  1. Anyone know what's going on with some of Peak's fragrances? Ocean, Lilac, Coconut Lime Verbena have been out of stock for quite some time and now I see Amish Harvest is too!! Never really had this problem until this year ... hoping they are selling out and not discontinuing? Thank you,
  2. If someone wanted an Apple Jolly Rancher Candy Scent....would you go with Nature's Garden Green Apple Explosion or Just Scent's Jolly Rancher Green Apple?? Thanks much!
  3. Thank you both and good to know on the weight. Ill be testing when i get all supplies in.
  4. I'm using the room/body spray base from the Candlemaker's Store. It says to use anywhere from 3-10% FO when making a room spray. First question is the calculation the same when using fluid ounces as dry weight oz? I'll be making these in 4 oz PET bullet bottles so if I went with 6% (what I'm leaning toward) it would be 4 x .06 or .24oz FO?? If that's correct..does 6 percent sound about right? Ten seems so high unless the FO is really light which mine aren't. Thanks for any insight.
  5. Thanks OldGlory....Love the name Citrus Capri...I think there was a BBW Capri Seaside Citrus back in the day. Maybe "Capri Lemoncello" ...what do you think?
  6. Thanks for the suggestions......Sweet Tobacco def sells better than Volcano.....unless you are a fan of that candle brand people don't have a clue what it is.....I like something Tropical sounding.....maybe like Tropical Breeze.....makes three of us not good at names
  7. I need help with new names for Aztec's Tobacco and Volcano....The Tobacco sells better than the Volcano but both aren't great sellers for me and I love both scents and would like to keep in my line. Currently, I call Tobacco, Sweet Tobacco...I was thinking of renaming it to Grandpa's Pipe. Volcano, I use the Volcano Blue Capri Type but I'm not sure everyone know what it even is....So before I take a shot in the dark, any suggestions from members selling these with success. Thanks much!!
  8. Wow, she should have known better as someone said she was an attorney......or maybe she's not one anymore which would make more sense.
  9. I guess they are associated with the Wonder and Company.....that site looks like it has lots of Disney stuff.....but you're right GalaxyGirl odd situation.
  10. Not sure about the copyright, but would love to know where they found those jars.....color without frost....what a concept for soy
  11. Yes, very impressive.....etsy is down for now too. Must have gotten swamped!! Good for them!
  12. Have you seen these new soy candles being sold by Disney....made in SC. Looks like the etsy shop just opened in April 2015 and now the website is not accessible because of the overwhelming demand for the candles. I do love the colored jars and labeling........Anyone know if the candlemaker is in our group? http://www.wonderandcompany.com/now-your-house-can-smell-like-disneyland/
  13. Thank you.....I did find the tutorial on making them on youtube and picked up the candlesticks and the E6000......
  14. I have a customer that wants me to make candles in wine glasses which I do not want to do because most are too thin and not heat safe. I did find a nice thick pair of wine glasses but am still hesitant. So my question is about the Redneck Wine Glasses. They are Ball Jars, so can I assume they are the same Ball Jars used for candlemaking? If anyone is using them are you buying them in bulk? Thank you,
  15. Candlesncats, that would be great. Have you ever wicked it? I do use some of Millcreeks fragrances so getting a version from there would be good. I'll message you with my address......thx Brenda
  16. Thanks Gclarke, so that would be the Sage and Lemongrass at Peak's?
  17. Any good dup of Sage and Citrus from these suppliers that throw well in soy? I have read on the boards that BCN's is good but I'm trying not to add another supplier. Thx Peaks NG Millcreek Backwoods Fragrance Buddy
  18. Drive us crazy is right......seems I test and test before I find a scent I really like and throws good. It's really pretty depressing when I look at all the half used 1 oz samples I have in my candle shop. The good news is Tobacco is throwing better with an ECO6 which is the scent I really want to work. I do use HTP's for some tins and the cottons for the Libbey 3" tumbler but mostly ECO's and a CD here or there for the mason and jellies.
  19. Wow, that's good then it has to be the difference in the wax, wicks or cure or a combo of all or some.... Thanks for providing feedback....it's helpful!
  20. It seems so, what percentage of FO do you use in 464? I know it can hold alot more than C3....which is only 6%. With the cost of FO's I'm ok with that as long as I can get a good throw.
  21. No I don't cure two weeks, a few days to a week a most. If a scent doesn't throw good in that amount of time, I don't bother. My business doesn't allow me that kind of cure time.....I get good results with most CS fragrances using this timeframe. I'm going to keep testing and wick up. I'm testing in JJ's using C3, started with an ECO4 and moving up to a 6.
  22. Must be a difference in our soy waxes because so far I'm not at all impressed. I really wanted that Tobacco to work too. Finding a good tobacco has been a challenge. I can try increasing the percentage but I don't want seepage and truthfully most FO's I use throw good at the same %. Candybee Cozy Cabin has alot of Cedar....I can't even describe Barn Wood...maybe some moss and Kentucky Bourbon is more sweet than Bourbon.
  23. So I ordered from Aztec for the first time and finding the scents to be just so-so. Anyone use their FO's in straight up soy and have good results? The Tobacco is throwing pretty good but also testing these all of which are pretty light. Barn Wood Cozy Cabin Coconut Kentucky Bourbon Thanks
  24. Nursenancy....do you use in candles? I don't sell much Patchouli either, maybe I should mix the two and call it Pink Patchouli
