  1. And after seeing their pricing on 444, now I REALLY wish they were closer.
  2. I'm actually really liking the wax. It works well as a one pour for me, with only the occasional pokin and fillin... hot throw varies based on the scent of course, but so far I've been lucky with most of my selections. I love the burn... and I love how much easier it is to clean up!
  3. I'm using 444 with ECO wicks. Container is 3.25 in diameter, so right on the borderline between single and double... want to be prepared in case I cannot single wick it and have it burn like I prefer.
  4. Just got the email... they are lowering their 444 and another wax.... not a big decrease, but a decrease just the same!
  5. I've always dealt with smaller jars, but am trying to add a larger jar to my line. Large enough in diameter, than I'm thinking I'm going to have to double wick. I'm really good at estimating wick sizes for single wicks, and am generally right on the money. But I am totally clueless when it comes to doubling them. Any advice on a good way to calculate?
  6. In the spirit of fairness... I'm going to report that she contacted me a few minutes ago. Took my webhost contacting her first in order to get it done, but she has contacted me.
  7. I did pay via paypal, unfortunately I didn't fund it with credit card, meaning that I may or may not have much protection. I'm going to wait another week before filing... heck, I don't care if its done or not, I just want some sort of communication. Particularly with design, communication is key.
  8. I did fill out another inquiry form. Still nada. Thats what I get for not sticking with my instincts...
  9. Gotta give a rave for Peaks. Received my order from them today. I had ordered Ginger Peach FO, but received Georgia Peach. CS asked if I would be placing another order in the next couple of days, which I said no.. as I only order a few fragrances from Peaks under normal circumstances... so I maybe order once, twice a month if busy. So they are sending out my replacement today! Wish Peaks was closer... I'd use more from them!!
  10. Is there a way to do a read receipt with a yahoo email account?
  11. Now I'm officially irritated. Had a friend of mine fill out her inquiry form. She received a response about 30 minutes later. Still no response to my emails from almost a week ago.
  12. According to the persons site.. she was closed from the 24th-29th. I made payment a little over two weeks ago and have not heard anything since she sent me her questionnaire. I dont "think" she is a member here... really starting to regret not going with the person I had originally discussed building a site with. I'm not "concerned" yet... just irritated. When I am on "holiday".. I make sure to set up an autoresponder so that people aren't in the dark... really an important thing when doing business online, IMHO.
  13. I hate hate hate when a company has excellent communication and response time before the sale, but after the sale... NOTHING. I was looking for a web designer and emailed one with tons of questions... she was polite, professional, and very quick with all her responses. I finally decided to use her as my designer. I received one questionnaire from her asking what I was looking for exactly. I've sent her three emails since then with no response, not even an acknowledgement that she received my questionnaire. I don't mind people who are slow from the start, because then I know ahead of time what to expect... but when you are Ms. Customer Service before you have the money....
  14. Last year?? I'm already crying about what I've spent THIS month I hate having to count inventory at the end of the year so January is usually a buy buy buy kind of month.
  15. Well... In terms of data entry/typing... I type about 85 WPM and 14,000 KPH. But, I don't know much about websites. If all you need is someone to type in stuff into a preset place, I'm your girl.. but I definately can't code or anything like that.
  16. I prefer to give to local charities as opposed to nationwide ones... 1. Lakeside Community Theatre-- a local non-profit theatre group. When you have artistic kids in a state that loves its football, you learn to appreciate your local arts groups, no matter how small. 2. The Samaritan Inn- A homeless shelter that provides family shelter, job training and placement, and transition apartments. 3. A variety of animal rescue groups in the area. Primarily those that pick up animals from kill shelters and find them foster, and adoptive, homes. My percentages vary. I have some items that I donate at 100% from time to time... I donate items to silent auctions and other similar fundraisers as well.

    Tarts

I do the clamshells. For me, they are easier to pour, easier to store and I don't have to deal with a bunch of molds. I already have enough molds for my B&B stuff.
  18. I'm trying to make an all soy candle.... if I get too frustrated I may try combining them though!! So far its not too bad... miscalculated a couple of scents that are gonna need a major downwicking, but about 4 scents so far are burning nicely.
  19. If you are selling your lotion for 200 dollars more... I want the recipe This year has been big on the bath bombs, bath melts, bubble bars, and shower jellies. I have a loyal local following since I carry many items that a big name has but at lower prices Mineral eyeshadow samplers have been doing well too. Not doing as much with the candles right now, but I haven't been marketing them much either since I've been working on a new wax.
  20. Yes it is... but I would far rather attend the one held at NYIGF.
  21. For Bath and Body, EXTRACTS is one of the best, if not THE best, show to do. If I had the resources at my disposal I would be there in a heartbeat. That show is my ultimate goal. I want to be there within the next 5 years.
  22. Seeing as your primary line is bath and body, and you seem to be based out of Pennsylvania according to the contact info on your website... would make more financial/business sense to do the show in New York. Not only is it bigger and more attended, but it would be closer to you. There is even a category specifically for bath and body at the New York show, believe its called EXTRACTS. I'd probably avoid doing anything with candles at a trade show at this point seeing as you are still testing a lot of your wicking. You really need to have everything in order at these shows, as I'm sure you know. If you give off the impression of not knowing what you are doing, or not being able to deliver what you are trying to promise... the buyers will remember.
  23. I have a good friend who does 5-6 trade shows per year in both the B&B segment and in home decor.. she states that the shows have been very down for the past 9 months and do not seem to be getting much better. I've worked her Dallas show with her a couple of times.... sometimes they are wonderful and sometimes......not so much. Home decor is especially finicky, you really have to have something that sets you apart. Strongly scented candles just aren't enough. Bath and Body is a little easier at the trade shows, IMO.
  24. Yes, CS price on soy before shipping is 49. I get my soy locally at JBN for 62 (after my discount for orders of $250 or more, I do everything in bulk. Its 69 without the bulk order). So, no shipping charges.. otherwise it would be worth it to me at that price
