Just letting it cool on its own. After topping it off and cooling some, then Iwill put it in the freezer to get an easier release. I pour in our basement which is around 77. I do have ceiling fans in my pouring room. Would that make a difference?
I did not hear back from CS today. I am hoping they are testing the pellets, so I want to give them until tomorrow and then I will call them.

It is 1343a. I was pouring at 185, no additives with the slabs. Now with 185, there is no mottling. CS told me to pour it at 200 to make it do its mottling. I thought that was too high, but I tried it. It came out very smooth as if I had added Vybar, which I did not. I used the wax tonight to do the basic rustic candle and they did really good. Maybe I will hear back from CS tomorrow. They were going to get the spec from IGI to make sure
nothing changed when they went to pellets.
I appreciate all the feedback. You all are great!

I got two 60 pound bags of pellets from Candle Science. They said IGI is
now replacing 2 of their waxes in pellets. I thought it was great at first. It melts faster, but no mottling.

Thanks, Stella for the label supplier. I am also looking for the barrel jar label. That's a great site. Thanks a lot!

Has anyone gotten the IGI 1343 in the pellet form yet? If so, are you having any problems? I have used over a half case and no mottling at all. Lots of pin holes and never got that before. Just wondering if anybody else has tried the pellets.

Grama...how are you doing? I started the Palms after you said how much fun you had with them. I love them. I have all but one of them and CS has 2 containers on the way in with the other one. Which one do you like the best? I think I like the Sunburst...or is it Starburst..the best.

I have used IGI-6006 for 5 years now and love it. It is a blend and I can use
1.5 ozs per pound on scents. It is a very creamy wax. I would highly recommend it.

I make pillars with 2 of the Palm Waxes from CS and I do not make poke holes. CS said it was not necessary and I don't have to do a second pour. It's one of the easiest waxes to work with. I love them. Have fun!

A must have. I have 4 of them and all with spigots. The spigot makes it so
easy to pour directly into your pour pot. I couldn't do without mine. They are also very easy to make.

I have used it for 5 years and love it.

If you bought if from www.shrinkwrapstore.com Jay will answer your questions and help you. I just got mine in last week and had several questions. He was
a great help.

I have 4 and wouldn't do without them. I chunked my 100lb wax melter for these. You won't be sorry. They are very easy to use and the wax heats up
pretty fast.

Thanks, everybody, for all the suggestions. I appreciate it.

This is my first time trying votive pins. I am getting ready to take the candle out. My question is do you use a wick tab and then use a heat gun?
Thanks!

Thanks, Donita,
I use 1.5 oz per pound. I have never used the sternic. I am new to pillars and I was just going by the instructions. I will buy some sternic and see if
that helps. Do you think the amount of FO I am using is too much for the rustic candles?
-
I just tried the rustic pillars today and mine turned out somewhat greasy on the outside. I did not use any mold spray. Anybody have any suggestions?

I love mine with the spigots. I think it would be more of a pain to have to pour it out because I just open the spigots & put it right into my bottles. It is super easy to clean. I never use water. I just ripe it out with a paper toilet & make sure if there is any wax left in the spigot, I heat it up & shovel the paper towel as far into the spigot as it will go both ways. Super easy. My presto pots have never seen water. LOVE,LOVE them. I just wish I had more time to use them.
So, you must add your scent and color to the pot? I was going to continue to pour from a pitcher and mix there. I have always done containers and now I am going to try pillars, chunk candles and votives. I am open for any helpful hints. Got my order from Candle Science today and my order from Peaks will be here Monday. Can't wait to try something new.

Everybody has been so helpful. Thanks for the replies. I am wondering now
about the spigot. We bought 2 sets last night and all the hardware cost about $30. I am used to a large melting pot and it has a heating element in the pour area to melt the wax. Are you all having trouble with the wax not melting in the spigot? If so, what are you doing?
-
Thanks, Lauchie,
The instructions say under tools needed a 19/32" Drill bit. My husband was
going to try the 3/8", but I wanted what the instructions said. I have a 100 lb melter that takes for ever to heat up 20 lbs. That's why I wanted to try the Presto Kettle. We bought 2 tonight.
I appreciate your reply.

We have been to Lowe's, Home Depot and Ace Hardware and they all told us there is not a 19/32" drill bit made. Can anyone tell us where they got theirs? Thanks!

Welcome from another Georgian.
Thanks! What part of Georgia? Do you know where to buy IGI wax in
Georgia?

Love the palm - have used the starburst and feather for pillars and the glass glow and frost for containers. They had such a run on the glass flow until they are out of it and apparently having trouble getting more. It is beautiful wax and has great scent throw. Candlescience is a great company to buy from. They have great cs and their shipping very reasonable and the fo are good. Have just recently started using their fo but have liked all of them and since they are close that is a very big plus. That is where I buy my wax from also. I use IGI 4786 and 4625.
Looks like you are close to Atlanta?
Yes, we are north-east of Atlanta. Do you use zinc wics with the IGI wax you use? I am all of a sudden getting mushrooms. I thought I would try the soy wax and see what happens.

Hello, Grama,
We just moved from Smyrna to Mableton. I have used IGI-6006 for at least 5 years. I am just now having trouble with the zinc wicks. My customers have suggested to me that I try all soy wax. It is so confusing. All of my candle suppliers are in Texas. I was going to order soy from someone in TN 2 days ago, but they never called me back. Do you like the palm?
IGI 1343 in pellets
in General Candle Making Discussions
Posted
Talked with Diane at CS today and the answer to 1343 is that it is NOT a mottled wax. It sometimes mottles, but no guarantee it will every time. CS is testing the new pellets now and will get back to me if they have any other
results. Diane said IGI 1274 is a mottle wax and transparent. With the 1343 pellets my chunks candles are coming out opaque now instead of transparent. Therefore, I am now going to try 1274 to do my chunks. I will let you know when CS is finished testing the 1343 pellets.
Thanks to all of you.
