  1. Did you get a chance to try this with high heat? I am wondering if it will do better than the whipped shea butter. Thanks Freda
  2. I have tried many of the closeouts. The Pumpkin pie is incredible. I thought the Lily weak, but then I don't like Lily. I had bought a Lilac and Lily on closeout, that has been a favorite for many of my customers. So I thought maybe the Lilac and Lily on closeout combined might work. The ones I bought recently that I really loved is the Heavenly Honey Dew, Strawberry Magarita, (that one is really incredible, very strong) and have been using Lemon Bundt Cake for quite a while. Love that one too. And just recently Fresh Outdoors. I think this one is very good too. Even though they are cheap in price, the quality is still really good. Some of the closeouts became best sellers for me, which is rough when you run out:angry2: Good luck, I don't think you will be disappointed. Freda
  3. I have used this supplier for a couple of years, and really like their scents. I particularly like their Warm Vanilla Sugar. It is right on to BBW. A lot of their scents are lotion safe. I have used Baby Powder, Plumeria, Gardenia, Sun Ripened Raspberry, Hot Fudge Brownie, Passionate Kisses, those are a few I can think of right off the top of my head. I have not been disappointed in any I have bought from there. Freda
  4. What is the consistency of this? Like a cream? And would it work better in heat then a regular whipped butter? I am looking for a fluffy cream that wouldn't melt so easily when shipped. Think this would be worth a try? Thanks Freda
  5. Another question, how does everyone ship whipped shea? So it doesn't melt?
  6. Thanks, but they are wanting more light and creamy. They loved the whipped butter, but I can't see any way that it won't melt back down. Anyone have a shea cream recipe?
  7. I spent one day lately going back and forth between www.gotbottles.com and www.containersandpackaging.com After I had talked to both, I finally figured out they are sister companies. the gotbottles has free shipping, but are sometimes are higher. Some things have a high minimum. But I happen to be looking at a large bulk, but super cheap. I am waiting on samples to see if their stuff compares to what I have been getting. The other one I found that has a huge variety is www.qosmedix.com. The site is hard to navigate, I think, but they have some incredible buys. I have no idea about customer service at any of these, haven't gotten that far.
  8. Oops, sorry. I had shea on the brain. Freda
  9. I have been making whipped shea butter for a couple of years, but am needing a light shea cream, something that wouldn't 'die' in the heat, but still have some of the attributes of the whipped butter as far as the moisturizing, smooth feel. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  10. www.soaperschoice.com Has refined and unrefined for less than $5.00. They are part of Columbus Foods, so sell in all quantities, 10# to whatever. Mike Lawson is very helpful, too, to answer questions.
  11. Here's another if you are looking at double walled. http://www.gotbottles.com
  12. Is that sale still on? I am wanting to try a few different scents.
  13. I have been using Fresh Linen Closeout from BCN. I am out, and of course people love that scent. Any suggestions of a really good Fresh Linen or a comparable fresh scent? Thanks Freda
  14. I usually use about 5 drops an ounce, with a dropper in a small glass amber bottle. It is the recomended amount from my fragrance supplier. They usually recommend 1% usage, to be safe. I use a little less or more depending on the concentration of the fragrance, but that seems to work for me as a rule of thumb. If a supplier is recommending an ounce of fragrance per pound of wax, (kind of the way I figure the concentration), then I figure it is a normal strength and use the 5 drops per ounce of body product. I make up all sizes of product, from .25 ounce to 16 ounce. I mix in the bottle, if it is at least 2 oz. I fill out of a gallon jug with a pump to about half full, add fragrance and coloring, if they want it, then fill to about 3/4. I cap, put in microwave for JUST A VERY FEW SECONDS, shake, then finish filling and finish shaking. Probably not ideal, but it has worked for us for the last couple of years. I have found from past experience, not to overfill and not to heat too long. I have had to mix without the microwave, but it is harder. Hope that helps. freda
  15. Thanks, I hadn't heard that before. It would sure beat waiting for it to cool enough to whip. I might try a small batch I appreciate your help. Freda
  16. I make up two kinds of foaming soap, one anti bacterial hand soap and one aloe body wash. I use two different kinds of pumps, one tall and slender, one shorter and broader. EAch pump requires a different ratio of soap to water. So I am thinking the pumps mix it differently. I tried the same ratio for both and it did not work. So I don't think it is the soap so much as the pump. I think you could pick up a bulk shower gel somewhere, mix it according to directions, (believe me, they mean it too). I use BCN's hand soap, and body wash. WSP has the shorter pumps, and I get the taller ones from Essentials of Catalina. But I see more and more people are coming out with them. freda

  18. Thanks, I am talking whipped butter. That was my thought, a restaurant mixer. The way I do it now is small batches, large pyrex measuring cup in a big pot, then whip by placing in a large bowl of ice water. Not sure how to do all that with a big commercial mixer. I was wondering if the shea butter could be heated in a roaster pan on low heat, any ideas? Thanks Freda
  19. Have you tried Bittercreek's North Body/hair mist? It is very nice, and I have not had trouble with scents seperating. Freda
  20. Does anyone have any suggestions for making large batches of body butter? I am thinking a commercial mixer, but not sure about heating. I am thinking about 25 pound batches. I would appreciate any help.
  21. I've been using BCN's Aloe body wash too, same problems but I really like it otherwise. But I too am looking for a thicker, silkier bath gel. I too was wondering about the suspending shower gel and how it took fragrance. I am knew to this board, but been on another for a few years, I sure appreciate all the help everyone gives out. I am also looking for a good deal on the 8 ml sprays, plus a smaller if anyone knows of any. I had found a good site once, then accidently lost it. I am looking for large quantities and really cheap. The same as the foils. And some kind of bottle that could be clipped to a belt to hold hand sanitizer. Thanks in advance..
  22. I think Jade from BCN is a fresh smell, but not that soapy smell. Also liked by men or women.
  23. We have made and used these for about three years. My husband loves them. Although, they do not really smell much when burning in a fireplace, but they make an excellent fire starter. And they have never made a mess, either. We use wood chips, my brother-in-law has a saw mill. We also use left over wax, and melt down wax left over in jars.
  24. I buy big tubs of the wipes from Wally world. I love those things. I also wipe out with a paper towel, then finish off with a wipe. It nuetralizes the scent pretty quickly.
  25. Hi, I haven't posted much on here, but have been reading posts for quite some time. I love message boards, and tend to get kind of crazy reading. Unfortunately, I can't make product, or sell it, from my computer:grin2: Talking about shipping versus driving, I have been trying for the last couple of years to find someone that carries wax in the near Iowa. Does any one care to share some information, if they know of a supplier? BCN and WSP are a good 8 hours for me one way, so it doesn't pay. I use J223, 1334, EZ Soy and 4794. And shipping glassware is really killing me. I would really appreciate any info.
