  1. Contact the Manager at your local Wal-Mart store and tell them you will need canning jars in October'ish (for example) be sure and get the SKU# off of the box. He should give you a 1-800# and you can order them over the phone and that way you can just go pick them up and not have to pay shipping. Just be sure and verify that you can get them that time of year. I had them order in some containers about 2 years ago and everything worked out fine. Hope this helps!!
  2. You might try Chemessence, they have some that you are looking for.
  3. I purchased mine from Wal-Mart also. When I have to defrost my freezer, I use my heat gun!!! Works great:D
  4. I was thinking what can I do that would be different on my clam-shells??? Thinking about 4th of July, so I have decided to do the following in the 6 cavity clam-shells: Pour the first row across (red) and the FO will be Hot Apple Pie, 2nd row (middle) some type of Vanilla (off-white) and the last row Blueberry Muffin (Blue) So that way - you come up with red, white and blue. I think it will look nice and that way the customer gets 3 different FO's in one container, they have to LOVE that. I was thinking about the other holidays: Valentine's day: White or off-white, pink and red. St. Patrick's day: White or off-white, medium green and then a darker green. Easter: pink, yellow and purple. Halloween: orange, dark purple and black. Thanksgiving: orange, tan/brown and green. Christmas: burgundy or red, white (off-white) and green.
  5. Hey I was just going to let the people that live in the Northeast of Oklahoma that the 12 oz. Libbey cubes (containers) from Dollartree are backordered. I placed an order 6-6-08 and they were suppose to be in today and I called the store, it did not show my order. So he gave me this phone# 1-877-530-8733 and I called it to confirm that my order was placed and he said yes, but it was backordered. I asked why did they not notify me by cell phone or e-mail of this information, no explanation. Oh well, I guess I will wait til the warehouse gets them in, I have no choice. I was going to let everyone know that the above phone# you can actually call and speak to someone and place your order that way, (you will need the SKU# - 6 digits - and the store# of where you want the items to be shipped) if you don't want to do it on the computer just call them and place the order. Honestly, that is what I will start doing from now on. That way I will know if they are in stock or not. This really messes me up, puts me a week behind schedule now. I mean, I have some containers but I need alot more. I have had some unexpected phone calls about candles coming in, so the stock is started to get low. Just thought this might help some of you wonderful people - you guys are the BEST!!!!
  6. Yes, they are and I love them. Were I live, there are not any candles poured in this container, so they sell really well. The container is a nice thick glass.
  7. I live in Oklahoma and I have been purchasing the 12 oz. Libbey cube (square) containers from Dollar Tree in the store and found out thru this board that I can order them on line. I ordered them and it said basically, if I have the items shipped to the store, free shipping, but when I went to check out it said $4.95 for shipping. Oh well, I am still getting them at a bargain. I was just going to let everyone know. I don't know if it is in all the states or what. Hope everyone has a great weekend. It's raining here:sad2:
  8. Thank you for the info. I previously made a candle for my boss's son and he wanted blueberry muffin FO and the color of the candle he wanted was navy blue and I put UV in it and he had not burned it all and it turned an ugly - ugly brown! I don't know what else to do about it. Nobody has complained, I guess because the FO is so great. I just saw that and was embarrassed because of how the candle looked and I guess he was the only one that had not burned it all the way. He had been pretty busy, he moved 3 times w/in a short period of time.
  9. What about: Feel the white sand touch the tips of your toes as the sea tide rolls in on a warm summer's eve. Sorry, I have never smelled it so I can't say much. I know what you mean, sometimes there is so much going on w/the FO's, you just can't put your finger on it.
  10. I make soy candles, but would like to know if I can use the vanilla color stabilizer in my candles, the same that people use in the soap? I did a post on the board (under vegetable wax) but I still don't have an answer, so I thought I would post it here and see if anyone can help me. The reason I wanted to know is, my number one seller on my candles is blueberry muffin and it has 10% vanilla in it and since I don't dye my soy candles, after awhile they start turning colors. Normally I don't add any additive's but I might have to start. Thank you for your help in advance.
  11. If you have a HTP 105, I would try that it worked for me!!! Since it is soy, you might look and see what the normal size for that container and then go up 1 size or possibly 2 sizes on the wick. Good Luck!!!
  12. I use GB415 soy wax and I do not dye my candles. I was ordering some of my FO the other day and came across vanilla color stabilizer (it was in the category soap) I was wondering, can this be used in making candles? It does not say anything about NOT using in candles. The fragrance I was ordering has 10% vanilla in it and since I don't dye my candles it does change the color of the candle somewhat from the other candles. I have even had some of my no dye candles turn a yellowish/ugly color. If I can't use it, is there something out there I can use other than UV inhibitor? Thank you in advance.
