  1. Hi all, I am in love with the scent of Mango whip {Body Shop bodylotion}. Can anyone recommend a FO that comes close? The only mango I have is CS Mango Papaya but its nothing like it!
  2. Hi Susan I like it, it is definately the scent of a hot baked apple pie {cinnamon notes}. CandleScience has it as only a one leaf rating but its much more than that IMO. Its not a great seller by any means and when this bottle is finished, I probably wont re-order. People buy it more for the 'novely factor' I think, but they dont come rushing back for more. But yes, its a nice hot baked apple pie scent.
  3. Hi Susan I ended up buying the polycarbonate maxi cups and I personally love them! I havn't had time to 'get them to market' yet as Im still wick testing. I had some little metal plates with ball feet that I had no use for so they came in handy!
  4. Hi Susan, just a heads up....unless your going to be doing a lot of different jars, you'll find you only need a few different wicks. P.S If you want to sample any particular size in htp's or cdn's, let me know since Ive got squillions of them that I am unlikely to ever use!
  5. I received an email from LBTS today and although they do not know what has caused this problem, they are sending me replacement sheets {I just hope its not from the same batch!}.
  6. Bart: I received a box of NCS Metro's today to see what they were like before ordering a larger batch. I must say that they certainly look better quality and are approx 100gr {not including the lid} heavier than the ones I have from ACS. Even though they are both 'the same size', NCS jars look narrower {because of glass thickness} towards the bottom {on the inside}. Do you {or anyone} find a difference in burn characteristics towards the bottom of the jar, between the 2 jars? I.E does the same wick work for both? I will test of course, but not this weekend, since Im nursing an absessed tooth and just want to die! Agreed ACS refund policy sucks. Several times they have given me a code number to use to get a credit {after sending them a pic of broken jars} off the next order but I have never been able to get it to work. Maybe its got a use by date! I just gave up.
  7. Yes they all look like that. The package was a Priority Mail USPS Flat rate mailing envelope and it was perfectly intact and undamaged. I've been completely happy with everything I have had from them to date. The labels are a lot smoother and thicker than previous one's Ive had {although they are the same code number} so the formula or manufacturer has changed. LBTS told me that no one else has complained! Richard agreed, online labels shipping charges are ridiculous to Aus. Why cant they use the flat rate envelope like LBTS.? Stella lol, I dont think I would even put these through my shredder!
  8. I sent this pic to the lady from Labels by the sheet. She did not know what I meant by ''corrugated'' {maybe thats just an Aussie thing i.e. corrugated iron}. This pic was taken within a few minutes of taking it out of its package. Where the dips are, the clear top layer is raised up off the white backing paper. Its as though the top is shrinking and warping the backing paper, thus pulling it all out of shape. There is NO way I will put this through my printer!
  9. Candybee, I described the problem to them via email {Im in Aus} and they responded with ''that happens sometimes etc"'. I emailed them again yesterday and told them they are un-usable {and all the details above}. I havent heard back but its probably because its the weekend. Ive never had a problem with the company before, so I dont know what their customer service is like in that area. They must have had complaints from others who bought these 'new' labels.
  10. Hi everyone I am soooo angry. I recently recieved 100 sheets each of oval and round ''clear gloss' labels for injet printers. I have had them before from Labels by the sheet and they were perfect! Both of these batched have a MAJOR FAULT. They curl inwards as soon as they are taken out of the package and as a result, the top {clear} layer comes away from the bottom white backing sheet. This leaves the space between each label 'raised up''. Its a miracle that it hasnt jammed my printer and it leaves black ink smears everywhere. I emailed the company and was told ''this sometimes happens with clear labels.....just store them flat and away from heat''. Well thats how Ive always stored them! I have tried putting very heavy books on them to coax them back to their flat state, but as soon as I take the books off, they curl back up again. They are pretty much un-usable. Anyone else have this problem? or know of a fix. I even resorted to ironing a sheet to see if that worked! p.s. I did notice that these labels had a much smoother feel to them than previous batches even though they are the same code number as always. Thanks for any advice
  11. Thanks everyone, I used the 'plain paper' setting and it works fine and doesnt take forever to dry!
  12. I just rang them and spoke to the same lady that I spoke to this afternoon, She said that Visa and Mastercard dont tell them the name of the company involved since it could jeopodise the investigation. They have to find out who is involved in the fraud and they dont want to ruin reputations needlessly {or tip off the culprit if they are working within that company I suspect} She said that I should use direct deposit with the company that I suspect is the one involved. We had an interesting chat about cc fraud. Its a huge problem costing the bank millions.
