  1. Does anyone know if they exist or if there are any jars similar to them that are greater than say 6 ounces?
  2. I use the name badges that you can get locally staples or office depot. They fit perfect and they go on sale pretty often. HTH
  3. I use the one from RE and love it. It smells great and has a very strong cold and hot throw. HTH
  4. Using a little CO with the 6006 will help with wet spots. Both waxes in my blend have a tendency towards wet spots but once I started adding a touch of the CO they are almost never a problem. I do warm my jars though. In the last couple of batches that I did in a new jar that I have been experimenting with I ommitted it just to see if it made that big of a difference and guess what...they're back. I do have to say though, it is getting colder here so the temperatue change could also be part of it. Also, with the 6006 I have to use a higher fo load to get the ct/ht that I want but overall this is one of my favorite waxes.
  5. I use 6006 as part of my main blend and really love it... I use zincs though for the most part. The guidelines that Horsescents gave you should get you pretty close if you go that route. I wish I could help you with the other wicks.
  6. Good morning Jeanie, I just got saddle shop from daystar a couple weeks ago and it is awesome. You have to be careful though, a little goes a long way.
  7. I do have cds and will give them a try as well. I just put 2-51Z wicks in last night and an going check them today. I think they are going to be to much but we'll see. I got a pretty deep Mp with the 32's so logically I wouldn't go up, but maybe the 32's were just not big enough to burn the wax off fast enough before drowning (who knows). Zincs normally work great with my blend and they are my favorite so I hope I can get them to work. Thanks for suggestion...I'll keep you posted.
  8. I was hoping someone who uses these jars could help me get this jar wicked properly. I use a parasoy blend with zinc wicks in all of my current jars but I cant seem to find any combination to work right in this jar. I have tried 1-51Z, 1-60Z, 1- 61Z, 2- 24Z, and 2-32Z. Off hand I think this jar is about 3" in diameter so I just cant figure out why one of these sizes haven't worked out. They all have either tunneled or drowned out and the HT is also not that great. I normally wick my 3"salsa jar with 1- 60Z and my 3 3/4" Tumbler with 2- 32Z and get really great results. As easy as the salsa jars are to wick I am just not in love with the continuous thread top that you can see even with the cover on. That's why I would like to be able to have a few different options as far as styles go.
  9. Thanks for the link and the advice. I agree that having a name that is uniquely mine is what I want and that's why I was checking to see if they were already being used. I don't want to get confused with someone else but more importantly I definitely don't want to have to deal with any legal issues that could come about by doing this. I was just mainly curious to see how and why others are getting away with this.
  10. I have been recently debating on changing my business name. I have a questions though regarding the laws in terms of same or like name companies. I made a list of possible ones that I liked but when I went into google to check if they were already taken almost every one had at least 2 or 3 with the identical name or just off by an "s". I was under the impression that it was illegal to use a name that is already being used by someone else. The only thing I could think of when looking at these was that they all were in different states...so does that make the ultimate difference? TIA
  11. If you don't mind me asking, where do you get your base? I am pretty happy with the one I get from R.E. but always am on the lookout for something that might be better.
  12. I just got my sample of the peppermint bark today and am not all that impressed oob. I currently use just scents p.b. and it is fantastic so i'm not sure i'm even going to put it in wax. I also have the pinecone and put in a tart and had to shut it off...made me sick. I do have to say I like the other 3 new fos, at least oob.
  13. I just started breaking even not long ago and for now i'm happy with that. Hopefully, someday I will be able to make a living at it so I can say nananananana to my hubby who thinks i'm absolutely crazy. We have another retail business where I sell melts and small candles. I also have a couple of stores that I have my stuff on consignment in and those do ok, but by far my biggest sales are still to my family and friends. I wish I had more time to devote to this because I just love it.
  14. You know, I was just thinking the same thing. Although it did get out of hand sometimes, there are situations where her tongue lashings are definately in order...and this is one of them. LOL
  15. I don't think anyone here has any problem helping someone new out at all as long as they show they are willing to put in the time to help themselves as well. I truly think that the problem many people are having is not necessarily with your questions per se, but rather with the delivery of them. You may not mean to, but you are coming across very demanding, impulsive and not appreciative for any of the help you have been given. Candlemaking is an expensive, time consuming craft and/or job that most of us are very passionate about but the one thing it is absolutely not, is a get rich quick scheme. I have been making candles for about 4 years now but it took me about 2 years before I finally felt confident enough to start selling them on a small scale to the general public. I am not kidding you when I say I have spent so many hours reading through the posts on this forum, at times I actually thought my eyeballs were going to start bleeding. Not to mention the thousands of dollars and seemingly unending hours spent testing and failing, testing and failing until finally testing and succeeding...and I can guarentee you I am not alone. Now, put yourself in the shoes of those who have done all of this work and re-read through your posts and questions and I think you will understand where the frustration is coming from. I feel for you, losing your job really stinks, but if you are looking to pay your bills in the short-term....I honestly don't think you are on the right path. I can still remember the day I was looking over my candle bills along with my sales and was so excited to realize I had finally started breaking even...and that wasn't that long ago . I really think if you want to go ahead with this you should take the advice of some of the more experienced chandlers and start with melts and maybe some melt and pour soap...stay away from anything with a flame for awhile. You still will need to test everything you plan on selling but it is much less extensive for the most part. Good luck with all of this, and keep in mind a few pointers. There are a lot of very smart, helpful people on this forum and it's best not to insult them if you want them to help you...don't swear at anyone and never, ever ask again whether or not you need to test something before you sell it...I am afraid for your safety if you do:)

    Portion Cups

These look pretty decent...I wonder what the lids look like.
  17. Isn't it great when you have success after so much hard work. Our success in this business is so much sweeter I think because of how many times we fail before achieving it.
  18. I like the tin as well for this kind of setting and product. They both look great though
  19. I am getting them into wax as we speak...I pm'd you with my oob observations
  20. I GOT THEM! I definately know what way i'm leaning toward going off the CT but not sure what I should do now...i'm anxious to get them in wax!
  21. OMG Horsescents...that is hilarious! My dad says things like that all the time right out of the blue...he just cracks me up constantly with his one-liners
