  1. Well I ordered some wood wicks from Unity and can't wait to try them Any advice for a wood wick newbie??
  2. Thanks for the tip. I use the Basil Sage Mint from BCN so knowing I can get it cheaper someplace else helps. But, I am not fond of most of the oils from NG, so it wouldn't pay for me to order just one bottle of FO from them and pay the shipping since most of my other supplies come from BCN. Oh well.. win some lose some
  3. :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2: I need one of your bath bombs tonight
  4. Thanks Jo Well.. I might be rolling in something.. (wax) but it isn't going to help me get myself to one of your shows.. LOL Maybe one of these days I can order me up some candles to match my decor Hmm.....
  5. Well the gal who used to own my business had a ton of reps, but they died off with the fall of economy and such. So I am rebuilding my rep base. I know how and where to get them, but just want to make sure I am not being taken for a free ride.. ya know. I have alot of interest in people wanting to rep my products, but just need to weed out the real from the takers. The normal commission is 15% of orders. I think that is fair, but it doesn't give a candle maker much leeway to offer price cuts of shipping discounts to the stores buying the product.. but yet.. without a rep my line wouldn't be where it is today.
  6. Oh.. That sounds yummy!! I love clove, but mixed with white pepper.. what does that add? I want this.. where can I get it?
  7. I am curious as to what people do for their reps ? When I bought this business the previous owner had gone in this direction so I of course am continuing with what works. Well I am also taking on new reps but it seems some of them maybe are greedy, or not as serious and asking for way to much "free" stuff and commission. Anyone here deal with reps? What do you send them to take around and show? What commission do you pay? Have you ever run into "bad eggs" ? TIA
  8. I have fanned everyones pages. Please come fan me... http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/1871-Candle-Co/388822875656?ref=ts Thanks
  9. Never heard of tooth soap. Very interesting. I would love to try it.
  10. Oh I like that!! Very colorful and pretty. And if it works as good as it looks well that is a huge bonus
  11. Wow... I love them!! I love pillars, so pretty I never want to burn them.. LOL How could one get some of yours?
  12. Thanks for the info. I will have to order up some wicks and just test away Good Luck to you with your testing. It can be a pain, but very needed to sell a top notch product
  13. I too have been wanting to add a wood wick as I have had alot of request for them. But, since I am totally a soy gal I just didn't know what to do. I would love to test some, but just not sure what place is best to order the wood wicks from. Anyone here do them in soy?
  14. I would love to try one. How do I order one?
  15. Oh I love that!! Do you make them and sell them? I wouldn't want to give it up either.. LOL
  16. I had never used either or wanted to but when I bought the business I have now the previous owner had everything set up in Quickbooks Pro. So, I bought it. I hate it!! Well... I guess hate is too strong.. but it isn't top of my list. Yeah.. nice because all my customers are stored in it. But, I spend more time in my computer chair just trying to figure things out, entering orders, and all that crap. I also signed up to accept credit cards thru Intuit and that was a huge pain!! I use Propay and always have and it is just easier. And Cheaper! I like the old pen/paper system I used before. just my 2 cents
  17. I am mostly wholesale and tarts are one of my top sellers. I still make money even after paying my reps
  18. Oh...that sounds yummy Do tell us what you end up doing
  19. I use the one from Millcreek and love it!! Awesome scent throw in soy.
  20. My candle shop is in my basement and I use 100% soy wax and no dye. I pour at just above slush stage into cold jars. I never have rough tops. Occasionally when in a hurry and I pour to warm I will have to touch up with a heat gun..but not very often.
  21. For me it is trial and error. I buy alot that I think will do well, and they don't... so I sell them. I make only soy candles so some fragrances just don't blend well, or throw well. I am very picky and I order from only 3 companies for my oils.
