  1. This thread had me looking at the cheese dip jars today at the grocery store & I definately don't like the threads. Maybe a ribbon tied around to hide them?
  2. I can't believe how good & strong this FO smells. I poured 8 different scents & its blowing the others away! I used 8% in 4627 wax. Does anyone use a higher FO% then the % the owner of the company recommends? She sent me several great info sheets explaining why to only use the low %, but I wasn't happy with the HT of the candles. The CT on the following was great but the HT was kinda weak: Vanilla Voodoo Tiger Lilly & Cantaloupe FairyDust & TwinkleToes
  3. Me too! I ordered a small wooden mold today from Ebay to start my journey! I cannot wait!!!!!
  4. Ok I just poured these: French Vanilla Morning 10.5% just to see what happens-Perfect no separation 15oz Madison Maple Sugar 8% Perfect no separation 12.25oz Status 4627 Wax 185 Added oil Stirred 2 minutes, then poured. I'll let you know what the result is on Fri. or if anything changes sooner.
  5. I'm just in the beginning stage so of course trying everything. I have only gotten great HT's from: Gardenia Hyacinth Birthday Cake Blueberry Blastoff Macintosh Apple The following are: Jamaica Me Crazy-Weak Fruit Slices-Really great unbelieveable CT no HT at all except for carmelized sugar smell Strawberry Cheesecake-Weak, Yuch Bird of Paradise-Weak Coconut Lime Verbana-Weak Garden Rain Barrel-weak compared to CS's Rain Water Butterscotch Bread Pudding-weak Peaches & Cream-yuch nothing but weak baby food smell. Now since I'm inexperienced I really feel its something I'm doing wrong since everyone else says they are great. I'll reorder all of the above fO's again to retry because its really not fair for me to judge since I'm having so much trouble.
  6. Good Morning Diana, Not in the pot, I mixed for 2 minutes, I'm watching everything like a hawk. While burning, a weird beige color was sitting on the top of wax. That also happened with 9% FO of hyacinth but not 6%. I figured it was something I was doing wrong!
  7. I can't believe the sharing & teaching on this site. They are wonderful. I know I'll be paying it forward!
  8. Hi There, I'm moving to St. Pete. area in Dec. so I've been comparing prices. Soaper's Choice, Camden Grey, Restaurant Depot, Gordon Food Service, Sebring & Elements. Soapers Choice beats them all. I don't know anything about quality. Tracey
  9. Champagne Snow Showers: Very pretty scent & strong C & HT's but it reminds me of an old deoderent. I can't remember the name. CRS!
  10. Whoops nevermind! Lost a page! I like this one. I always write "&" like this, so maybe others might.
  11. 4627 I used 8% PP Its probably me then. Yes it is very close to CS's, if I stick my nose all the way in the jar when its not lit I get the faintest hint of scent. I keep testing but................
  12. Garden Rain Barrel: CT-Teeny Tiny, HT-None. I had ordered Rainwater from CS on y'alls reviews & even with my poor skills its incredible how strong the CT & HT are! The scent was still in the room this morning even after I removed the jar last night. Thanks!
  13. Carrot Cake w/Icing. Smells just like it!
  14. I think I'll give up on that FO for awhile until I'm better at the others I have. Thanks for your help! Tracey
  15. Thanks, I've tried CS & CC & neither is strong in ct or ht. I'm testing so its probably me!
  16. Which supplier has the best "Ginger Peach"? Thanks!:tiptoe:
  17. Good morning, Would you mind sharing the temps you melt to & pour at? Not getting very good cold or hot throws with this 4627, trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance!
  18. Hi There, I'm new to this also & confused but figuring out how to test slowly. At first I was using the whole 1 oz bottle of FO samples & had piles of little candles all over my shelves in kitchen. Gave to family members then began freaking out once I realized that wasn't a very good idea. So had them swear up & down to either send back or watch candles burn like a hawk. Won't do that again! Now I make very small batches of fo/wax ( so that I have enough FO left to try different %'s ) & pull the wick out & put another type or size of wick back in once I know that wick is not working out. Lonestar has a sampler pack of 305 wicks for $44.95. I bought different jars to see which I like also. So definately test yourself IMHO!
  19. I put a shot glass on scale, tare it, put in FO to weigh. When I find a better scale to buy I'll do as Stella suggested. Makes sense the less containers you put the FO the more gets in the candle. Heres the best helper ever ( again from Stella) www.onlineconversion.com/percentcalc.htm My ocd would not let me calculate anything & I was screeching until I found it in the threads!
  20. I did yesterday. It has a very strong CT. I haven't burned yet waiting to see if it gets any better first. All the other oils are great so far.
