  1. I bought some Avery clear labels but they were cloudy, does anyone know where I can buy some crystal clear labels to put on the outside of my jars. So far I've tried different labels from Staples, WalMart, Office Max...stores of that nature but the labels are cloudy. http://www.jomalone.com/templates/products/mpp_category.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY7556
  2. I think I phrased my question strangely. I have my wholesale prices set, but a lady I know who use to own a boutique said when people would wholesale her items if she bought 1-25 cases of 8oz candles wholesale for example she would get a 5% discount and if she purchased 25-50 she would maybe get 8% off. I was wondering should I offer a discount like that? I'd rather not. I have my prices set and if my customer buys 100 cases the price is set but I do think it's a good idea to throw some in to burn as candlelady suggested. Any opinions?
  3. I'm working on pricing for my first wholesale order and I'm confused about discounts. At what point do you discount? For example, is there a discount for 1-4 cases or do you discount 1-25 items and the retailer gets 5% off. What percentage is the standard and what quantity of cases? Some of my cases hold 6 and some hold 12. I'm giving her pricing tomorrow and I want to completely seal this deal.
  4. Thanks again, I'm going up there Saturday to check out their jars.
  5. I didn't know there was a candle place in Grand Prairie, well what do ya know! Thanks so much for this info, they have lots of things I'm looking for.
  6. They are?? I've never poured using them before, I'll have to check out walmart and ace . I was hoping I could find a wholesaler, and buy in bulk. Thanks.
  7. I usually order my glass from Riekers but they don't have the mason jars I need. I want the kind that have Mason on the side like the ones at the bottom of the page. http://newcart.candlesandsupplies.com/Store/Products/Candles/Containers%2c+Jars/Ball%2c+Mason+Jars/Default.aspx Does anyone know where I can get them in Dallas, TX? I want to try to avoid shipping as much as possible and I'd rather not go to Triple AAA or Taylored Concepts, they mark them up to high. TIA
  8. No I'm not charging for these samples, no wick, and I'm not filling them completely up. I've decided I'm only giving out a few samples as scent samplers. I wish there was an easier way, besides pouring batches of samples, but folks are so picky, if they can't smell it they don't want to buy it. Thanks for your help.
  9. I order my glass from a wholesaler who gets them directly from Libbey, it’s listed in Libbey’s Special Market catalog like the example below. So 7/8 is not .875, I think I found that on the internet I’ll have to look that up again and get an accurate number. I’m not sure how much each little glass holds, their so small but I definitely don’t want to deceive my customers. How do I find out exactly how much each little glass holds. I use to have a friend who did all this for me, know I’m left to my devices and I’m having a hard time but I need to know how. 7/8 oz. Sampler Container No. 5071 7⁄8 oz./2.6 cl./26 ml. H21⁄16 T13⁄8 B13⁄16 D13⁄8 SCC 068194
  10. Yes that's what I wanted to do but your suggestions sounds much better. I use to dip perfume strips in oil and put them in little baggies, but the fragrance smells different in the wax plus it didn't look as professional to some of my customers. So I changed that, little samples go over much better. Thank you so much for your help!
  11. I’m making sample candles and I’m not sure how much fragrance to use. I normally pour a 16oz or 32oz batch and anything left over goes into my sample glasses. I’m having a hard time trying to figure out how much fragrance to use for 1 glass. I’m guessing a drop or two but I was hoping someone’s done this before and has specifics. I’m using: 4630 Wax 4/8 oz (.875oz) Sampler Container by Libbey #5071
  12. So is this it? https://epay.propay.com/ I'm with Intuit and they are killing me, I pay $49 a month and I have to sell a minimum of $25. When I stared taking payments online it went from $39 to $49 and that was the last straw. I'm loosing money while I'm trying to get my site organized.
  13. Thanks for your help, I'll give it a try this weekend.
  14. Thanks for your reply. I made two wickless candles and 12 tarts. I am not in love with IGI 1313, it was really hard to deal with. I had heck breaking it up, I had to go outside and bang it on the ground. To much work. I'm passing out samples to my friends to test and I'll test some as well. I'm almost positive I won't use 1313 anymore once I'm finished with the slab I have. After your post, I searched around the site and it seems I can make wickless canldes with 4630 and tarts with it as well. I think I'll try that, 4630 is easy to deal with and it smells great hot and cold and I can just use the wax I have instead of buying more wax.
  15. I guess no one has an opinion on this one way or the other.
  16. I have 3 candles line, and I change names across the board. So far it's worked for me.
  17. I'm trying my hand at wickless candles this weekend. AAA suggested I use IGI 1313, so I could get the dual use to use them with pillars. I did a search but I didn't see much about this type of wax, I know I need to add Vybar but outside of that I have no direct instructions. Do I need to mix it with parrafin wax, I currently have 4630. How much Vybar do I use? I'm assuming I should use the same amount of FO. I want them to smell as strong as Scenty. I have a sample in car that melted a little on my coffee cup and my car smells like perfume. I wonder what they are using? I have my molds ready to go, as well as some jars I'm looking forward to experimenting. TIA!
  18. **Update** I colored them the same color as the perfume and lotion bottle, and I used 4630 wax. She bought 2 9oz Salsa Jars, 2 4oz and I gave her a 1oz Oil for her oil burner. My friend burned the candles this past weekend, she said they were not nearly as strong as my other candles, but she enjoyed the clean fresh scent. She thinks they'll be great for someone with allergies. I don't think I'll add this one to my candle line, its not strong enough for me. Thanks for the input and help everyone! I'm now on the hunt for some Yankee Candle duplicates, I received a catalog the other day and the scratch and sniff scents are fabulous.
  19. Thanks for the input, I'm going to give it a try. I'll let let everyone know how it throws with 4630. :smiley2:
  20. Has anyone tried Lone Star Candle Happy Scent? How's the hot/cold throw. I'm thinking about buying some but I haven't been able to find any reviews. I'm making a batch for a friend of mine and if it's a hit, I'll add it to my line. TIA!!
  21. I've been looking for a dup of this too, who is NG?
  22. I found these coasters and my plan to customize them with my companies Logo and use them for Air Fresheners. They are on sale (min 500, promo code COLE0309) I read in another thread that coasters work, but I wanted to know if this is the right kind of coaster material. It's a White high density 60 point pulp board coaster. Anyone use this type before? As an alternative, if these coasters don't work I plan on ordering blank air fresheners, and ironing on a print of some sort. I found a company that will sell air fresheners with the string attached and the clear wrapper but they are more expensive than the coasters. Thanks in advance. http://promotionprint.logomall.com/ProductDetail/ProductDetail.aspx?Ntt=sc60&Ne=50&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&BWS=0|1&N=0&DPSV_Id=202427&No=0&Ntk=WordSearch&Nr=LMSiteEligibility:1&id=7291470&pSRVC_Id=65
