  1. How much EO's do you use ppo for your soap. I know what the general amt is for FO, but not sure about EO since I assume it would be much stronger Thanks,

  6. Flcandles, Yes that is pretty much what there is to Melt & Pour soap. Some people add additives (herbs, extra butter, etc) but that is the basic of it all. I believe the drying of the soap might mean curing, but with Melt & Pour you don't need to cure the soap as the lye has already been fully saponified...
  7. You guys are Hilarious Maybe I should just stick with LARD, huh??
  8. Is there any other way to list this as an ingredient other than LARD? Probably not, but just wondering. I really like it in CP soap, but the label appeal is not all that good :undecided Thanks,
  9. Sorry about that. I am shrink wrapping CP soap...
  10. I think I am going to package up my soap for Xmas in Shrink Wrap, but have never used this. What other items do I need besides the shrink wrap bags and a heat gun? Or that it? Also, I am too sure EXACTLY how to do shrink wrap. From what I have read, I believe I just put the soap in the bag and tape the end down then just heat it real quick with the heat gun... Is this correct or am I missing something:confused: Thanks,
  11. How many recipes do you generally use in your line of soap. Do you just use a basic recipe and then just change the additives and FO/EO's or do you actually use several different OIL recipes? Thanks,
  12. Sandra, I made some a couple weeks ago. I added 1 T per lb added at trace and it came out WONDERFUL. I added Pumpkin Crunch Cake FO....LOVE IT:D
  13. Anyone know where I can get Glassine bags except Online? I searched Hobby Lobby and they said they don't carry them... Any Advice Thanks!
  14. Yep, for two days actually. I am going to try the SPOON method tonight...Wish me luck
  15. OK, I had my husband silicone a wook log mold for me. I told him he needed to use the Bathroom/Kitchen kind, but being Mr. KNOW IT ALL, he used some other kid of Silicone and my entire loaf is STUCK in the mold. Anyone ever have any success with getting soap out of WOODEN molds? I have tried freezing, banging, etc with NO luck. I wish he would just LISTEN to me once in a while and stop thinking he KNOW everything. Now, I am probably going to have to throw out my mold, unless someone can give me advice as to how to remove the soap without ruining the mold.... Thanks,
  16. Hello, I need some advice on what colorants work well with CP soap... OR what do you prefer? Ultramarines or Oxides? Thanks!
  17. Well Crap, I THOUGHT that was the right kind... Good think I only made the batches for myself and family...:undecided They did come out good though...LOL I was planning on buying my next purchase of body butter online though as that one is expensive!! Man, Do I feel like an IDIOT now:tiptoe:
  18. Hello Gran, I am kind of new to Soaping as well. I would definetly recommend getting all the OILS you can from Walmart to save on Shipping. You can get the following from Walmart and then order whatever else you need online Coconut Oil Olive Oil Peanut Oil (I think there are only a couple that use this though due to so many nut allergies out there) Corn Oil Canola Oil Castor Oil (Would be cheaper to get online though) Cocoa Butter (Also would be cheaper to get online) LOWES Hardware (You can get your lye and a Mytre box to cut your soap with - Both VERY good prices) As for Molds, I started out using a shoe box for my slab molds. I did purchase two Log molds on ebay that works GREAT. Below is where I got them from... http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZslinky077 You can also use the drawer organizers from walmart for slab molds too...Those work pretty good! HTH,
  19. The Cocoa butter that I use from Walmart is Palmers Cocoa Butter. It is in the isle with African America hair/lotion products! Here is a pic of what it looks like... HTH
  20. Yes, I will be purchasing some of that online also :undecided