  13. I didn't ask but since there's really only one place that I regularly use that cc, Im guessing its in WA. {They dont charge us to pay with cc so thats why I do!} I remember now, that the bank told me my cc had been unlawfully used 3 times but that the 3rd time had been stopped. I'm assuming that the bank will take care of the unlawful transactions and they wont show up on my statement. {how did they know it wasnt me who made those transactions since they never asked me?} I might ring the bank tomorrow and ask what company is responsible since I dont want to use my new cc at that place until I check with them that its safe to do so! I cant see why they wouldnt tell me.
  14. I had a call from my bank today saying they are going to cancel my cc and send me a new one. She said that a place I had used my cc at has been compromised. She didnt ask me if I had authorized certain payments {nothing out of the ordinary showed up when I checked yesterday}. Im guessing they are contacting every one who has used a cc with the compromised site.
  15. Hi everyone, I have a problem! I have an oldish Canon Pixma ip3000 printer which I love since its never given me a minutes grief. I had windows xp and to print my clear gloss labels, I just choose ''transparancy'' in the select paper type box. Fast forward one week: I bought a new computer, it has windows 7. I hooked up my trusty old printer and selected the model and windows recognised and installed it. HOWEVER....it no longer has the ''transparancy'' option in the select paper type menu! It has plain paper, Photo paper pro, matte photo paper, glossy photo paper, high resolution paper, tshirt transfer and ''other photo paper''. I did try printing using the glossy photo paper {at least I think thats what I picked} and it did print ok but stayed wet for quite a while. My 'transparancy' setting used to dry in seconds. Can anyone suggest which of he above paper setting I should use for clear labels. OR can any printer guru tell me if this would work> uninstall the printer and then re-install the printer using the install disc that came with it. I know it probably wouldnt have the drivers on the disc for windows 7 since its old but I could download them. Do you think this would restore my 'transparancy' setting? Thanks for any suggestions.
  16. Hi Susan, I could spare a little, would a couple of desertspoons full help?
  17. Bart I read the same message and it sounded so final {that the site was closing for good}. I am amazed to see it up and running again {with no explanation}. I guess someone stepped in to take over the reigns. Glad they did!
  18. I was so lost, I even resorted to baking a cake! Hadn't done that for a while!
  19. I also have hunted high and low for box's for the 226gr metro's. You can get them in 3x3 and 4x4 but the metro's need a 3x3x4 high. They would rattle around in the 4x4. Im sure we could commission a certain size if the order were large enough?
  20. Hi Richard Will that metro supplier send you a sample if you request it? I've seen some pathetic thin metro's that break just by putting the lid on them! so quality is important {but you'd know that already} I use the 226gr metro exclusively so I'd be interested to see what you come up with.
  21. Hi Richard, thats seems like a very reasonable price for labels. Can I suggest a solution for your lack of a scent name on the label......print the scent name on clear round labels and put it on the lid. You can also include the nett weight. If you dont have any of those labels, I'll gladly send you a sheet to play with. Wow soot on the ecoya candle {and lots of it by the sounds of it} really surprises me. Does the glass get hot?? Did that happen with regular burning {as opposed to power burning}? I have a few customers who tell me they used to buy Glasshouse candles before mine. One day I will buy one for myself to see if the hefty price is justified!
  22. Hi Richard, the label looks great! I use the metro's also and have been waiting months and months for NCS to get them in. Every time I ring, they tell me ''3 or 4 weeks''....theve been telling me that since the start of the year! I got them from ACS and was very happy with them. Have you burnt an Ecoya candle? I'm often tempted to buy one of the high priced candles just to see if the price is justified. If you dont mind sharing, what does it work out per label to have them made up for you? I make my own clear labels but the solid colours look very nice.
  23. When I need to remove 'sticky residue' from something, I often have luck getting it off by putting another piece of tape over the top of the 'muck', rubbing it down hard and then ripping the tape off quickly. You may have to do this several times but it usually removes every trace.
