that throw in it. And I mean if it doesn't scent most of my house(house is small) in a tiny jelly jar tester..I don't waste my time. If it doesn't throw the next day after pouring..I don't go further. However, all that said..I don't put candles on shelves in stores..I don't have a web site....I sell to a very small select group..and gift more than I sell. I think you may have overwhelmed yourself at this point. I'd pull back..pick one wax...pick a few of your favorite scents and go from there.
  17. HTP's work very well in EL waxes. I've switched to CD's and CDN's..as they work well in EL Container. And Candle Cocoon carries them..which is where I get 90% of my oils and my wax. I had to look and see which jar Peaks was selling.. It's the wide mouth. I'd say at least a 93, but with some oils you may need a 104/105. In CDN, a 16 or 18. But that is my opinion with EL waxes only..not blended...no clue there..
  18. Most definitely that wick is to big..interesting that it came with the kit for those jars, wax, blah blah blah.. That is a melt pool that should have been created after 3-4 hours of burning..still a little deep even for a 4 hour burn on an almost full jar.
  19. Funny I stuck it up to my nose and wrinkled it immediately..it was over powering.. so my husband said "why do you do that?" I said what make a funny face?..he said, "no pick up store candles, you know they are awful".. LOL I said I do it to see why the shelves are clearing of these scents..I know it's mostly because they are marketed really well...have coupons and are pretty cheap.
  20. Check out Elements Fall Harvest...it's apple and pumpkin..but no spice.. I also use CC's Spiced Apple Pie and Pumpkin Coffee. Perfect Pumpkin from WYW was my MOST favorite scent followed by Leah's Pumpkin Cheesecake..but sadly neither are selling oils any more..
  21. That's a pretty good price..even with the 1000 unit price break Specialty Bottle isn't that price.
  22. last year about this time I did some figuring... I can make 8oz quilted jelly jars for $2.55 for all the materials and pint jelly jars for $4.35. I buy the jars at Walmart. I don't use dye. I buy 12" wicks and get 2-3 candles from them. Small cost for more wick tabs. I make my own hang tag and candle lable. I buy warning labels. I use yarn or twine to attach hang tags. I included the shipping of my case of wax as the "total" cost of the wax per pound and then per ounce. I do the same for FO..and use my top costing FO as my per tenth ounce FO price. I make my candles in small batches...2 8oz jars or 1 pint. So my time invested is much higher than those that "mass" produce. I pull in a pretty fair profit for my market..but I only sell to a very select group.
  23. If you have CD 10 or 12 I'd start there in CD's. I've never worked with ECO's so don't want to give you a suggestion there.. If you want to triple wick "maybe" the 10's, but they do 2" melt pools pretty well in EL Container..But I think CB and C3 is a little tougher than EL..never tried 415 either.
