  1. They are some interesting combos, but that's the fun in blending! I would not have guest they would work. I had some leftover FOs that weren't selling well and decided to combine them. I'll be the first to admit that most of those FOs I cant stand on their own. Although patch and sandalwood always sell. The baby powder blend was a total fluke! But, I like it. LOL. The only one that smells a little eh...is #5 blend (SOL) It's very clean, I'm just not a fan of ocean scents. ...Ah, monitor smell, nothing like. LOL.
  2. A few Citrus/herb combinations that DO work, some Amber options, and a few of my favorite herb blends. Lime Cilantro + Baby Powder + Coconut ( weird mix, but smells great) Peach + Almond + Patchouli + Amber (year-rounder) Grapefruit + Clove + Eucalyptus ( very refreshing, relaxing, clean) Lemon + Green Apple + Anise (funky, in a good way) Strawberry + Ocean + Lemongrass ( great deodorizer) Banana + Basil + Amber ( refreshing, fun and fruity) Cucumber + Blackberry + Sandalwood ( year-Rounder) .
  3. BCN's Hot Fudge Brownie (with the addition of 5-10 drops of coffee and dirt FOs per ounce) Really. Now for the science... A true cocoa bean will have the slightly bitter-earth scent characteristic that are often lacking in even the best chocolate FOs. With a few drops of these FOs( I get them from CS) it will greatly intensify any chocolate note. If you are wanting a true extremely rich, slightly bitter, and more realistic FO without being "candy" sweet give it a try. BCN's hot fudge brownie is one of my favorite chocolate FOs.
  4. A review of Filmore's Fresh Grass and English Ivy Fresh Grass - green. A grassy scent, with a touch of dirt, and subtle warmth. Love it in the bottle. A great one note scent. Not quite "true" grass, but the best I've sampled yet. Good. *** English Ivy - Herbal, Green, earthy. A very good FO with strong waxy herbal nuances. I smell: thyme, clover, grass, cucumber, ivy, and maybe even oakmoss. Smells very fresh, without any floral characteristics. Very Green and Earthy. Dry down is a pleasant dirty-cucumber smell. No musks at all. Great. ****
  5. Got them today, so will have a review soon. I can tell you that the EI is amazing in the bottle.
  6. Have you tried Brighter Scents Iced Orange Pineapple? It's not a single note Tangerine, but it is orange citrus and it smells really fresh. Very good FO. Actually it does smell pretty close to fresh tangerine. I believe Wellington might have a few options. (at least 3) Lastly you can always add a little grapefruit EO or FO to an Orange fragrance.
  7. Holly, I'm not one to usually revive a dead thread, but I found your question interesting, and was hoping you may have found more info on modifiers. I have in the past used both Poly-20, DPG, FCO as well as EO/FO modifier; which is some trade secret blend ( no one wants to list the recipe formulary for it) Did you ever find any other modifiers that worked for your Room/Linen/Body sprays? .
  8. I misread it as Bayberry, when responding to Ksranch's post. Dang names! :rolleyes2 Bayberry is definitely seasonal-Christmas, somewhat piney. But it can be modified to work year round. Burberry (the perfume) is an amber/sandlewood scent with subtle mint nuances to liven it up and make it more clean and fresh. It's a year rounder. .
  9. Will the room spray blend still cloud using the base at Elements?
  10. It's considered more Christmas/Winter by my customers. But, that isn't to say that it can't be a year round scent. I think most people assume that due to it's mild mint note. I can easily see it changed to a year rounder with maybe splash of coconut or blueberry.
  11. Would you be willing to share your recipe? or do you purchase a premixed base. I would prefer not to use alcohol in mine.
  12. Thanks CandyBee. Another Fillmore endorsement for their Fresh grass FO, must be a sign! I got another great review via PM. Glad to know it's a good scent. Will be trying it real soon. Thanks. Oh, have you tried their English Ivy? Sounds interesting too!
  13. I think ScentIt has a new car scent. Haven't tried it, but I have tried their other FOs. Nice selection too! Scentit.com
  14. Not to threadjack, but the best ocean scent I've come across is at SOS, IMHO. It's a 50/50 mix of their "Fishing Pier and Sea Salt" FOs. It screams ocean without the overly floral characteristic in Peaks Ocean. On to that topic...Peak's Breakfast at Tiffany's and Cinnamon Buns are excellent!
  15. I had a customer today looking for, and I quote, "Knock you on your Grass" FO. They described it as smelling like a cut lawn. Is this an actual FO? I like the name! I've tried a few "fresh cut grass" fragrance oils, but non that were intensely grassy. I offered her a sample vial of FCG from Natures Garden and both of us agreed it was more "fresh", then freshly cut grass. Have any of you found an almost sickly intense grass FO. I'm pretty sure thats what she's looking for. I thought about Meadow from CS, but It's not really a single scent. I'd be interested in hearing from you all. Is something like this even available? FOfinder shows a few options...have you tried any?
  16. That's an odd note, what are your plans for it...if you don't mind me asking!? sounds interesting. I thought Save on Scents might, but it looks like they don't either. sorry.
  17. Tried the FO blend today. Loved it! Sweet, powdery, and slightly fruity. It's smells like the best parts of Sweet Pea, with the flowery middle now more subdued by the addition of exciting fruit notes. Smells similar to Sweet Pea, but more intense. 50% baby powder, 50% mix (cucumber, blueberry, classic musk) Now I have to figure out a name. "Electric...
  18. True. lol. That gives me an idea for a scent name "Vanilla-Beam me up, Scotty" or maybe "Beam me up, Biscotti" LOL.
  19. Taylored Concepts used to offer a scent replication service which utilized a machine that would break down the scent into it's chemical components for easy replication. Does any other company offer this service? Sure would come in handy!
  20. This has been my problem with most of the tobacco FOs. Either they're oddly sweet, or overly cherry. I'm looking for a more papery-woody leaf scent but with a subtle sweetness. I remember really likeing a free sample I received from one company...but for the life of me can't remember who/where! Oh well. I guess I'll keep on look'n. @ Ravens Thanks for the links. Might try a few. .
  21. Pretty sure this is it. http://store.southwestcandlesupply.com/havanna-nights.html
  22. Not to hijack, but what company is MC?
