  1. I sure wish I had a supplier that I could drive to and save $$$$....Boy I say if you have one near by I'd be testing and testing and would make that wax work! lol Trappeur
  2. If you do get a wood lid from one of the suppliers, staining would be awesome, but you first need to sand the lid to get the satin finish off, then stain and put a clear coat on top and you might want to let them sit a while because of the stain smell.....but it would definitely work. Trappeur
  3. I myself have never had a problem with Bittercreek....I ordered 1 time from Candles and Supplies and they all released and I had over 35 candles made....What a horror that was that I don't even want to think about again..... Oh you'll get some here and there that might be a little hard to pull off the paper but no biggy.... Trappeur
  4. Hello Grama, I used it in a container...... I'd go and try it and see what happens......It beautiful to look at with all the sparkles.... Trappeur
  5. The only thing that I can contribute to this post is that I found that using the dust clogged my wicks and you have to use it sparingly.......Well thats what I had to do..... Trappeur
  6. I called them and they said it would be 6 weeks b/4 they come in and they only come in the black but they were thinking of doing them in the rust.... Trappeur....Thanks everyone!
  7. Thanks everyone! I've checked csp and wsp and nothing on their website...Guess I better email them..... If anyone has any other sources, sure would appreciate it! Thanks. Trappeur
  8. I can't remember where I used to buy the metal band with handle that goes around the neck of the candle jar....Can anyone help? Thankyou! Trappeur
  9. I wasn't sure where to post this, so put it here.... Does anyone know where I can buy some fairy embed molds? Thankyou! Trappeur
  10. Quick question Mary... I'd love to look at your site....Can you tell me the name of it? Thanks. Trappeur
  11. Hi Mary, Thanks for such a quick response...Oh, I would definitely be interested in help...As far as a showcase or a cart? Whats the difference? I did say in my post I was not computer literate! lol I think I'm very capable of doing my own, will take time I know but like I said I'm good learner...I have looked at so many sites who build them for you and DIY shops but have never came across anything whatsoever of the type design I have in my head....but then that leads to custom and I know you pay for custom but the prices vary and I don't know if that is all they do and how do you get up on the google search.... If you could email me, that would be wonderful! Thankyou for even offering to help me.... Trappeur
  12. OMG!!!Ladysj:laugh2: :laugh2: You mean there are others out there like me? You sound just like me! lol, lol I've been following this post (this is chapter #2 thread right)? I'm really thoroughly now confused! With all this computer lingo I'm really lost...I don't know what a HCM user is all the way to a bot to a code to a meta thing is...And then Mozilla and Safari? What in the world is that? A place to go on vacation? You mean you have to know what all this greek mumbo jumbo is b/4 you even get a website up? I do know what a link is though! lol I have been thinking for a long time now of having my own website and have made lots of notes of things I would like in my website one day. Even when I'm just browsing the internet and come to a site that I really love, I'll make a note of it and what I liked about that particular site like the presentation, the colorway, the way of the easiness of navigating around the site and even the buttons. I read on this thread that is now going, that frames (not quite sure what they are), buttons, etc could hurt your site from someone visting your site as far as the search engine goes...But then again there are sites that I absolutely love and they are right up there on page #1 of the google search and they all have these things....Probably because they pay to be #1 right? With all you computer experts here on this thread right now, my question is just this and its in plain laymans english words that we all can understand.... For the person who would like to attempt a website where do you suggest a start and who do you recommend? I guess the biggie question is what should we know before we hire someone or try ourselves? How do we know that the company we hire or even a DIY site is going to get us up in lights on a google search and how do we stay there and maintain our site so we can at least be in the pickings for the person googling under maybe these words: Soy Candles :laugh2: I probably look pretty stupid here posting these questions, but I'm thinking, are there any others out there like me who know nothing about the computer world and basically all they know is to hit the on/off switch to their computer and surf! But I'm a good listener and learner... Trappeur
