Found a local gal that did this gorgeous from scratch cake for Payton's first birthday. White Chocolate flavored homemade fondant over chocolate layer and vanilla layer cakes with buttercream filling. She also did a little baby cake with buttercream frosting for Payton to devour. I was so glad to find this talented young lady; her pricing was amazing and she met me close to the party location. :yay:

  2. I use NG's. Here is their description cut and pasted from their site: Activated Charcoal Powder: Natural way to color your soap black. To achieve a nice black soap, use 1 tablespoon activated charcoal per pound of soap. Activated charcoal is also used as a detoxifying agent in soap. Activated charcoal is a natural odor absorber.

HTH! My male clients love it in the Di Gio dupe.

  3. I just tested Danish Butter Cookies from AH/RE and smell no cookies, just butter. I only let it cure overnight, but the cold throw and the fairly decent HT are just plain butter. When I mixed I didn't detect any cookie notes, and I'm a bakery FO lover.

  4. I've posted previously about problems with leaky clamshells from Impact. I kept thinking that since it was an occasional thing I wouldn't contact them, but I finally got to the end of my rope when I didn't have enough clamshells to finish up a fundraiser because of having to discard so many.

I sent them an email and got a very quick response from Nina Nguyen. We corresponded a few times with additional info and I wanted to let you guys know they did issue me a replacement. I really didn't know the exact number of leaky clams because I had thrown away the bad ones, so I estimated and they sent more than double the number I had told them. My real issue was the wasted time from cleaning up all the surrounding clams (some of which are still waiting for cleanup!), but they did what they could and I appreciate it.

Good customer service needs to be recognized, so I wanted to pass this along to you guys!

    Thanks.

  5. Hi All!

I just got 48 samples from AH/RE! I am so amazed at how fast I got my order. I live in WI and they are in SC. I had my order on the second day, and early morning delivery. I am only 4 hours from BCN and it takes them longer! Had all my oils in wax by the end of the day! I'll do a review soon! A couple I remember that I am loving is the ones mentioned..Cinnamon & Spruce, I love it kinda reminds me of ICS Sugared Spruce but think I like it even better. Salty Sea Air Is definitely awesome! When I close my eyes this for sure puts me layin on a beach sippin a fruity drink! Red Maple Leaf outta the bottle I couldn't decide but in wax is so good! Screams Fall to me!

Any results? I have a cart open for an order in the morning and am looking for something new to test and play with. What made you swoon?

  6. Debuted the 6 cavity jumbo at a show today; sold as many as the standard size, but it seemed a super odd show for us; mostly soapies, then jar candles, and warmers. I'll be curious to see how these do; I'm thinking my regulars are going to love big batches of their favorite scents. I still have to go through the orders my helper took today at the show, but I did see several for those in the register. Love to hear input!

.39 each isn't a bad price! Wonder what co-op pricing is on the 12 cavity:smiley2:

  7. Blue Skies

    Red Lipstick

    Welcome Home

    Rosemary Mint

    Warm Vanilla Nutmeg

Lavender Vanilla (and anything LAV makes me sick)

Children's Room (Love's Baby Soft dupe)

    Bird of Paradise

I did not find the Kettle Corn at all a buttered popcorn scent; it rocked in my test, but only played with their sample. I do plan to order more. Their samples are amazing; don't forget to add them to your cart or you don't get them.

  8. thanks for the help jackbenimble.

is in powder i will use glirecine... because with propenicol, which is use to keep the frangance longer it take about 4 or 5 days to use.

i have no more choice, because here we dont have many distributor as in the united state and a friend of mine bought from brumberry and here in customs didnt leave the product because they dont understand what mica is, and they said we need permission and a lot of stupid thing.. so we must try with what we have here.

    thanks a lot!

I am guessing you are using a mica or oxide? If so, mixing into glycerin first is how I do it. Can you give us more details?

  9. post-12201-139458504753_thumb.jpgI think I've solved the plate dilemma rather inexpensively; found clear plastic heavy duty 5.75" plates in 8 packs at the Dollar Tree. They are perfect for the 6" bears. Not sure about the bigger bears yet; haven't had time to unpack them yet.

Now to find a good deal on some holiday ribbon...:laugh2:

  10. Just chiming in; I use fresh milks in my M&P; have bars that have been setting wrapped tightly for over a year as a test. No discoloration, no mold, no rancidity. I'm pretty positive that if you don't overload the base then the preservatives it has can cover it. Just sayin'.
