  1. I know I posted before but I wanted to add that my chamber offers a discounted yearly rate to Home Based businesses. You might ask about that. The networking is very beneficial. I am very active in my chamber though. I am chair of the Small Business Committee and co-chair fo the Women in Business Committee so I have a different view than most. Our chamber is very active in the community. I would say look over the benefits, join for a year and if you don't feel it is worth your money, don't renew. Also your membership dues are a tax deduction.
  2. I use a sryinge like you get for childrens liquid cough syrup. You don't want to fill too much or they will squish out when you seel them. I have small ones from KB and they hold approx. 1/5oz. They are great as the customer gets just enough to sample but don't cost a lot to make and give away as a promo item. edited. .. I use a flat iron from walmart the ones for straitening hair. I got it for $10 as I don't have a heat sealer yet. Just make sure you let it get good and hot. It works like a charm.
  3. I love making lotions and linen sprays. If you email me directly ( am not sure if I can post links here) I will give you the vendors I use and some places for starting recipes.
  4. I too struggle with lip balms mine smell great but have no taste. And I have tried numerous Flavor oils and they are all bitter. I have thought about using splenda as a sweetener but corn syrup or glucose might work too. I will have to do some testing this week.
  5. I started with a yahoo group then went to bravenet but like the templates with Constant Contact.
  6. I agree with Jenny all the money up front in a bank cashiers check. Never can be too careful.
  7. I am very lucky our chamber is great for networking. I have gotten some large sales due to being a chamber member. Also our has River City Gold that consumers can spend at local chamber memeber businesses. I can now accept this and it comes in handy at home parties and craft shows when I mention I take river city gold. To me it is worth the $30/quarter.
  8. I like 2 and 3 but I am sure you already have decided.
  9. I totally agree about SFIC. It is the only base I use. Definitely try to get in on a Co-op otherwise there are a few suppliers out there that carry it.
