  1. I don't keep mine in the shower, but I definitely prefer a waterproof label anyway. I have gotten lotion from my hands on my paper "test" labels, and they eventually kind of start to peel and look dirty. Also, and this is totally a personal thing- I hate the way the paper labels feel in my hands when I am putting lotion on. Just my 2 cents.
  2. I use 1 part FO to 2 parts DPG as well. I tried 50/50 and it didn't burn right, was making black smoke. The 1/2 is really strong for me anyway!
  3. I have used these before and they work great: http://kangarooblue.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_78&products_id=321
  4. I second BCN's lip balm base. Easy to use, and it holds up in warm weather. I like to keep a tube in my pocket almost all the time, and some will melt especially in the summer. And it's smooth and feels nice!
  5. Good idea for the drains! Duh!
  6. Thanks for the links! I have some reading to do now. At this point, I am just making the sanitizer for my own family use, so it looks like I'll just keep doing that. Now I am a little confused about the misbranding if I even don't label it as a hand sanitizer!
  7. For labeling- hmm, good question. I followed BC's labeling from their website. Now I'm kind of questioning it myself, though. This is the only product that I have anything that could be a "claim", now I'm nervous about it! For EOs- I have used a patchouli, sweet orange and lemon EO blend and it worked well! However, I make this EO blend for my own use, so I haven't tried any other.
  8. I moved this weekend, and found a couple 1lb containers of lye that I never got around to using. I won't be making soap for awhile since I currently don't have a good space for it, so I'm wondering what to do now with this lye! I'd rather not have it sitting around until I move again. It's got to be a few years old- does it go bad? If so, what's a good way to know? I didn't open the containers yet, but shook them a little and they are not solid or anything. I would be happy to give them away if they are still good. Otherwise, can I just wrap up in a couple garbage bags and throw in the regular trash? Sorry for the dumb questions!
  9. Bitter Creek has an awesome hand sanitizer base, has aloe and doesn't dry out your hands either! Takes FO well, although I have some scents that it funks up a little bit, but I think that would happen with any alcohol sanitizer base. http://cart.candlesupply.com/product.php?productid=20004&cat=332&page=1
  10. Yes, I feel the same way! I will cut labels down if I need to, but would prefer not to! I already cut hangtags from cardstock, and ended up tweaking my template to make the least amount of cuts possible... lol I used to cut them to fit the size bags I had, but I ended up getting a different size bag to fit the tweaked hangtag instead. AND... the laser guided cutter has made a world of difference with how long it takes me to cut, too!!! Very worth the purchase.
  11. Thanks! I found the measurements on onlinelabels site and make a custom template in Publisher. Printed a test one on regular paper, and I will see how it will line up with the actual labels when I get them!
  12. Yeah, it looks like this thread was started beginning of 2010. I had emailed sheetlabels, and they claimed to have no idea what I was talking about with perforated lip balm labels. Ho hum. I ordered samples from Onlinelabels.com, so we'll see how I do with them. So dumb question- when you cut the tab on the labels to shorter, did you use scissors or a paper cutter? I have a good paper cutter with a laser guide, and I cut a lot of my own non-label stuff (such as make my own hang tags). So I probably wouldn't mind cutting the tab a little shorter. Also, did you use a template to print yours? I usually use MS Publisher for my labels. I downloaded their MS Word template, but it didn't load into Word for me (tried 2003, 2007 and 2010). I guess I am going to have to spend some time measuring and making a custom template in Publisher.
  13. I had issues with the perforated shrink wrap- I kept peeling more off than just where it was perforated. It seems these wouldn't have that issue. BUT- I am a big dork most of the time, so others probably don't have the same issue. lol I love the idea of that label board thingy! It seems like it would be pretty easy to make one too- I may have to play around with it.
  14. I just stumbled upon these the other day. Haven't ordered them yet, though. I was going to ask if anybody had tried them yet! http://www.onlinelabels.com/OL663.htm
  15. I've done a couple of these, and did pretty well. It was kind of a pain that you had to individually tag every item with price and your individual code, but it ended up not being too bad. Both different places that I did them, the marketplace was over several days, and you didn't have to even be there the whole time. I checked in periodically and made sure that my area was straightened up, restocked, etc. It was kind of like if I had items in a craft mall- I got an itemized list of what sold with a check when it was over. I wouldn't want to do this type of show all the time, since I do like to interact with customers, but I had a good experience overall.
  16. Oh, I love this one too! Gonesh Patchouli is my hands down favorite patch incense too. No idea for duping it though- I stink at that.
  17. Oops, posted this in the wrong section! But thanks for the tip, I will check there!
  18. Anyone have 2 or 3 gallon size pumps they can spare? Let me know how much and shipping to 60564. Thanks! Jenny
  19. I am not doing shows anymore and sold most of my supplies. I got an inquiry the other day from a group wanting specific shapes that I used to make (poodles and dog bones). I'd like to be able to give the woman other places to order them, so if anyone makes them can you please PM me your info? I have to look- I may even still have the metal cookie cutters for these I could give to someone if you don't have this same shape. Thanks!
  20. I am a full time student, and got the Adobe Creative Suite last year. I had to verify that I was a student by having a valid edu email address- that was it. You could try it! I didnt get it directly from Adobe though, I got it from JourneyEd. http://www.journeyed.com/home.asp
  21. KB does still have them... http://kangarooblue.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=553
  22. I have been using Nashville Wrap's biodegradable bags and have been very happy. They are compostable, too.
  23. Close.... but the ones I am looking for are actually taller and more narrow. I tried the ones you found, but they weren't tall enough. But thank you for trying! It is the perfect size container to soak incense sticks in, and I can just put the top back on when I'm done soaking and use the FO mix again later. No mess, no fuss! I guess I'll just have to order $50 worth.
  24. Anybody know where I can get these or something similar? They are the size of a typical 32oz bottle, but with a wide mouth. Burch has a $50 min order, and I don't need that many. I don't care if they are white or natural, I am more concerned about the widemouth top. Thanks! http://www.burchbottle.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=30B0000-1135189694
  25. I have a couple of these and they work great! http://www.storesupply.com/c-840-peg-spinner-rack.aspx I have extra spinners too: http://www.storesupply.com/pc-12704-850-60122-extra-peg-spinner-tier.aspx
