  1. I can find something very dangerous with those candles she made. The look so fricken real I might mistakenly eat one and that would be dangerous and unhealthy!! Mike
  2. Depends on what your looking for. I try to buy close to home to save on the shipping. For example I am driving down to Candlewic to pick up 30 cases of jars and lids and while I'm there I will also pick up some F/o 's and coloring blocks etc.. I wish I was closer to other suppliers I deal with but i'm not so I bite the bullet and pay shipping.
  3. Love them. Much better for me with than without. Just try and keep em straight. I find it much easier to remove them if I put them in the icebox for a quickie before trying to remove them. Mike
  4. I second Black Canyon. In it throws awesome hot and cold in 415. It's a very popular scent for us. The men aren't afraid to buy it either. Lol Mike
  5. Wow were you looking in my basket at the Christmas Tree Shops? I got the same exact mini loafs!!! Mike
  6. Perhaps theres a little bit of embarrassment on her part to admit she misread the post. The deal she "thought" she was getting was also too good to be true. That should have been the first sign even on flea-bay. I would feel bad if she had been screwed over by them but that was not the point. Mike
  7. The 10 oz was a typo. They are the 12oz jars. I have poured new testers to see whats happening. I poured CD-12's,CD-14's and CD-16's. No its not 40 degrees inside. Room temps were 70-72. Mike
  8. I have been making candles for a little over a year now and have tested, tested, tested. I had THOUGHT that I finally found the right wick selection. I have been burning the same f/o and hae made it the same way numerous times over the past year. I just started burning this candle a few days ago and noticed alot of hang up which NEVER EVER HAPPEND before with this formula. I am beside myself thinking that what I thought I had achieved after all the testing and money in the last year is not right all of a sudden. I figured ok maybe a draft so I moved it to another room and it never caught up. I am now more that half way through a 10 oz candle and its getting worse. I know its best to wait until its done to see if it catches up but its downright looking ugly and not up to my standards. Could it be the temperature change? Its only been hitting 40 degrees and thought maybe thats it? I am confused!!! I am using 10oz status jars, 415,1 oz f/o per pound and CD-1O'S. Any ideas? Mike
  9. As far as 415 goes I agree with Beth. You should be pouring alot cooler for nicer tops. You have to play wit your temps to see what kind of tops are acceptable for you. You can get semi-smooth tops or sand texture tops (thats what I call it) but you have to test it. This eliminates the heating gun step. Stirring is a must if you decide to pour alot cooler like under 100 degrees. If you dont stir you get alot of wax sticking to the sides and bottom of your pouring pots and your jars wont be as full as you wanted. Sure you can reheat and wait longer but that another time consuming step. I use the 1 oz of weighed f/o per lb method and 1 dye chip and never have had any sweating issues. I do not use any additives either. I love this wax. I started using 415 over a year ago and dont sell any but used 7 cases so far and havent thought of switching. I have read until my head hurt all from info found on these boards. Do a search for gb415. HTH Mike
  10. Status jars and I can pick them up to save on shipping. Mike
  11. Puchased my wife a kit of Ebay for Christmas a couple of years ago. She claims she didnt have time to make candles so it sat. I got a serious injury that required back surgery and now am paralyzed in my lower leg and wear a brace to walk. While I was home going out of my mind with talk shows, I decided to try it and see what it was all about. I looked for websites on how to do this and found Craftserver. Well I must say it was a great thing to find this board but I blame iall of you for making me broke now! LOL We now have something else to do together every weekend that we really enjoy. We dont sell any but make them for ourselves and families and we also gift them. Mike
  12. Same here with no problems with glue dots. I always wash my jars first and sometimes Ive complained when I try to remove the tabs after the burning is completed because they stick so well. I lean towards the side of dust or manufacturing residue on the glass not holding them in place. Mike
  13. I started out not using a spigot because I was too lazy to drill it out. When I did, I drilled all my presto pots out. I cant imagine never using a spigot again either. I have never had any teflon peel off or have one clog up. The wax in the spigot melts as your melting your wax. I have 2 for container wax and 2 for melts and votives. I NEVER EVER mix F/O or DYE in my presto's. Strictly plain wax. I use pouring pots either small or large depending on how much I need to pour. I have scales under each pot and thats how I weigh out what I need. I would love to see Roberts set up linking 2 or more together!! Please post pics of your setup if you wouldnt mind. Sounds interesting. Mike
  14. Thanks. Next order I will get a sample of it. Mike
  15. Just purchased a votive of this and it smells incredible. I will be watching this post closely. Also looking for an autumn wreath dupe. Mike
  16. Holiday Frost in 415 was very weak. 2 week and 3 week cure times.
  17. I got a sample of Midsummer Night from Peaks with my last order. I only got it because the reviews said it was a manly smell. After I got it, my wife and 12 year old daughter said they didn't like it because OOB it smells too much like cologne. Well the disagreement started. My daughter chimed in and said, "dad candles should smell pretty, not like cologne". Ok I let them win this one. Well its now over a week later and I decided to burn the tester in my bedroom. We are talking a 16x16 room with 9' ceilings. So far in less than 45 minutes the HT is so awesome and its starting to make its way across the hall to my daughters room. She now smells it and yells "dad whats that it smells awesome!!" Now its my turn....I replied its sweet floral something. I am trying out a new scent but I don't really care for it! She then proceeds to take the tester out of my room and put it in her room. I took the label off before so she has no idea. My wife comes home and starts rambling with her about how good it smells. I have played right along with this and still havent told them what it is except sweet floral. I will play this one for a little while.. By the way this FO rocks in 415 and smells awesome!! Mike
  18. Thanks for the replies. I am going to use a few this weekend and test them next weekend. They seem to be a little thinner than my others but we will see. Mike
  19. Maybe this is stupid or a newbie question. Does it matter where you purchase wicks from? I am asking because I needed some material from another supplier and also was low on wicks so why not just order them and save on shipping. If I have been using CD10'S from one supplier all along but now purchase CD10's from another supplier will they be the same or did I just cause myself problems? Mike
  20. Interesting....https://www.kringlecandle.com/articles/view/soy-vs.-paraffin/
  21. Sorry to not have any input on your e-mail but I just wanted to say that I love your labels!!
  22. Thanks for the replies. I havent used the f/o's yet but plan to this weekend. I am going to keep doing what I have been. The only reason I asked was because I had never used Peaks previously and didnt want to do something wrong while testing.
