  1. I have aloe gel that is a little thin for what I want to use it for. It's not juice, and it's definitely thicker than juice, but not as thick as after-sun aloe gel you get in the stores. What can I use to thicken it up? I want to be able to play with the consistency to get what I'd like. I have found thickeners for lotion/cream and for liquid soaps/body wash/etc, but am not sure what to use for this. The gel is pretty transluscent and I want to try to keep it from getting cloudy. TIA!!!
  2. Yeah, she doesn't do soap/candles/bath & body. Her stuff is pretty unique.
  3. A friend that I do craft shows with got an email from someone from WiseRep.com. It was a personalized email and referenced what she makes, which is pretty unique. (But not soap/candles/this type of stuff) Anybody heard of this site? I'm leery because you have to pay $185 to sign up, then $30 per month.
  4. http://www.herbalnatures.com She is going to be doing a demo at the Illinois Soap and Candle Convention next month, and is a vendor as well. I know she offers wholesale- I think the info is under the "private label" menu item.
  5. It's been awhile- but I ended up getting this duped. If there's still interest I have a gauging interest post in the co-op section.

  7. What about custom cardboard displays? They can look extremely professional- take a walk in just about any retail store and you'll come across some. Your graphics are fantastic and add to the appeal of your products, so why not let the graphics do the work? I personally like that the cardboard is recyclable, too. I haven't used this company, but I have it bookmarked to try out later. http://www.cardboarddisplays.com/ Or- if you're not into the cardboard thing- I absolutely love these displays. The colored pegboard ones would go great with your graphics too! They have floor and counter displays, and you can arrange the pegboard to have shelves, bins, pegs, etc. And they have lots of clear acrylic displays too. http://www.azardisplays.com/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=123 Please let us know what you come up with- I'd love to see it!
  8. My absolute favorite FO of all time is from them- Green Forest. It is a fantastic green scent!
  9. You can try it, but I don't know if it will stick as well. I ended up ironing on one side, and scenting the other. Worked like a charm!
  10. Great, glad so see you guys are going too! It's going to be so much fun. When are you planning on getting there? I think there's going to be a Friday night get together too.
  11. They're on sale at KB right now.
  12. So who's going to Illinois Soap and Candle Conference (ISOCAN) next month? It's shaping up to be a great conference! I can't wait to see the Iron Soapmaker's Challenge and the demos. www.isocan.org
  13. Done! Thanks much for the link.
  14. Can you give a link to sign it?
  15. Would these work? They're 2" diameter. I haven't used them for floaters or tarts, but other stuff, and I think they'd definitely be big enough. http://www.kangarooblue.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_80&products_id=157
  16. Great idea! Do you dry them or arything?
  17. :spit: I am trying to think of something solid to run through my garbage disposal to clean it. It gets kind of stinky sometimes. I used to make dilute bleach water ice cubes to clean it, but I'm not using bleach anymore if I if I can help it.
  18. I am all about "green", so I might think about EOs. I use all green cleaning products, and most are unscented. But... how would this be different than all the FOs in bath bombs- and for that matter, any B&B stuff that you use in the shower/bath? Or other cleaners? All that FO is eventually going down the drain. Handmade, commercial, etc. Not trying to start a debate here, just curious. Something to think about, though!!!
  19. Yeah, I want to know too! I'm hoping it's something that can go in the disposal too.
  20. Great labels! I like the bottles, and I'm not too thrown off by the caps- although I understand what others are saying. If you can find another cap great, if not- I don't think it's the end of the world. I'm a firm believer in functionality- if there's a reason you chose that cap i.e. you said some older people liked it, then don't sacrifice functionality for a "perfect" look. BUT- if you can get both the look and functionality, that would rock! I'd work on getting something up on your website, if you're giving out the domain name anywhere - even if it's just a coming soon page or such. Right now when you go it it you get a godaddy parked page, and it's listing BBW's website and other commercial bath & body sites at the top...
  21. I have been searching for these as well. I contacted BoxBliss and she said they have a lip balm "boot" that may work- she explained them as a box without the ends, so if it's too long, it will just stick out the ends a bit. But it would still protect the glass, and keep people from opening them at shows, which is what I wanted. She was supposed to send me a sample but I never got them. I should email her again and see if she is going to send them. I wanted paper boxes (recyclable), so clear is out. I was thinking of getting thin cardboard or thick cardstock and making my own rolled paper packaging if I can't find any others, but it seems like a PITA.
  22. POS is a common retail term for Point of Sale. Funny that you think of it as Piece Of Sh*t!
  23. I was lucky- someone was throwing away an entire weight set at my townhouse complex and I snagged all of the weights. I hope I can explain this right- they're the kind for a weight machine, where they're rectangle with a hole in the middle. I can stack them up to add more weight when needed. The poles of my tent fit right through the holes in the weights- they have a flat section at the bottom, so I pull the last section off the poles, put the weights on, then put the section back onto the leg. I then use bungies or the tie downs to secure the edges of the tent down around the weights. I've seen these weight machines at garage sales before too. They work great!!
  24. Thanks for this info. I have read about the benefits of GSE, and then read other info that contradicts it. So it's good to hear that it's effectiveness in a product has been shown in a lab.
