  3. Looking for a great water/marine/lake scent. Looking for something really fresh and different from the ones I am currently using. Have tried: from bittercreek- seabreeze oceanmist mountain lake spring rain Tidal Wave Also looking for something that screams the fresh outdoors. Fresh air, some woods. Maybe a hint of wildflowers....... Not hard to please at all...lol:wink2: Anyone know of anything like this or close so I add to it? Been trying to mix some scents I have have but ending up with perfume undertones that take away from the fresh, breath of fresh air I'm looking for! Any help would be so appreciated! Lisa
  4. Specialty Bottle Co. They are cheap, especially the more you buy.
  5. Was approached regarding a 4 oz. tin soy candle scented with Patcholi(sp) for a store in a mall. I don't have time and I don't do private labels, so if anyone is interested.....PM me. Lisa
  6. I use the silicone spatulas. Heat resistant to 400 degrees, sturdy and very easy to clean. Just wipe em up with paper towel and if they need more they can withstand the heatgun......... just feel wood is too porous and I throw enough away (dixie cups, loads of paper towels....) HTH Lisa
  7. Do they send free samples or do you pay for them? tia Lisa
  8. I use eco 1 in my votives and it burns great in my votives.....may want to try them. hth Lisa

  10. Michael, I use a 7.5 oz. tumbler and I have wicked it with great success using RRD 34 and RRD 37, depending on frag/color. I currently use a Para-soy blend. HTH Lisa
  11. Hi All, Any thoughts out there regarding UV stabilizer and J223? It is a pre-blended wax, so do you use it? And if you do, do you think it really makes a difference with fading or making the color blend better?? Do you find it affects the burn of your candles? Trying to figure if I really need it or not. TIA Lisa
  12. Hey everyone, Looking for a real true cherry scent....sweet, but tart. I have tried Peaks Wild Cherry and BCN Cherry and I just get too much of a medicinial smell for me. Like ludens....... anyone know of a good true cherry?? TIA
  13. Don't know anything about that particular wax, but I find the RRD's work well for me with soy/para blend. Zinc's smoke what too much for me.
  14. Presto pot, for sure! And I don't even bother with the spigot, just pour directly out of the pot into my pour pots.
  15. Thanks for all the great advice!! Sounds like a good investment. Special thanks for the relief hole tip because I hadn't seen that anywhere and a geyser of wax would have definitely freaked me out, not to mention the mess in my studio!! Does the wax just trickle out of the spigot or does it come out at a pretty good clip? Sorry not a very patient person, when I'm ready to pour, I want to get right to it!! LOL
  16. Hi All, I have read all the old posts regarding the Surf and Turk units people out there are using to melt their wax. It has been awhile since the last post and I am interested in hearing how they are performing...... Has anyone had any safety issues or do you just add melted wax to cover the element the first time and then keep it covered? Re-melting the hardened wax in the unit is ok ? And how is the flow on the spigot? Does it take forever to fill your pour pots? Lots of question, I know......but I am very interested in buying one of these and wanted advice from some owners!! Thank you so much in advance!!! Lisa PS- and of course you can't add your FO?Dye to it, right??
  17. Mine doesn't fit any of my containers, so then when I try and hold it where I think the center is, they always come out off center!!
  18. The Soy Crumbies from swan Creek are made to go into a warmer not added to a candle.
  19. http://www.swancreekcandle.com/waxmelters.html Swan Creek Candle has been making these for a long time. They smell great, but I agree, I think they would be a pain to mass produce.
  20. Hi. I got mine at shrinkwrapstore.com. Only $33 , works great, and customer service is A++. HTH Lisa
  21. No, it's Lilac and a sea type FO. The hang up was at least 1/2 an inch thick. Don't think it'll catch up. It's just sort of tunneling down. I am burning for at least 3 hours, since the container is 3 inches wide. If it gets close enough I will do another burn but if it's still a 1/2 inch away I don't bother. I figure it's time to move on to another wick. So, you divide container into 3 for 2 wicks? I'm not getting it....maybe I need more coffee? Do I just measure to make sure each wick is 1/2 from the center, so that they are an inch apart?
  22. On the double wick issue.......I really haven't tried it because I'm not sure exactly how to do it....as far as spacing goes? Is it an inch between wicks? and then how do you keep it centered?
  23. Thanks for all the imput! I am wicking a custom blend and the base is Lilac from peaks, so I think it is heavier. The 51's just are not working for me, and I did try the 60-44-18z, but I do have the cotton 60-44-18's. I have been afraid to wick up too agressively, due to the deep melt pool. Is that caused by it being to hot or too small of a wick? tia! Lisa:cool2:
  24. Hi All! New to the boards and I want to thank everyone for all the valuable info here! It's wonderful! I am currently testing J50 wax, 1-1.5 % FO, in straight sided 13.5 oz tumbler (which hold approx. 10 oz. wax) that are 3 " in dia. I have sample packs of the HTP , Zinc, and LX series. So far I have tried, without success: LX22, LX 20, HTP 105, 51-32-18z, HTP 73, 60-44-18z, and LX 18. The last 2 burned to a 1/4 inch of the jar in 3 hours time but the melt pool was very deep. Any ideas where to go next? I am also doing 8 oz tins with the same wax and have tried the HTP 83 and 51-32-18z, with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! TIA Lisa:bliss:
