  1. I' m located in the Harrison County, Ohio. About 50 miles south of Canton. Really never thought about not using colorants in the dye, but that is a good idea. Would solve the whole frosting problem with GB464. Thanks for the suggestions. Its nice to have a place to go to get some advice and ideas.
  2. I have been making candles for approx 1 ½ years. During that time, I have tried several different types of wax. Started out with GB464 which I could get locally and saved on shipping; had a lot of problems with the frosting, which I really didn’t care for, but the scent throw was fine. Next, I moved on to IGI6006, which I had to drive about 100 miles to get, but I loved the results of the poured candles. Easy to work with, no frosting, no headaches. BUT then the supplier quit carrying it. The same supplier does carry Ecosoya Advanced, which I am currently using. Not sure of my feeling about this wax, seems to be easy enough to work with, has smooth tops, no frosting, can’t get the scent throw exactly where I want it. PROBLEM- Would love to find 6006 in the area or would consider shipping if the costs weren’t so high. Thinking about trying Nature C-3. If I decide to go this route, what is the best wick type to use. I have been reading the other posting and have learned alot, so thanks to everyone for their insight. Any thoughts or suggestions. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
  3. Got to watch where you set these babies at! I made a bunch a few days before Xmas last year for gifts and left them on the kitchen counter to set, my son came home from working afternoons and found them. At first he thought they were real and almost took a bite. Not sure he would have like the taste though.
  4. As a newbie, I enjoy looking at everyone's creations. Thanks for posting them.
  5. I have some of these blocks at home and never thought of putting wax inside. I bet it will make a neat candle, but the weight will be crazy. Let us know how it turns out. Sorry I have no suggestions for wicks or wax for your project. Good luck.
  6. I think they are beautiful. Great color and labels. Great job!
  7. I have seen these at the local craft shows. For some unknown reason I thought the smell would last longer than a week or two. Good to know.
  8. Great tips on partying LuminousBoutique. I agree that cash and carry is fine, but you should also offer the special orders to your customers. Going that extra mile means growth in your profits and orders.
  9. Thanks Candybee for the link. I have been gathering supplies to start in on making MP soaps. Can't wait to try some recipes.
  10. I have been using Ecosoya Advanced to make clamshell tarts and have had no problem. I think they pop out of the container with ease and the scent throw is strong when melting.
