  1. If you live in a very warm climate and the box was out in heat (this has happened to me), it can melt somewhat and make it oily. Otherwise, it should be dry...call the supplier and see if they might exchange the case or give suggestions on how best to work with it. You might try adding 10% more PB and see if that helps keep it from sticking to the clamshells.

  2. I have used CS for years and some from NG. I just ordered samples from Flaming but the scents are weak. I got a pack of 10 today from Peaks and they smell very strong. They included a note that said 1/2 oz. pp is usually sufficient. I have been adding about 1 1/2 ounces of the other company scents and still don't seem to be getting much of a throw. Anyone that uses Peaks scents in 464 please let me know how much you use pp. I don't want to over scent the candles.

Rule of thumb is usually 1oz pp and go from there...for me with soy, I use 8.5% with good results.

  3. Hi Dave...I've been using C3 for a few years now and love it (I also use a soypara). There are a few things you can try to improve the texture and look of C3, one being tempering the wax. There are quite a few threads on it and it definetely makes the wax smoother and creamier. Many people pour C3 at a higher temp which enables them to get a smooth top. Some like myself, pour much cooler to avoid frosting issues. I choose to do a repour to fill in any sink holes and get great tops. I've never prewarmed jars...by pouring C3 cooler, you get excellent adhesion and virtually no wetspots. I pour when a slight skin starts to appear on top of wax, around 120*. You can also try adding a little USA (universal soy additive) to lessen frosting and improve texrure. Keep in mind that there are some fo's that will always cause frosting, but for the most part, by tempering the wax and pouring much cooler you can eliminate it with C3. HTH
