  1. Party Pooper I totally understand your point though. I just like the idea of hearing other people's opinions on the waxes. I know I'd have to form my own opinion, but it just seemed like a good idea
  2. I think that's a fabulous idea Like I said, it would be nice to see what other people think of certain waxes. The suppliers aren't going to tell you, "Oh yeah, you might want to throw some vybar in this wax, it doesn't hold scent very well", LOL I'm trying to find a soy wax to blend into my tarts and am a bit overwhelmed by all the choices. Come on people!! WAX REVIEW!! WAX REVIEW!! WAX REVIEW!!
  3. Ohh! I'm in AZ too Yuma's 4 hours from here, but we do drive through there when we go visit DHs brother in San Diego...hmmmm....think I could get him to stop?? Thanks for the info! :highfive:
  4. I know. I've been surfing through posts for weeks (and yes, they've been super helpful!). Just hoping that there was a site with everyone's thoughts on the different waxes. Hey, a girl can dream, right?
  5. Just adding my $.02. I don't think Lonestar Clean Cotton smells anything like Peaks. I love the smell of Peaks Clean Cotton, but like you guys, I can't get it to throw. It works nicely in ornies, though!
  6. Hi all! I'm trying to decide on a good combo of waxes for my tarts. I'd love to read what others thought of some waxes before diving in and purchasing a bunch of wax. I know sites like Lonestar and Peaks tell you about the wax, but I'm interested in what people who have used the wax think (wet spots in jars, didn't hold scent well, etc.). I've been using a 75/25 preblended pillar/container mix, but I'm thinking I might want to throw some soy in. Any ideas if there are sites out there? Thanks as always!
  7. Thanks so much for the laugh. That was a riot. I've got two kitties myself, and it never ceases to amaze me how much trouble they can get into!
  8. Congrats! That's awesome! And I'm amazed that everyone was so honest with paying even though you weren't there! Good for you!!!
  9. I agree with you, Fern-Marie. I want to give these as presents (I don't sell), and I'd hate for my grandma's (or any one elses) house to catch fire because I gave them a faulty warmer. Thanks for the heads up on the Lakeside one. I'll give it a whirl! D
  10. Didn't look at Wal-Mart, but a lady I talked to in Michael's said she had checked there and they didn't have any. They may sell them as coffee warmers, not sure. I looked at Target, Linen's and Things, Hallmark, and finally Michael's where I found the Cozy-Up. I reallllllly didn't want to pay shipping. Oh well
  11. I gave it one more try with the Cozy-Up Warmer (I exchanged the other one). Nope. Same thing. It's been on only 30 minutes and the counter top is so hot. They should have a warning on the package. It just doesn't seem safe at all. Long story short...it's going back AGAIN. I ordered one from Lakeside. Thanks again!
  12. Thank you, Fern-Marie. I appreciate it. I will not be exchanging mine. I'll just return it and try one from Lakeside Collections. I'm planning of giving them as gifts to my grandparents and need something a bit safer. Thanks again!!!
  13. They weren't on sale, but for $4.99, I felt that was a good deal (it's the cheapest I've found). Mine has little "feet" on the bottom of the warmer, so I'm still suprised at how hot the countertop got since the warmer was elevated and not sitting directly on the counter. I could understand it being hot after hours and hours, but mine was only on for 2 hours and the counter was super hot. Yikes! I'm hoping it was just that one. Let me know what you guys find out about yours Thanks!
  14. Thank you guys so much. I'm so glad I have this board for all the helpful advice! I almost bought 10 of the candle warmers too. I have no intention of selling them, I figured they'd make great Christmas presents. Now I'm not so sure I am going to take the one I bought back and exchange it for another. I'll try it out and if it gets to hot, I guess I'll switch brands. I'll be interested, Fern-Marie, to see if yours gets as hot as mine on the counter. Could you let me know what you think? Thanks D
  15. Thank you guys. I'm returning it tomorrow, it was super hot. That just makes me to nervous. Any suggestions on a better one?
  16. I bought a candle warmer from Michael's today. It's a Cozy-Up Warmer by Provo Craft. I had it on for about 2 hours. I just turned it off and noticed that my counter top is SUPER hot! I'm wondering if this is normal or if I have a defective warmer. My electric tart warmer never gets the counter hot. What do you guys think? It makes me nervous that it gets the surface it's sitting on (the counter) so dang hot.
  17. Here's my suggestion, Red Clove + Orange I haven't tried it, but it seems like it would make a good combination Good luck! D
  18. Hi all! I'm playing around with some wickless candles (I figure I'll figure out how to make them look nice and smell good before I attempt the actual wicking part, LOL). I'm using J223 and am wondering what % FO to use. I have used 10% and some are strong (Almond Pastries), others are pretty weak (Home for The Holidays). I'm using little 4 oz baby food jars (since I have a TON of them). Since I'm not actually burning the candles, can I up the FO? Thoughts?? Thanks D
  19. Whoo hoo for you!! That's great!!! Better get some re-orders ready Congrats! D
  20. Hi all! I'm still playing around with waxes (aren't we all?). I've been using the OK6228 for my tarts, but I'm thinking of trying the 4794 and seeing how they come out (mixed with 25% container wax). Just wondering how the scent throw is on this wax and whether or not you need to add vybar. Thoughts? Thanks
  21. I think it's fantastic! The graphics are beautiful, the pages are easy to navigate, and it's very welcoming. A very well thought out site. I agree with the other posters. Maybe try advertising a bit, you could buy banner space, or have web rings that link to your site Great job! D
  22. Anybody? Bueller, Bueller??? (okay, if you've never seen the movie, you're not going to know what in the heck I'm talking about ).
