  1. I just got Bear Claws.....I agree with number2of7.....does not smell like the bearclaw pastry...I detect a bit too much chocolate oob. I made a room spray with it and smelled even more chocolate. Smells really good and strong but not what I expected.

    Apple Crisp....oob smells so yummy

Almond Macaroon.....oob smells great but have a feeling it may be a bit weak in my parasoy blend. but ya never know.

Also samples of Vanilla The King....I really like this vanilla. Put a little bit in a tealight burner with a bit of CO and yummmmm

Free samples I got are....Caramel Apple Pie...oob yummy and Hot Baked Apple Pie....smells just like the name :)

I think the 1st one I want to get into wax is Bear Claw to see if its different than oob and spray

  2. This all went down a few weeks ago. I love KY oils and have shopped at AH/RE a few times. The KY oils are a little bit higher priced than KY had them but is worth it to me because I don't think I can live without some of Vickeys oils.

imo AH/RE also has higher shipping rates than what I paid at KY.....oh well...I'm just glad I can still buy them :)

  3. Yea Brenda...same here..I use alot of CS oils and not too thrilled over the fact that some may be changing.

I use the Apple Jack and Peel from them every year around Christmas(big seller) and because of the clove shortage I'm hoping that doesn't change either. I can smell the clove in that one so I need to stock up soon on that I suppose....airhead me forgot to order it this past order lol

Please let me know what you think of Fillmores and I just remembered I have used AH/RE Cinnamon Styx and that's a nice fo with a great cinnamon spicy kick and decent throw.

  4. Yes indeed....candle nose to the max. I have to go outside for 10 minutes just to clear my head and nose so I can smell my stuff!

When I was in my first few months of candlemaking I used to think my candles were too weak when I poured them(due to candle nose) and would add extra oil....ughhh I have lived and learned and spent lots of money(still do lol)

  5. Bumpity bump

    Anyone? Please? Suggestions?

I am now down to about 2 oz of Fall Harvest and really need this fo along with Cake Bake. I'm pretty sure I can figure out the cake Bake since it smells like cake batter with a wee bit of almond but Berts sure was yummy smelling.

  6. icecold....I did a 60/40 mix. 60% Pumpkin Souffle and 40% KY Creme Brulee.

They both have such a strong HT and CT by themselves(imo) so the 2 blended together made for a super strong C and HT

I'm not really a big fan of Pumpkin Souffle all by itself because of the burnt note. Normally I would mix about 25% CS Cinnamon Buns to the pumpkin which I got the idea from Candlebuddy who at the time gave some great mixing ideas for many different scents.

Candybee ....you also are the queen of mixing ideas here :) I like the idea of the buttercream and pumpkin and want to give that one a try.

  7. CW Snickerdoodle is one of my good sellers around Christmas.

Super strong and super yummy in my parasoy blend. The only thing that does not thrill me with it is the color(so dark) but worth it because I get such a great C and HT with this fo.

I also have the Caramel Apple Cider. Smells good oob to my nose but wish it were a little stronger in wax. I did have good results with it in tarts though...but in containers it's medium strength for me but still a nice scent.

If you like minty candy cane type scents the Jack Frost(CW) is great in wax. A nice blend of vanilla and peppermint.

I have not tried the other ones you mentioned.

  8. Trapp....The amish Pumpkin is great. Awesome C and HT in my parasoy wax.

I don't know about the Autumn Jubilee though.

I have also waxed and had great luck with Red Sedona, Wild sage and Pink Sugar (which doesn't seem to be there anymore)

Oh and Berries and Lillies is another really nice one

  9. I've been using Candlewics container palm(1) and also the feather(palm 3) and I love both. I always get beautiful votives using their feather palm.

The container palm(1) is also a very pretty crystal pattern in the jars but looks nothing like GG.

I have also mixed the 2 together(it's been months since I have) and the outcome was quite nice but once I used too much feather and I could hear the wax rattling around in the jar(small hex). I wish I could remember how much since I was just playing around I didn't take notes. I'm guessing it was probably around 30 to 35% which was too much feather.

I'm pretty sure it was about 15 or 20% feather mixed with with container palm for a very pretty container candle. They were in hex jars which I don't use anymore. But I am pretty sure it had somewhat of a feather palm look to it.

I actually prefer Candlewics container (1) palm over GG mainly because I like the appearance more and the C and HT I get from both palms are great.

It also helps that they are only about 2 hours away from me so I usually get my orders next day.

I just realised I'm babbling away here and hope I have made sense in what I'm trying to explain Candybee lol

  10. I totally agree with you Candybee. Would be close to impossible for her to find the same oils that many of us loved and purchased. She is such a great lady to deal with...her prices great....most of her oils are great quality.

I sort of saw this one coming also.....kept hoping I was wrong. I'm so gonna miss her :(
