  1. Those are beautiful!!!! I do the layers but not the wave!! How do you get it to wave like that? That is so pretty!!!
  2. If it is the trapped air not seen, how do you go about getting that out? I tap the molds and do large air holes ..........
  3. Oh thank you!!!! I did think of dust in the mold but I make sure to clean really well with mineral spirits and wipe completely dry....hey, could it be the mineral spirits do you think? Come to think of it, sometimes I run them through the oven and just wipe with a paper towel? Maybe we are on to something!!!!! Gosh I will try one with and one without. I have been racking my brain over what I do different!!!!
  4. I am going to try it too!! I felt one at a craft show that was so wonderful. She said it had beeswax in it so I am hoping it is the same one. It sounds so good and I love them!!!! Would you use a certain type mold? The one I tried was a round, almost flat, disk-like one.
  5. Does anyone know if there is a dup for Frasier Fir???

    tart help

When doing tarts what wax is best? A blend or straight paraffin? If you choose a blend do you pick one that has a higher FO load? TIA!
  9. I do rustic mottled pillars. Sometimes they come out with little pit-looking places on them, especially on the top and sides of the first layer (I do them in three layers). Anyway, does anyone have any idea what causes this? Sometimes it does not do this and sometimes it does. I cannot pin point an exact thing I do different. I heat the molds with a heat gun and pour first layer at 180 (have upped starting layer with 190) and then each layer 10 degrees hotter. Thanks for any help!!
  10. I hate to see them close too and fear more will follow. I know personally I have had to cut back "playing" and trying out new things. I only started this past July and there are still so many things I want to try. Oh well, I will just have to choose carefully for awhile. Maybe things will turn around soon!!!
  11. For those of you who do these, do you offer a certain amount of scents? Also, do you have a choice on containers??? I am getting ready to plan for one and was just wondering on choices. I have been reading about them on here and have gotten some really great information already. Thanks in advance.
