  1. Hi!

I wanted to see what you guys thought. I am doing my own baby shower favors. Where I do soaping I wanted to do something to help the shower planning that meant a lot to me.

My idea is to do a batch of CP soap in fresh powder. I am going to do a white and blue swirl type soap. I was planning on cutting them at about 2 oz bars and wrapping in fancy plastic once they are cured. And I was going to do melt and pour snow flakes in just white or baby blue. Those also at like 2 oz so everyone gets a total of 4 oz. ( I am having a boy) The shower theme is snow baby because he is due January 17th. I will have the snowflake wrapped in clear.

I was going to put them both in bags with blue and white ribbon and "Its a boy" tags or something like that. I can't decide if I should change the sent on the snow flakes or keep it the same. it is melt and pour so i have some time to think.

I also make body butters and other products so i didn't know if I should do other stuff instead of 2 bars of soap.

    Feedback??

  2. I am no expert but I quickly relized I had to wrap mine in saran and quickly. I did some testing this summer and the soap got little bumps on it quickly from the high humidy. I would worry that parchment would let in too much moisture.

  3. Beautiful soap! Great combo:-)

I have very oily skin and as much as I like the idea of using CP soap, and do have a few bars I have bought and do use them occasionally, I have oily skin and I do use dial because it doesnt add the oiliness. It is a little drying which I don't mind. If anyone can come up with and "oil free" soap then I'll be a customer for life. Lol! :-)

I bet you need a "cleansing" based soap with very little moisturing oils. Most people are looking for the high moisturizers so that is what is made.

  4. I know.. I run into a lot of men that look, smell and really like the soaps but then walk away cause they "always used dial" or whatever type of soap they have been buying for 20 years.

I soaped up austrailan bamboo and I think that is a really nice "guy" smell. I also made sure I didn't decorate it too "girly". Men would sniff really like it then keep moving. I broke down and cut some bars into smaller pieces for them to try. I got a few guys to buy some after that.

    But really ... MEN!

The kids really killed me. They are little wise guys.. the did it just to bug me... lol

  5. If the first one is Taylored Con. the last one Tennessee, what co. is the middle one (TCS)??

    TIA

    Taylored Concepts

    Mexican Vanilla

    TCS

    Love Spell

    True Lavender

    *Tennessee

Warm Orange Gingerbread (turns very dark)

Anyone done the Mexican Vanilla lately?? I am looking for a good vanilla after my last one didn't harden up well in CP.

  6. Ah ok... I think it is resonable then. I've been to some where I had to pay 5ish dollars and it was just a craft fair. I would pay that to take the kids to the carnival and wonder through the crafters if the money went to the school.

    Sound like a good venue.

  7. Because of the scent...I wanted to style the soap with Faux Candied Ginger. So I made a 1lb batch of crockpot HP. Scented it with BB's Ginger fish FO ( like a strong bitter ginger ale) smeared it very thin on a silicone matt then used a pizza cutter to cut it in tiny bits then tossed the bits in Turbanado Sugar. It looks like Candied Ginger IMO. Real happy with the results.

A person could probably make a real cute gumdrop top on a soap batch as well.

It looks like candied ginger! Good Job!!
