  1. Thanks everyone for your input....I guess I have been lucky so far in that all my scents that I have tried have thrown wonderfully in my wax! I just ordered a few samplers from Lonestar, I'll see how they do. Again, thank you dana
  2. Hi All, I'm testing some CS fall/holiday scents in my 4627 wax. I usually have great ht/ct in my wax, and have never had an issue with any CS oils. I am testing: Christmas Cedar Christmas Tree Both have a very weak hot/cold throw.....? Pumpkin Souffle Smells good but ht not as good as I would like On a side note: Got a tester of Cedarwood Vanilla.....weakest throw hot/cold of any oil I have tested......anyone else try this one? Very Vanilla.....again, smells good but weaker than anticipated. Anyone else have any problems or experience with these FO? I used 6% FO in 4627 with my standard HTP wicks. Thanks for any and all input! dana
  3. another vote for CS Lavender.. :smiley2: dana
  4. I had gotten some samples from them as well, went with something else...however.....if you do a site search there are a few threads on the premier wicks. HTH Dana
  5. Yes, I use RTCP. It smells really good to me, it just isn't strong enough. I guess I will try it again and maybe use a bit more and see what happens! Let me know how yours turns out. Thanks Dana
  6. Hi Rae, No, I haven't called CS, but they are definitely great to deal with and are my primary supplier. Thanks for the suggestion :smiley2: dana
  7. bumping ... hoping someone can share some insight .... thanks :smiley2: dana
  8. I bought it at Candle Science..... Can you explain more about the mineral oil? Thanks to all.... Dana
  9. I guess my beef was this wax was supposed to have *excellent* adhesion properties......no additives needed. I agree with you candybee, no matter what variables I change the wetspots and shrinkage appear. I guess it is time to start testing a new wax.....maybe I'll use the rest of this in tins. Parasoy sounds like a nice alternative! dana
  10. the whole jar IS one big wet spot........I've got major shrinkage and wetspots everywhere.......... Looking for other options cuz I can't live with it.......one or two small spots would be ok....... thanks dana
  11. I love love love the Lavendar from CS. I tried it in CP soap, and it smells yummy (clean and soapy fresh) but the scent is very faint. I realize CS is a candle company and even though this scent is b/b safe perhaps it is not the best for soap? Is it possible to increase the fo? (I used 1oz pp) .... or has anyone soaped this FO? I'm willing to consider another lavendar....I thought of EO but I have no experience with EO's at all....the choices are intriguing yet mind boggling....I'm intimidated and would definitely need a reading/learning resource in how to use them in soap/bb products. Anyhow.... but if it is another lavendar I want it to smell like the one from CS.......nothing else added (such as Lavendar and Vanilla, etc.) Looking forward to your input and thanks in advance! Dana
  12. Looking for some sage advice and input here.... When I started making candles I chose 4627 due to its reputation for great hot/cold throw and adhesion to the container. I have no complaints against the throw! However.....ah, the shrinkage and wetspots are insane. It doesn't matter what temp I pour, if I preheat my glass or not, how I cool them...sooner or later (usually both!) my candles look horrible. Full of shrinkage AND wetspots. Now I've searched regarding wetspots and it says learn to love (or at least accept them) and if it were just an occasional one or two I might be able to do that. But it is horrific, really...my candles burn well and smell great but look horrible. I'm at a loss, as I just am not happy with these. I'm not sure if I should change or alter my wax, container, method, etc. Has *anyone* else had this problem with 4627? I'm open to any and all suggestions! Thanks so much Dana
  13. i am having the same issue trying to use 4627 in a metro status jar...also 3" in diameter.....tried a zillion HTP wicks too (and yes IMO they do better for me in 4627 than ECO) Anyhow I hope you find a solution...I am going to have to double wick my jars I think! dana
  14. No...I would have remembered cottage cheese I haven't made whipped soap yet, and at only 6 months or so I'm still a very beginner soaper...I would say for sure tho (will have to check for specific ingredients) there were no butters or babbasu in the recipe I tried. Can't say I loved the soap (I've yet to make a soap I love, sob!) but it smelled good! dana
  15. Aw.....their Rain Water is one of my fave scents......I did RTCP with it, I can't recall having any issues with it ricing... Now I'll have to do it again to see, shucks, another excuse to make some SOAP! dana
  16. There is a seller on Etsy that makes these....I was drooling over her/his turquoise soaps. Really too pretty to use!
  17. I get mine at the grocery store ... (waiting for the day that I no longer have to line molds!! :rolleyes2) dana
  18. Thanks for posting this.......I have been interested in the finding the results of such a swap! What a great learning experience that must have been for all the participants! dana
  19. thats what wildflowermama sent us.....a template in word! dana
  20. I love it from CS (but to be fair, I have never tried Peaks) dana
  21. I found a template online but it uses Microsoft Publisher....which I am sure is a marvelous program but I don't have it ... Does anyone know of a template that uses a different program? (In the meantime I'll keep searching!) Thanks dana
  22. Not so good, lol. I haven't been able to single wick it to my satisfaction ... so, today I'll pour a tester and double wick...maybe that will burn nicer for me~ Thanks for asking! dana
  23. Well that was the same thing I ran into. Interesting stuff, glass glow.....fun to play with. Get a bag and enjoy! I got mine at CS so I used their recommended CSN wicks, can't advise on the ECO but sure someone will chime in. dana
  24. Has anyone tried this FO? I am always in search of that "soapy clean" smell....of course I want that fo for b&b, and cp soap.....and of course this FO is untested for that.... STILL........anyone tried this in anything? Smell? Anything, lol? Or other recommendations for that soapy clean smell? (for soap, b& Thanks dana
