  1. Thanks! It looks like you're right and I should just order some other things I need to make the shipping less painful.
  2. BTW, the cost of a case of 72 came out to $20 and change and the cost of the shipping came out to 25 and change! Am I wrong to think this doesn't seem right???
  3. I use tumblers like that as well and am looking for votives as well as a size larger than the tumblers.
  4. Does anyone know of a place I can get these: I found them at SKS bottle, but the shipping was way too high for me. The only other frosted votives I've seen anywhere else have been the flower pot ones which I don't want. TIA!
  5. Thanks to all of you for your help! I ordered the 3" shrinktubing and 8 inch Impulse sealer with cutter from here. I spent more money than I planned on, but...so what else is new ? From all that I've read on previous threads, etc. the time saving factor of having the cutter should pay for itself in time. Thanks again everyone !
  6. I really love the throw on this 4630. I also made a tester in one of my lighter FOs I'm going to try it out today to see how "light" it is in this wax. :embarasse and...momentarily I'll be walking by my full case of soy blend and I will become light headed with anxiety and confusion :tiptoe:
  7. Is there a container wax that is as good as j300 was for layered candles?
  8. I have the 4630 going now in an 8oz. tin and it is just amazing how it is filling the very large, open room I am in. I have to pour the same combo with the J223 and soy blend. What is it about the paraffins that you prefer over the soy blends?
  9. I had tried straight soy in the past and didn't like the finicky nature of it. I hated that some of my favorite FOs that threw amazingly in my paraffin tart wax smelled just awful in soy. Most commercial candles I've bought and loved have been paraffin. I think the ones that I bought , for example Old Virginia Candle Soy Blend have had more paraffin than soy based on the look of the wax and the fragrance throw. I just bought a case of my soy paraffin blend...oy!
  10. That looks perfect! If I order the holder for the roll that brings me right above $25. Thanks so much! As an aside, do you have a specific impulse sealer that you prefer?
  11. Thank you both so much! I have looked at the Shrinkwrap Store but didn't see 3 in. I will check them out again and look at Papermart as well. I'm wondering if 3 in. doesn't exist.
  12. OK..so I love my soy/paraffin blend container wax. Beautiful burn, hot and cold throw. Out of curiousity I bought 10 lbs of 4630 and 10lbs. of J223 to do a comparison since I am always looking for blow me out the door fragrance throw. Right now I'm testing the 4630 with a BC Closeout Banana Cream Pie and the throw was immediately kick a**!!! I know that people rave about this fo in general and I haven't tested it yet in my soy blend (I will pour that tomorrow). Which leads me to wonder if I made the right choice going with a soy blend. I know that many companies feel very strongly about all of the positive points of soy, but then I think about companies like "Y" who's candles I have always enjoyed . Does anyone know if they have ever used soy or have they always stayed with paraffin. Is there anyone who has consistently used paraffin and is moving toward soy that can shed some light on this for me? Any J223 or 4630 users who tried soy blends and went back to paraffin? Thanks for your help!
  13. I remember reading somewhere that people use shrinktube for shrinkwrapping their tarts. I think it was 100 gauge 3 inch. I've done countless searches trying to find it and haven't had any luck. Am I thinking of the right size? Can anyone guide me to where I can buy this please? TIA!
  14. No....just got off topic here a bit talking about the tumblers themselves. Haven't found a source for the lids yet.
  15. Thanks for the info, this is good to know! I wish CandleScience offered a larger size frosted tumbler to compliment the 8 oz. size, Their shipping can't be beat!!! Super fast, very reasonable and they are TOPS in customer service!
  16. The jar is so pretty too! I really love the finished look that the lid offers. I've read that some brands suggest using similar lids to extinguish the candle. I was just checking out the Genwax website. Is it crazy for me to consider ordering from CA if I am in FL? I bought the 8 oz. frosted tumblers from CandleScience, but was just checking out the 7 and 14 oz. frosted Bayside jars. I like that they offer the two sizes. i want to be able to offer a large and small size of the same jar.
  17. Thanks for explaining. I'll have to keep on the lookout for one of her buys.
  18. Does anyone know of a source for fancy tumbler lids like this?
  19. Do any of you find that you have issues with tarts and candles melting when shipped in the extreme heat of summer (especially in the very warm states)? I am in the process of going from hobbyist to business and am trying to plan the most efficient way to ship. Do you do anything special in your packaging that you feel helps to insulate your products? Thank in advance!
  20. Am I seeing things or is this a huge wet spot? If this is the photo they are using on their website and I know that of the many Yankee candles I bought before making my own, then why oh why do so many of us stress over the wet spots?
  21. I'll go check them out right now!!! Thanks so much for your help !
  22. I just saw these for the first time recently and love the look of them. Can someone recommend a good source for them please? TIA!
  23. Thank you so much for your help with this! I am new to posting on this list and have been a little hesitant about doing it. Your quick and thoughtful response are greatly appreciated !!!