  13. I only purchased a pound of it and I purchased 2 lbs. of alot of other FO and the wedding cake was the best, naturally since I only purchased a pound!
  14. I have not purchased any from Peak's, but did purchase some when they first came out from Wholesalesuppliesplus and I did use blueberry muffin FO and it smelled yeaky about a week later after I opened up the container! It was a plastic/fuelly smell. I just saw in your post it must have been the vanilla that is in the FO, it has 10%. I had not heard that before. Do you think a vanilla neutralizer will help with that then in the clam shells? Blueberry muffin from them is my #1 seller and I would like to make the clam shells but afraid too.
  15. I ordered some wedding cake FO from Cierra Candles prior to her closing and OMG - it is SUPER!!! HOT AND COLD THROW!!! I have checked my other 5 suppliers and they do not carry it, does anyone know where I can get some of this at? Thank you in advance.
  16. I have purchased mine from WSP & Peak's, they both smell the same, I am not a Patchouli person but I do sell it to the same ladies all the time. One of the ladies name is Mary, she asked if I had the fragrance oil, I told her no, but I would get it and it would take me awhile to test it and then I would give her a call. She was really happy to hear from me and I put on the label Mary's Patchouli - She loved it, so that is what I call it now, she buys about 5 or 6 at a time and loves it, she even has some of her co-worker's ordering it from me now.
  17. Totally agree with Holly. I have never dyed my candles. I have only had one customer ask me why are they all the same color and I told her, that way you can purchase any fragrance you want and it will go w/the color scheme in your home since they are white/off white and she said great!!! Do you have any cucumber melon and I sold her 4 of them. She said she loves the smell but can not stand the green color of the candle. I also agree with some other people here on the board, my mom (before we started making candles) would first go by the color of the candle because of the decor of the room and fragrance 2nd. I will for my close friends dye candles for them if they want it and the funny thing is they want the blueberry muffin fragrance but want the color to be burgundy, so that's what they get. I think as long as you have some color on your label or around your display, naturally that will help. Good Luck!
  18. Check the phone book and pick out a couple of Independent Agents, they have alot of companies they go thru and will find you the cheapest. I have been in insurance for over 20 years and make candles on the side. I live in Oklahoma and I paid $500 per yr. for 1 million w/a -0- ded. Be sure and see if there is a ded. sometimes there is and it can be $250 or $500 deductible. I would be sure and get the quote in writing before signing any papers.
  19. I am using GB 415 - soy, 10% FO and no dye. Diameter is 3 inches. I started with the following wicks and they are not working: 51C, 60C, 62 Zinc (just for the heck of it) HTP 105 and I guess I will move up to HTP1212. Any suggestions are welcome. Before I put this thread on here, I did search this formum and did not come up with anything. I was going to let everyone know that I found these glass containers at Dollar General for $1.00 they are 7.5 oz's and the ones I purchase at Dollar Tree are 12 oz. containers for $1.00. I was really thinking, that they would be pretty easy to wick, so this really surprises me. It took me awhile w/the 12 oz. containers also, I had to double wick them. Thank you everyone in advance. I know if I would not have this board, I would have thrown the towel in along time ago.
  20. I live in Oklahoma and I purchase my Vanilla Bean from Scenturycandles.com in Muskogee, OK. It is the best, I have previously ordered the fragrance from apprx. 6 different Companies and their's is the best.
  21. I have ordered some items previously from Candlesoylutions and I went on their website today and it says they have soy based FO's. Do you think they mean, these are the FO's that they found to work best in soy or is there really something to this? Would like your opinions. Thank you in advance!!! They use to have a business in Oklahoma, but has since moved to Oregon. I purchase the warning labels from them. They have a 2 inch warning label, that they can customize for you.
  22. Thank you for your opinions, I think I will order some samples from Backwoods. I have been ordering from Chemessence, a local dealer, peaks and wholesalesuppliesplus. I live in Oklahoma and even the so called local dealer, I have to drive 45 minutes to get there and her FO's are high (but good) I usually just purchase my wax there. I think for now I will ship them. I sure like it when the Companies have (if you purchase $100 or more, free shipping) I did see that they had a sale on them and if I got enough good responses from this board I was going to purchase some samples. Thank you again, everyone on this board is so helpful!!! You guys are the BOMB!!!!
