pretty soaps...the facial scrub sounds nice, ive never used grits in a scrub before, that sounds really cool
-
ty all
yeah im definitely a bath bomb addict i love a nice round bomb but i love to see what i can come up with that is different and fun too
i use a wooden dowel as a plunger to pack that stuff down, i mean it packs it tight with just 3 good bangs with the dowel, no crumbling at all
IMO you can then use more goodies in your bath bombs, dried lav or roses because you are really compacting that stuff
-
sleep? what is that? LOL the only time its quiet in my house is at night LOL
i use just about anything i can find to make a bath bomb, measuring cups, little bowls i save, these are made with a piece of pvc pipe, i cant remember where i read to use pipe, but its really my fav way to make bath bombs, you can really pack that stuff down and they never crumble

i made these tonight, bath bomb cakes that bubble
Lemon Meringue- the bottom is scented birthday cake, and of course the middle is Lemon, topped off with some meringue (cupcake icing)
Cherry Bomb -same bottom, black cherry middle, topped off with cherry frosting and a few crystal sugar sprinkles
-
those look very nice, the body buff looks wonderful !!!

im a soapin fool lately
its like you cant stop once you start, youre throwing folks out of the kitchen, everything is a potential mold!!! im on soap overload LOL
tonight its more bath bombs and im gonna try some bath melts with my own little twist
for my bath bombs i use a piece of pvc pipe and a wooden dowel, just run through your local lowes or home depot like a fool with different sizes of pvc pipe and start inserting wooden dowels into them for a good fit LOL

it was really fun, i cant wait to do some more, i have to brush up on my decorating skills, maybe take another wiltons class at the craft store
you just gotta be careful because it does look like frosting and it can get messy, i highly recommend keeping your gloves, and long sleeves on when doing this and definitely keep your work surface covered with something
-
thank you very much ladies
the topping right now is the meringue recipe but im still trying to develop a better "frosting" without sugar, whipped CP is looking really good right now instead of the meringue and sugar
im thinking the royal frosting (meringue) could hold (like glue) the whipped CP flowers ontop of bathbombs instead of the entire thing being tons of sugar, you wouldnt have to make as much meringue royal frosting just enough to dab and glue soap flowers or whatever you create ontop of the bombs
-
ok i did the whip..and whipped it good!!! Im in love with this process of soap making, i didnt scent as i just wanted to try and play to see how it was
here are my little pastery doodles
-
thank you all so much
the little strawberries are clear MP and i put just a touch of the strawberry POP mica and they are so shiny and pretty depending on how the light hits them they just glitter a bit
i really need to try that whipped soap so i can make purty flowers with my pastery baggy
-
ok so i took the plunge and made my first CP, its not so good lookin but at least it sorta looks like soap, i was freaked the whole time i was making it but its quite simple and fun and im happy with my first lil batch:o
i didnt want to overdue the mica so i was a bit skeered with it, but its a nice green (not blue..like my horrid piccy taking) and the scent is pear
Berry MP soapies for my daughter to use she loves strawberries N cream
Lavender Bath Bomb with a swirly of icing

actually i really do prefer to wrap mine in saran or cling wrap, sometimes you get a nice big bar or a odd shaped bar that is just plain difficult to get into a shrink wrap baggie and then when you actually shrink it, well it looks funky
cello bags are awesome, tight saran or cling wrap is awesome too, you could even put a cigar band type of label around them with the wrap and a nice ribbon or raffia, gives it that "made with love and care" look
-
if its just for family use i wrap mine tight in saran wrap, slap a label with the scent and keep them in a basket in the closet so the family can grab one when they want
if im giving them away i will shrink wrap them and put them in a soap box with a label
-
yeah these folks are totally full of it.
isnt there about 200 to 500 mg of caff. in a cup of coffee depending on the coffee, and strength its brewed at
"shock" umm yeah i suppose if youre rubbing soap with peppermint oil all over yourself in a hot shower, when you actually step out and that cool air hits your bottom you feel tingly all over
the things some folks will buy without reading ingredients still makes me laugh sometimes

ive used that base and it definitely doesnt lather with or without color
my skin was dry and itchy after using it, its not something i would order again
now the goats milk base and the honey base are nice from wsp but again not very lathery (is that a word? ) so i definitely add alil something to them

just a thought on the stained glass look...
i know i read somewhere about making shapes from pie tins, or aluminum (cant remember where i read it) but anyway...
what if you printed out a template for a stained glass picture i know you can find many of these on the web
then bent the aluminum into the shapes
i would cool them in the fridge or freezer
i would trace the design onto paper with a marker
lay it into my mold(guessing it would it have to be like a slab mold depending on the size of the pic)
i would probably cool the mold in the fridge also
then i would melt, color, fragrance the soap and either pipe or gently pour it into the shapes, just enough to get a good shape..not to thick..stick in the fridge, if it leaked i would trim the leakage off and proceed with the next shape
once all the shapes are poured maybe spray lightly with alcohol and do a clear overpour
i dunno :undecided maybe it would work, i'll have to try it when my shipment of base comes
ok im done brain-storming

mmmm food looking soaps...i love anything that looks like yummy sweet goodies
im wondering if you could roll the mp like candle wax to make those lil cinnabons like when you do the jelly roll type of soapies or maybe something to look like a twinkie or strawberry shortcake
-
those look wonderful, i love the fact that you can see the oatmeal in them, i'll take 3 no 4 ok 5 bars LOL
-
definitely additives, suspending without everything floating to the top and having to hold it under...ummmm, so many things now i forgot them all
swirling is a difinite, and textured tops...whipping is another one ive tried and can never get right because it cools fast and just sticks in my pastery bag
-
that is a beautiful shaker and great idea
-
if its a nice scent i usually mix up rock salt, color, and the scent, put it all in a ziplock baggie over night, then put it in little sachet drawstring bags and give them to people as car air freshners (i secretly hang some in my 14yr old sons room) since i can never find the sorce of "THAT SMELL" in there LOL
-
that looks like it should be strawberries n cream..yummy
-
i think its lovely, it has all the color tones of a sunset or sunrise over water, i love the caribbean names also
-
i would assume unless youre trying to shrink wrap them, using a heat gun for drying?? but then again you can turn your oven on a very low temp and dry them too
