  1. That is something to consider, something you may want to look at. I too had looked at the new site and went to order three different bottles and had to rethink about the 50.00 minimum. I have talked to several others too that did the same thing. Just buying a whole pound, and then having to purchase 5 minimum of them, is a bit much for me right now to try out a new line. I like the new site, though.
  2. Wow!! Thanks for all that great information! I for one have not been taking advantage of all that simply because I fear it would be so over my head doing any of it. I am certainly going to check into it!!
  3. I love it!! Very easy to navigate and order. Everything looks wonderful.
  4. I was approached like that too. Beautiful antique mall. Tons of customers. Anyway, hubby and I went to take a look and decided the same thing as you.......booth rental (110.00) plus the amount of stock I would have to put in there to fill up a booth was just not feasible. Plus they got 10%. We gracefully declined. Two weeks later they contacted me again and offered a shelf space (I had a huge 6 tier ornate Spanish-type shelf that was my grandmother's that was too large for anything I have but kept it all this time) for 20% commission only, no booth space. This is an upscale antique mall so not a lot of children running around, so we thought not a lot of scratches and dents. Each person's booth is more like a mini store. It is fantastic. Anyway, we decided to try it. The first month was slow, but now the sales are unbelievable. The 20% does not hurt because I just upped my price a little to cover it. I can get about 50 or so candles (I do pillars) on it. I can check my sales every day on their site. It has worked for me under these circumstances. I would not do a booth either, but maybe they could work you a deal similar to this. HTH.
  5. I adore your combo colors!!! What is that bright blue??? They are all awesome and it would be so hard to choose a favorite. Really, really pretty. Do you use chips or liquid dye. I LOVE that blue!!!
  6. Okay, this just jumped out at me, but you may be wanting some more.......well I don't know. I'll just say it..........Pink Pixie Candles(if you are doing candles. Could modify to Products, etc. ). Okay, there!! I'll keep thinking but it does have a ring to it.
  7. Oooooooooooh!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!! Yes, I DID use the wrong term. Ahahahaha!!! Thanks again so very much!! I am going looking now!!!!
  8. Well those and the wooden type, more decorative ones? Well, even metal type I guess. I would like to get them in graduated sizes too. I have a booth in a mall and wanted them to display some of my pillars and also be able to sell the holders if anyone wanted to purchase them too. I have even looked at like florist supply places and they have them, but at retail prices.
  9. I am not sure if this is the place to post this but.......does anyone know of a place that sells pillar candle holders wholesale? I have searched every way I think and cannot find one that is actually a wholesale place. Even a starting point would be great. Thanks to everyone!!!!
  10. I absolutely think those are fantastic. I could not choose a favorite, I'd want them all. What is that bright blue? That is such a pretty color. Do you use dyes or chips? You coordinated them all so well!! Very, very nice.
  11. I use paraffin pillar and parasoy blend container and started using them a few months back for the same reason, to save on shipping. Absolutely gorgeous are Kudzu, Ginger Peach, Birthday Cake, and hot fudge brownie. Not so good for me were Birds of Paradise and Paper Whites. I have reordered tie Kudzu and Ginger Peach multiple times and will reorder them. They are fast and very helpful. It is definitely worth sampling, though.
  12. On sealing molds, I use "a man's fix-all" duct tape. It is wonderful. I use two short pieces, criss-crossed, making sure it is long enough to cover all of the rubber pin and wick. I use liquid dyes so do not have a fleck problem. I agree on weighing the FO and checking the temperature, and definitely warming if it is cold where you are. HTH.
  13. Oh much, much better. I think it is a perfect label!!! short, to the point, catchy............just beautiful!
  14. Those are fabulous!! I love the color combinations on each one. I could not pick out a favorite. Very, very nice I say!!
  15. Beautiful!!! What shade of blue is that? I love the swirls and the lime and blue and white. They are awesome and no wonder you won!!!
  16. Thank you! Yes, this wax will not hold much fragrance. If I go hardly any over 4% tops it bleeds like crazy. I must say, in desperation last night I tried an LX12 and it has the best throw yet. After about 30 minutes I could actually smell it in an enclosed room. Thanks for the tip on the flame too high. I got that with a lot of the trials too. To get a better throw on the mottle wax, since I need to go on and use it, is there a recommendation of what to add to get a better throw? Like maybe stearic or vybar? The mottling does not really matter. I have read 1 TBL per pound and then read 3 TBL per pound, and on the vybar too much is a killer. I think I answered my own question, though.....start at 1 TBL and go from there? Thanks so much for the help!!
  17. Hello everyone. I am using 4045H mottle wax and am making votives. I have tried the zinc core wicks, a couple from fil-tec, and HTP 41 and just do not get a great scent throw. Does anyone have any suggestions on something to try?? I just ordered a different mottling wax, the IGI1274. I get a great throw on my pillars using LX wicks so you would think......I have tried LX 8, 10 and now a 12 with no luck on the votives. Thanks for any help!!!!
  18. I love Candlescience FOs too. I have never gotten one I do not like. Their shipping is almost unbeatable, same day most of the time. Their Blackberry Marmalade, Honeysuckle Jasmine, Macintosh Apple, and that new watermelon to name a few are absolutely fantastic. Their Mistletoe is so great my customers asked me to rename it to something else and sell it year long!! That rating is very helpful and accurate too IMO. Alabaster has some fantastic oils too, although I have just started using them and have only ordered about half a dozen or so. Shipping is day of or next day there most of the time too. That counts when you are in a pinch and need your oil quick!!
  19. Oh!!! That is one party I hate I missed. All those beautiful colors. What a wonderful job you did. I absolutely love the assortment. Thanks for sharing that!! You do beautiful work!!
  20. THANK YOU!!! I do warm the mold and it seems with the 1274 the first layer gets the most mottling for sure. The subsequent layers are much less mottled! I pour using the 10 degree mark because it seems anything cooler will leave rough layer lines. I wait until each layer is set up enough to support the next layer but still liquid underneath. Your suggestion is definitely something I am gong to try. Thanks so much for taking time to tell me. I really want this wax to work for shipping charge purposes so I will try anything. Thank you again very very much!!!!
  21. Wow. Thanks for sharing. Yes, I wish they would leave well enough alone too. Once you get used to something, it seems they go and change it and you have to "figure" it out all over again.
  22. Congratulations!!!!! IT is very addicting. I do not do much with containers but maybe try a smaller wick??? I use the zinc core with glass containers. I'm sure someone else will come along with much better experience and tell you exactly what you need. This is a great board. Good luck and post pictures when you can!!
