  1. Paid by check. The bank says it's been too long to do anything and it's now a cival matter. Thus, we contacted the attorney. He recently called and said that he will have a cashier check for me in the morning. I won't take anything but FULL payment and honestly, I'd be a little upset after having gone to the attorney over all of this. In reality I don't even want to deal w/the man anymore anyways. I've heard so many of the come at X time and I'll have your money stories that I can't even count. I don't believe anything he says but I think someone may have let it leak that we contacted an attorney cus all of a sudden he's jumping through hoops or at least making it sound like he is.

your bank should still be able to pull the check sohwing who it was made out too, and when the check cleared...I work in the finacial industry...I've leard a few things. :D Good luck....Bank can't help get the money but they can give you the proof.

  2. I remember one scent I was test burning (Ginger Bergamot) that was so strong that my kids kept blowing it out- it would make their eyes water and they started calling it "Daddy's Deodorant"... I never did test to the bottom cause I had to pull the scent. They'd have run away if I started pouring that one in the house.

Vanilla Nutmeg is mine, it's downstairs and one person asked me where i got Barn scent.

  3. thanks gerrie,

i'm gonna try the metal cups from c&s because they are cheaper, unless there isn't a big difference in plastic and metal...I did a converter between the size from candlewic and candle science cups, and the CS were bigger.

what wick do you recommend? and do you use container or pillar or both for your tealight wax?

  4. okay so i'm going to go with tealights with my excess container wax and tarts with the pillar wax, which leads me to the question

I'm looking at the tealight mold on candlewic the smaller one and wondering if anyone has used it, and if it's worth spending the extra money on? I've not got the steadiest hand and i know i'll slop a lot of wax trying to pour into the cups.

  5. Also, mini tart tins make good molds for Tarts (you're going to want to call them Melts or something to that effect Yankee has a copyright on Tart)

You can find them at Bed, Bath and Beyond or Linens and Things or most places that sell kitchen cookware. They are pretty cheap, I wouldn't buy them online the prices get jacked.

here's a link to a picture of what i'm talking about...

    http://www.peakcandle.com/products/Small-Tart-Mold--1-oz__A1004.aspx

so that's what those are for :D I got to linens and things and such with the DW i've picked them up and scratched my head usually the wife is on the other side of the store so i never ask.

  6. Thanks fredron.

I use nonstick backing pans to put my excess wax in and haven't had issues getting the wax out yet, but then again they aren't small in size like a muffin mold.

Cool, so i'll make the tarts with my pillar/votive wax and it'll require a repour since the wax does...

2 piece mold, i've read a lot about clamshell molds, is that what you are talking about?

sorry so long in responding...reading other threads and overlooked my own. :o

  7. very neat!

is that handle a "generic" thing that can be added to any jar (with the correct neck size)? do you mind if i ask where you got them?

I got them from C&S, they come in a pack of 24, if you go to containers/jars then jar accessories you will find them.

they fit these jars they say on the site

#HDL-B - Candle Handles Fit the following Jars:

Standard Apothecary Jars - 10 oz. 16 oz. or 26 oz.

Frosted Apothecary Jars - 10 oz. 16 oz. or 26 oz.

Large Square 16 oz. Apothecary w/ Wood Lid

Victorian Apothecary Jars - 20 oz. or 24 oz.

    18 oz. Honey Pot Crocks

    18 oz. Pumpkin Jars

it's a tight fit on my bulbs, not a lot of wiggle room

  8. so i've done the searching and i want to make sure i've got my head wrapped around this before i use my extra wax fom pours.

    1) tarts can be anywhere from 0.25 oz to 2 oz in weight.

    2) tarts usually don't have wicks

    3) floaters are wicked using votive wicks and are wicked like a pillar leaving a thin shell

    4) i can use a mini muffin pan to make them

    5) i can use a regular muffin tin and only fill them 1/2 full

    6) would i be better off buying a mold or using dixie cups/muffin tins or cupcake wrappers like i've seen so many of you say you use.

    7) don't need to repour

    8) can use both container and pillar wax

I've got not a lot, but a lot of excess wax, and realized i'd probably have people ask me for tarts :D

Thanks in advance for the help in wrapping my head around this
