  1. Thank you for you quick reply and the site. I really appreciate it! Hope you have a great week-end. Joy
  2. Oh gee it is me again. As I was reading through the old posts I came across people talking about heavier and lighter FO, could somebody please explain to me how you can tell which is heavy and which is lighter? I feel so stupid sometimes, there is so much to learn. I am so glad that there is a forum like this to help us beginners. Thanks again!
  3. Hi everyone, I was wondering if somebody could give me an idea how to make up a chart for note taking when I am making candles. Since I am pretty new to this and could never take good notes in school I would really appreciate it. I read somewhere in a forum that there was a chart but I have yet to find it. So if somebody would not mind helping me out I would be very grateful and who knows hopefully someday I will be wise enough to help other people out!:smiley2: Thank you, Joy
  4. What type of wax do you use? I have ordered from them and have also spoken to Diane on the phone more than once. She is very nice and tries her best to be very helpful. I go through Front Royal every time I go back home to Elma NY which is in the Western NY area. I will be passing through your town again in a couple of weeks. Thanks for your advice on Candle Science
  5. Thank you for your replys I sure do appreciate them!
  6. Hey thanks again. Yes I double checked and it is glass glow palm. I can't believe the prices for shipping wax! I live in the Charlotteville area of Va so Candle Science is the closest for me. Where are you from? I think this forum is great it sure can help you out if people are nice enough to answer your questions like you did mine. Joy
  7. Thanks I will but how do I get to it? I did see a list of favorites that I looked through somewhere today but do not remember where. In the one I looked at nobody had coffee listed. thanks for your help
  8. Is there anybody out there who has used the FO scent coffee, just coffee? I am using palm glass glow container wax and also cargile C3 at least I think that is what it is called. I love the scent of coffee but in looking at the lists that were provided about what scents throw good in soy and palm I did not see a coffee one listed anywhere. Yankee Candle used to have coffee and it smelled so good people would walk in and say how nice my home smelled. It made me want to have a cup with a big fat piece of chocolate cake or something sweet like that!! thanks, Joy:smiley2:
  9. Thank you very much I will go there and print it out so I have it to refer to when I am trying to read some of these posts. Have a great day!! Joy
  10. I am new to this forum and candle making. Can someone please tell me if there is somewhere that tells what all the abbreviations stand for.:undecided Thanks
  11. Thanks I guess I will have to try that. I had someone tell me that it did not make a difference which wax you used for what as long as it worked. Is that the reason that the top of the votives would push in like that though? I can't believe how expensive shipping is for wax. I did not pay that much to have a desk shipped! Where do you purchase your wax from and what kind of palm do you use? Also which do you think is the best soy to work with. I have some of the the Cargile C3 I think it is called. I bought a kit from lone star for making soy candles but have not even tried that yet. I am a little nervous after reading all of the problems everyone seems to have. :undecided Thanks for your quick response Joy
  12. Hi, I have made votives several times out of the glass glow palm container wax. They come out of the molds fine the only problem is that with many of them if I push a little on the top they kind of cave in about 1/4 of an inch. I wondered if anybody could tell me why. It does not happen to all of them. Also I made tarts out of the same wax and the only problem I have is that they are very oily when I take them out of the molds and also after I burn them in a tart burner and take them out the piece they were in is also oily! Any suggestions as I am new to all of this and could use all the help that I can get.:undecided Thanks in advance for any help you can give to me.
