  1. There's plenty of info out there now that wasn't there 3 years ago! And spray bottles do make more sense too. Guess I just have to get the right bears and the right grooming tool now. I'm wondering if the vanilla in the sugar cookie scent might have had something to do with your bear turning brown. I know it can be a problem in making cold process soaps so I suppose it's possible. A friend of mine calls me a chemist just because I make candles Sheryl
  2. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent in the galleries (both old and new) just in awe of everyone's creations! But your bears are out of this world! So do you sell little dropper bottles with the bears and recommend the hair dryer for freshening the scent? I sold one bear and it went back East so I never did find out how long it lasted Sheryl
  3. I wasn't using the best bears for the job either so that could have been it too. The reason I asked is that the bears that I've seen on this board don't look like they have wax on them...they're so fluffy and soft looking. They make my feeble attempts look really lame! Thanks for the input everyone! Sheryl
  4. Like I said once before, I've been out of the loop for a while and now see some beautiful Teddy Bears in the gallery. What's the method most people are using to scent them these days? Infusion or dipping? I tried the dipping and, while I was a rookie at it, I wasn't really happy with the outcome. Any and all suggestions are welcomed. TIA Sheryl
  5. I knew I could count on this group for direction! I live 60 miles from any of the Michael's, JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby stores and my Wally World is a wannabe where being big is concerned unfortunately. But I can definitely check Wixnwax and fooscookiecutter.com! Thanks again Sheryl
  6. I see a lot of really interesting Ornie shapes in the gallery archives used in candles and just as scent Ornies. Could someone tell me where to find such cute cookie cutters? TIA Sheryl
  7. Can't wait to try my hand at layers! I got my 1343 yesterday and it's hiding behind the front door! Sheryl
  8. I edited a couple of times and then previewed and all looked fine...that is until I posted! Sorry bout that SatinDucky! Thanks Garf...he says he has that size bit...now finding it with his strange sense of organizational skills might be another story! We'll find out on Sunday! Sheryl
  9. Wait til I add this to DH weekendWait til I add this to DH weekend chore list! You guys are the best...lovin this board more and more!!! Sheryl chore list! You guys are the best...lovin this board more and more!!! Sheryl
  10. I've seen them in the past 3 years a dozen times, but now that I've decided to ask DH to fix them for me, I'm at a loss for finding them. Any suggestions out there? TIA Sheryl
  11. The wealth of information and shared experiences as well as a real sense of community gets me going in the mornings! I wish I'd found it a long time ago! Sheryl
  12. Boy Trish I hear ya on evening heat! We took our dog down for a swim at about 5:45 and it was still 105*! I can't remember a July this hot in the 13 years I've lived in Lake County! PHEW! I have to laugh when the Bay Area weatherpeople say we're in for a cooling trend! HA!!!
  13. But then again, it's been a while since I've done any candles...ugh! We've had more 112* days here in Lake County than I can remember in the last 13 years! Hope there isn't a huge mess under my tables! I guess I'm on my way out and checking! Sheryl
