  1. I use the 16 oz and 24 oz balmoral jars. The 16 oz jar is approximately 3.5" at its widest point and the 24 oz is about 4.5" at its widest. I use 4627. I am testing the zinc wicks right now but i have eco and rrd wicks coming in the mail. Could someone tell me where to start with double wicking using the zinc wicks? I just need a good starting point so i don't keep wasting wicks. I never thought of triple wicking but i read a post about someone that triple wicks because the jars don't get as hot. Can anyone offer suggestions about which size zinc wicks to start with? TIA.
  2. I just ordered some. Thanks for you input!
  3. Can anyone give me a link to a supplier that sells ECO wick sample packs? TIA
  4. I must have been having a brain fart or something because i didn't smell an odor after i walked outside and back into the house. :embarasse I have also worked through the LX and CDs. I had a big soot problem and some mushrooming. I could have lived with the mushrooming but i won't sell a candle that has soot on the side of the jar so i bought a sample pack of zincs and i am on them now. I am beyond frustrated.
  5. I'm having the same flickering or dancing problem with my bulb jars too. It's driving me nuts, but after reading this thread as long as there isn't any soot or smoke i'm not going to change them. I use 4627 also. Which wicks are you using? I have tried CD, HTP, and LX. Now i am testing with zincs but it seems like i keep smelling a strange odor possibly from the metal core of the wick. Is that even possible or am i just sleep deprived? *faint*
  6. ILikeWaxMelts, I use 4627. eugenia, thank you. I have test burned two 4 oz candles so far. The Love Spell burned for 28.25 hours and the Rose Bouquet burned for 33 hours. So, i'm in range. That's good to know. Thanks for your help.
  7. What do you think the burn time would be for a 4 oz candle?
  8. That is pretty neat. I have never seen anything like that before today. Good work!
  9. I buy my bulb jars from Wellington, but it is a 4.5 oz jar. They sell them in a case of 36. They are such nice jars.
  10. I think this little bit of mushrooming is acceptable, but i decided to try out the HTP wick to see how that works. Hopefully it doesn't mushroom. Thank you for your suggestion.
  11. I started with 1 oz pp and i didn't feel it wsa strong enough so i asked a couple of my customer's opinions and they didn't think it was strong enough either. I went up to 1.5 oz pp and i am happy with the hot and cold throw now. I just wicked up and the flame is much better. Thank you for all of your suggestions. I appreciate it.
  12. I thought about how i wrote it after i logged off. No, i used 1.5 oz of FO pp of wax. I could see how that would freak people out. That may be why you are the only one to reply. The jar that my uv inhibitor is in says to use 1/2 tsp pp of wax. Again, another typo. I only use 1/2 tsp. My keyboard buttons stick sometimes, but i usually catch it. I guess that's what i get for being in a hurry while posting.
  13. I used: 4627 1.5 oz Rose Bouquet FO 12 tsp. uv inhibitor LX-16 4.5 oz bulb jar The flame started burning nicely, but after a few hours of burning the candle the flame became small. Is the wick too small or too big for that jar? Any suggestions would help. TIA
  14. I am testing my container candles now and i am having a tiny bit of mushrooming. How much mushrooming is acceptable? I am using 4627, LX-16 wick, 4.5 oz bulb jar with a diameter of 2.5" at its widest point, and i used 1/2 tsp of uv inhibitor pp.
  15. Nevermind. I did a search and found the answer to that question.
  16. Printed ribbon is an interesting idea. What type of ribbon did you use and how did you print it? Sorry for all the questions, but i need to figure out my labeling situation. It is driving me crazy. Perhaps i could do a logo label on the lid and a printed ribbon or hang tag around the neck. You folks have been very helpful. Thank you very much.
  17. I thought about that, but a lot of people misplace their lids or never put them back on and if their friends come over and like the candle i want them to be able to look at the jar and get the company and contact info right away. You are right about not taking the focus away from the jars. They are such pretty jars. Thank you for the suggestion, i will keep that in mind.
  18. Do you put the lid on the jars after you pour the wax or leave it off until it is completely cool? The thought had not crossed my mind until today when i evaluated some jar candles i made last night. TIA.
  19. In your opinion, where can i get the best vanilla fo? I know it varies from person to person, but any suggestions would be helpful so i don't waste a lot of money on samples from a lot of different companies. TIA
