go to www.uline.com they have tiny boxes there that are under .25 Surprisingly, we use them quite often, cusomters always seem to forget to order something and need just one of something or have a customer who needs something fast.

how is it taken? Is it just a Fic Name? Inc? you'd be surprised what you can get away with. There are 2 other companies with the same name in my state. Plus our inc name has one small change in it and its ok.

That's why it is only good to get samples to try them out first. Each person has there own unique smelling factor, kind of like a fingerprint. What smells good or bad to you may have the opposite effect to others. You may smell something strong, the other says they cant smell it. It is a proven fact. Every company has good and bad smells and looking for a particular hint of something, that is why there are 200 styles of Vanilla and so on. And definately test them in wax, i have a horrible smelling Raspberry, but ince its in wax, its fabulous.

I'm interested in more of this? Who else does this and how does it work( I understand the whole scanning concept)? Can i just put in any old barcode? I have a potential chain looking at my items and they said i would have to have the barcoding on there.

I think you need some heighth on the table. People will walk buy your booth looking straight on, you need something there to catch their eye and bring them in.

No one runs a business like you do(the owner) When a compnay grows a lot of problems come to exist. Un or undertrained employees, tired employees, employees don't give a crap, misinformation, mislabeled shelves, busy rush confusion. All those things happen in business. It is a fact of life. As long as they make it good, it should be ok. I would say the out of the companies I order from 10% have gotton every order right, and out of a 100 companies, thats not the best, but things happen. Checks and rechecks don't always work either.

Looking for some nut molds particularly peanuts and cashews but could't find any. Anyone know who has some? TIA
-
That's Awesome! I never get tired of going into my accounts to spy on them. some don't know me, and I like to check out their displays and see how many they sold. You'll have to get an ad and keep it in a scrapbook, and look back on it even 1 year from now, you'll think it was nothing then.

We use appropriate size ladels 1oz-8 oz depending on the batch we are making. Do it all by eye, cause we have done so many now. Then just use that to stir and also to pour out also. If i try pouring out of a full pot, I end up spilling it.

Free Shipping is definately one they love. Are you capable of doing that? make sure they have to buy so much of it, like $200 or so, what ever you think you can afford
Just had a promo come into me 25% off shipping, thought that was an odd one, especiaally since their shipping prices are pretty low.
Also seen buy 12 of an item get 1 free
10% off pricing
Free merchandise(at retail value) to offset the shipping.
We have a special, buy 24 get 1 free (on the $10 ones) at show or new customers.
Starting in June, at the shows we have free shipping over $300

i'm pretty sure lebermuth has it.

We bought ours on Ebay, and saved about $100 that way.

Yes, just putting the finishing touches on...so to say. Don't want to be too vague, yet too detailed either.

You can also try microwaving your molds. Throw it in the microwave for 2-5 min, depending on the size of it, until it feels warm. Then pour at around 190. Works for me everytime, I have problems with a mold like that.

Rambling on about wholesaling on another thread, but since I've been doing the wholesale thing and have over 600 accounts and adding new ones everyday. i'd be willing to write up a little piece about wholesaling and dos and donts and what to expect. Would ya'll be interested if I post this? just don't want to spend the time and no one have interest.
-
My biggest thing I learned from it- make a DETAILED wholesale contract, with what they can and cannot do.
This is one misconception of candlemakers. If you go to a store and say i want you to buy this, but you cant do this or that, or even this or else.
They will send you out the door packing. There are thousands of candlemakers that store owners come across all the time. You should feel special that they chose your product, so they screwed it up, not your problem, just try to move on and pick up another account.
This is my contract, which basically isn't a contract, just my terms and what my rules are, that's all:
Terms & Conditions
Minimum first order amount is $250 Reorders $100
We accept the following credit cards: VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER.
Shipping: Our preferred method is Fedex or USPS to Canada.
Returns & Damages: All returns must be approved by and may be subject to a restocking fee. All damages/shortages must be reported within 5 business days.
This is standard of what other wholesalers do. We know wholesale to 600 accounts across the country and a few international.
And from an earlier quote, still learning how to do that.
But if the candlemaker has Insurance then their information HAS to be on the product in order for them to be protected properlyLook at any candle you pickup at Wal-mart, know where does it say who made it, its called proctecting your sources for your own gain.
-
Very nice, what scent did you use? Are they a fizzy of some sort or a soap?
-
One more thing, it is perfectly legal to remove contact information, you cannot remove anything with the point of origin, i.e. made in china, etc. I a m a storeowner and a wholeslae candlemaker, I remove my contact info everytime.
-
basically, once they have it, it is theres and they can do with it what they want. i have had some poeple do that to me as well. I leave off any contact information so the average consumer cannot find me or another store. Stores are VERY protective about their merchandise and their sources, so keep that in mind. All it takes is one person to ruin it, as in this case. This still does not release you from liability in making a defective product, but if she removed and of the basic burning tips and someone stupid says they didn't know because it didn't say so on the label, its the store owners problem. Don;t forget if something happens to product, the seller and the manufacturer are involved, it doesn't release oyou or gain you any liability.

I have Keystone Muscadine which is a grape smell and did it in an olive green and named it tuscan vineyard. Everyone raves at the color.
