  1. When I first started out I did all beeswax containers and they were a pain because of the high melt point of the wax . Square Braided seem to work great and are recommended for beeswax candles . I will check to see if I have any left ( I went to candlewic and had a bunch made up) If I do I will be happy to send you some to try out .
  2. From what I can see you got a good melt pool , as for the appearance that is generally what soy looks like after it burns unless you mix it with some other type of wax some use Beeswax . HTH
  3. I use KY pure soy and natural pillar wax and have had no probs , Been a while for me as well but I think the waxes are very similar. Need to get back into candles LOL got hooked on soap making .:embarasse
  4. Thanks Lisa I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I use to get all my soaping oils from them now all I see of them are on the clearance page. Thanks again
  5. Hi guys just wondered if there is something wrong with thier site , went there this morning and it only goes to product page and it only list EO blends, FO and Clearance pages . Seems they are no longer selling fixed oils as that is what is on the clearance page . Hope they are just revamping thier site or have I missed an anouncement ?
  6. That does look good , every time I try to make scrub it turns out like cement LOL good job !
  7. I remember witches brew if it is the same as BC , I went and read thier description of it and now I am stuck on a forest theme. Forest Path Secret Forest Moonlit Forest Mystical Forest :embarasse HTH
  8. To my knowledge that are not the same . I don't know the actual reason besides one is cosmetic grade the other isn't HTH
  9. This should be fine unless you use Soy then go to the veggie section . Although there may be a sticky in one of them that addresses the wick issues . HTH
  10. I found the three I have at a local craft store . But I have seen them on C&S but I think they get them around Halloween and sell out then although I could be wrong Sorry not much help .
  11. What do the guide lines say Wed, That may help us figure some thing out . Not to heat over 80 ? hmmm another new one to me .
  12. Did your wax come with heating and pouring instructions? Fragrance load amounts etc... Im sorry I seem to be asking more questions than answering but with out this info it is kind of hard to figure out what went wrong.
  13. Welcome Back Jen , I have been away for some time as well dontcha just hate when life gets in the way of candles LOL ! Looking forward to seeing some of your great pics .
  14. So the FO has color added ? hmmm never seen that . Next question would be how much FO are you adding to how much wax ? the norm is usually 1oz of FO to 1lb of wax . If you dont mind me asking could you supply the name of the wax and FO ? someone else may use the same and be of more help .
  15. Well first which type of soy are you using? it sounds like it may be container soy . Second is the FO adding the streaks or are you coloring them as well ?
  16. I use a 65%/35% makes a medium thick lotion . And I agree on the ewax and stearic ,from all I have read the beeswax and borax either doesnt work or takes alot of trial and error to get it to work. I like the effect of adding Dry-flo as well to help with that little bit of greasy feel left after it sinks in.
  17. I would take out the borax and the beeswax and use an Emulsifing wax. Other than that you could use a little Dry-Flo powder to take out some of the greasy feel. HTH
  18. OMGs going through the same thing and I can't remember being as selfish with my Mom . Teenage girls sheesh!
