I've been using C3 for a few years and love using Premier's and CDN's. I would stick with the Pre 790 and for heavier fo's try 793. With CDN's I use CDN 16 and 18.

I checked my old notes... for a pint size (16 oz mason) I used a Premier 790 and a 793 for heavier fo's, try wicking up.

Are you curing the candles for at least a week before testing? That can make a big difference in ht. It may just be that particular fo doesn't throw well in soy, but imo, I'd try wicking up.

1%? Most start at 6% and may go up to 8% depending on the oil. You won't get ht using much less than 6% in soy.

The toasted marshmallow is good and has decent throw but imo, AHRE's is better... stronger and more realistic.

You can't get away from frosting with soy, sooner or later the frost will show up. Imo, natural soy in a great jar looks classy and no worries about frosting

Peak now has it's own line of oils made specifically for creating perfumes, sprays, etc in high end fragrance dupes...hth.

LOVE Ginger Lime, Oatmeal Cookie, Early Sunrise, and Egyptian Sheets (this is a lighter scent but i love it)... these throw great in soy and soy para.

16oz of melted wax weighs the same as 16oz of unmelted wax... the volume is different, not the weight.

Premier wicks tend to burn down then out with C3, hence the tall, flickering flame. If you have both the 785 and 790, do a side by side test using the same fo at the same amount and see which one you like best and go from there. I've worked with 464 also and there are differences in the way the two waxes behave and burn... you'll need to test to see what works for you.

I use C3 and Premier wicks work well with it. In the 16oz mason jars, the 790 works well with great ht...hth.

With all paraffin a few days is fine, soy/soy blends a solid week at least. You stated you used 2oz fo pp... that's a bit overload imo. You may see fo seepage and the cost is another factor. With paraffin 6-10% should work great, with soy (imo) 8-10%.... keeping in mind the quality of the oils you are using, hth.

I agree with Moonshine, nothing cleans up the way Viva does and you don't need to use near as much.

I have never found CO to help with ht, just helped the wax to look a bit creamier and burn slightly easier...hth.

I pour more by looks than the temp... right when it starts to get cloudy, around 115*. No, I've never heated my jars nor do i cover them but i do live in a very warm, dry climate...the climate does make a difference and is a factor when it comes to one's system.

Vybar is for paraffin. To improve the overall look of soy, try USA (universal soy additive). Some believe it helps with ht, I found it to be more for the looks. I've used C3 for years and found that tempering the wax gives it the best look. As far as ht goes, quality fo's, wicking and cure time all contribute to having a great throw...hth.

I did not like the results with blending the C3... mostly cosmetic reasons but the ht wasn't noticeably better either. I get very good ht with C3 using 8.5%, 6% didn't cut it for me and choosing the right wicks can make all the difference...hth.

Try a 70/30 blend to start (soy/para). I did try blending with C3 but had huge wetspots so I decided

to master C3 instead lol. You can achieve great results with this wax... there are many, many threads on it here to help you.

OldGlory was not exaggerating when she stated it will cost thousands before you have a safe, great candle to sell and yes, it will take many months if not longer before you produce a saleable candle.

For soy, cure time is a must and as the others stated, 7-14 days is standard for each oil being tested. Wicking plays a big part in ht as well. And that does not mean when you find the right wick, that it will work with every fo. There are no short cuts when it comes to testing.

There is a vast amount of info on the forum and it will cut down on a lot of tears and hair pulling if you take the time to research and read through it. We're here to help and support one another but we each have to do the leg work...what works for one does not mean it will work for all...hth.

I had 10 lbs of wax in my cart, 10 samples, and 1 box of 35 clamshells...When I went to check out, I had shipping charges of $14+ added twice (total $29) because the clamshells were being shipped from NC instead of Reno. So I called and asked if they could just process the whole order from NC... they said NO. I asked why not since that's where i used to get everything from before they had the Reno warehouse and she said because they will only ship from nearest location to me and if Reno doesn't have a particular item, then they'll ship it separate from NC. RIDICULOUS... needless to say, not only will I not pay $14+ shipping for an $11.99 item, but they lost a long time customer.

CD's, CDN's, and Premiers all work well with 3022...hth.

Love the last one and the wording 'natural soy'....as a consumer and chandler, I take it to mean the wax is soy based, not a 100% all natural candle. Great job Trappeur!