  13. Hello Nanny, Unfortunately, I went thru the same delamas as you and hate to say it, but the frosting will be back and probably right back immediately... that is for sure....The fading might come back after a while but I use the Bittercreek uv and it works wonderful...I would definitely add the uv stabelizer...I love Bittercreeks and what a difference it made in my candles! The uv stabelizer did not help any frosting isssues with me what so ever and as much as I put out signs explaining the nature of frosting and it just being a characteristic for customers to see, it bothered me immensely and just couldn't stand what they looked like! You don't know how many candles I would bring back from my shop and other shops that my candles are in and melt them down, bring them back the next day, and then walk back in the following day to see the ugly frosting! I have gone with no dye now and JUST LOVE IT...... Florescent lights are a killer....But you really shouldn't have a problem once you use the uv stabelizer.... Know you probably hate seeing this, but hope this helps a little. Trappeur
  14. I use the keepsake jar - 24oz which has a 3" opening and is 6" tall and the htp 126 is perfect for me....and I single wick it... For the smaller 16oz jar which is also the same opening but 4" tall I go with the htp 1212 because of the height of the jar..but maybe you can start on your jar with a 126... But my wax is c-3. 15. Hello everyone! I use c-3 and would love to know the bomb throwing scents you use for your c-3. I need to get some new scents...... I love the rustic woodsy scents, bakery scents and vanillas....I'm open to any and all suggestions....I would also like to get some clean/fresh scents and don't have any florals, so that too.... Thanks so much! Trappeur
  16. Coal Creek is in Tennessee Candle Science is in New Durham, NC Trappeur
  17. The only thing I can say is Are you selling any of these soaps? Totally way too cool and awesome!!!!! Trappeur
  18. Hello! I'm shopping around for a new style jar and see a lot of people order from Anchor Hocking....Went to the site and no prices? For the ones who order from them, is there a minimum you have to order? Also if you could, the ones who do order from them could you put up here what style jars you order from Anchor Hocking and what price you pay just so I could have a starting point...Thanks. Trappeur
  19. Hey Toni! How the heck are ya? So did you take the step and go "au naturelle", lol.....? On certain scents I do too notice the slight discoloration...but its really no biggy for me....At times when it bothers me when I'm burning my own candles here at home I take a spoon and just scrape the dinginess off the top....don't know why, but I do at times....lol And there is a big difference for me by adding the uv stabelizer....It keeps them the natural color otherwise I have brownish/tannish edges starting to appear....but otherwise I love the natural....! Trappeur
  20. Hello, When you say you add coconut oil to even out the wax what do you mean by that? And the coconut oil what did you find by using it that made the wax better? I use c-3 myself and just don't quite understand....Thanks so much! Trappeur
  21. Hello, I feel your pain as I have gone through all the trials and tribulations as what you are going through now....I use c-3 also and from my experience what I have learned as far as frosting goes is that there isn't much you can do for this occurance as it is just one of the characteristics of this wax...You name it, I've tried it and I have just learned to accept the frosting should it occur...Some people it just doesn't bother them...With me, it does....That is why I have now resorted to going all natural and the frosting virtually all becomes extinct...I may have a few wet spots here and there but I've learned to accept that and actually most everyone doesn't even notice it should it happen....As far as what your candles look like on the tops I used to have that too. Now I don't...What is your procedure when you make your candles? This is how I do mine and they now come out just about perfect everytime depending on the temperature in my house.... I melt to 185 and immediately add my uv stabelizer and fragrance oil and stir.......Then let it cool down a bit.... I pour at 175..... I usually do have to do a cap off (2'nd pour)...depending on the temperature as I said in my house as I might have a slight crack or indentation...... I slightly warm my jars too.....but I don't put them in the oven to cure......as when I did, they came out just like yours..... I love the c-3 and have just accepted the fact there there really is no perfect 1 pour wax with no frosting or wet spot issues.... Hope this clears your mind a bit... Trappeur
  22. Me too, can't find the prices..... Trappeur
  23. I use the 24oz keepsake jars and live in Georgia....Would really appreciate it if anyone could give a list of companies that offer them that I am not aware of? I would love to be able to order them without the lids but am dealing with getting them with the lids and just not using the glass lids that come with them and order my rusty lids....Thanks so much! Also if anyone uses these jars could you advise what size wicks you use for them - either double or single? Presently I use the htp 126 wick (1)...I'm thinking of testing some new wicks.....Thanks again! Trappeur
  24. If I'm not mistaken, when I spoke to the Jar Store, they also told me the studio jar is being discontinued.....I also found this jar on a few of sites and have been also told they are being discontinued...I love this jar also and was going to order them but after finding out this I decided against....
