Rae, you got some great waves. The waves just stay where ever you put them. My problem was remembering where I put them. LOL Wasn't it fun. Can't wait until the next class.
Thanks! THis was my third try and I really tried hard to get the waves deep.
I only problem was I was not even thinking of where I put them. That is obvious by the look. lol. I can't wait until the next class either.

Thanks, Scented!
Then I would go between the digging on the next row, right? I am going to
keep trying until I have it down.

I like the wick pins the best. I feel the candle is more centered...or at least for me. We don't use the putty any more. It was too messy. We put metal tape on bottom and we have no leaks.
I agree it's just a personal preference.

I have never posted a picture, so here it goes. I will try. My candle turned out pretty bad. However, I have never done a layered candle and have only
been doing pillars for about 5 months. I will keep trying. If the picture does come through I hope Scented can give me some advice...like...how do you
control where the waves are when it is covered up with wax? I really enjoyed the class and hope some more newbies will jump in on the next one.
Thanks again, Scented. You are great! :tiptoe:

Put mine in the freezer for about 10 minutes because I wanted to see how
they would look. All I can say is that I had a ball doing this class and can't wait for the next one. These candles will have to be trashed. I think I was
spooning it too early. I will probably try another one tomorrow. I can't wait to see all the pretty candles.

Scented, your candle is beautiful! Thank you so much for taking the time to
do this. I loved it and will try it again and again until I get it right. You are
a very talented lady.

Just poured 5th layer. Wondering how ugly these of mine will be.
Only time will tell.

Through pushing on second pour.
-
I did my second pour. Am doing a straight one and a tilted one. Don't know
that it is looking right, but I am hanging in there.

Is there anybody out there doing the class and can see the instructions?

What is your lot #? is it the same as islandgirls ?
Yes, the 2 new cases are the same lot number. I have not tried the new cases yet. I will try them this weekend. I had bought 10# of C3 to test and it is probably the same lot number because it came from the same vendor and only a week later.
-
Who is the supplier? I just got 2 cases if C-3 in and I am having nothing but
problems with it. Just wondering if we got ours from the same place. It sure
would help to know who the supplier is>

Welcome to the board! If you will do a search (above on blue bar) on Palm you should come across a very good thread by Stella that will help you alot with Palm. She explains a lot. Also, if you go to the vegetable wax forum you will see a lot of threads on Palm. Good luck.

Rae,
I purchased my Premier 700's through The Natural Artisan. They sold them in packs of 25 for $1.90.
HTH
dawn
Dawn,
thanks so much. Are they working good for you with the GB464?

I am also testing the GB 464. I tried the 700 Series from Wick It. When I called to place an order Jessica said their minimum was 1000 per size. Does anyone where to buy this wick by the 100?

I have been making ceramic containers for about 30 years. I always use a lot of votives and fill them with wax. The customer gets more wax. I tell the
customer when candle is gone to put the container in the freezer and the
left over wax will come right out. Then they can buy a votive candle and keep using the container. HTH!

Stella....thanks so much for all the good input. I poured another C-3 this afternoon and increased the FO to 1.5 ozs and covered the top with workshop paper towels to cool. The top is soooooo smooth. Can't wait to burn it. I also went back to ECO wick to try that. I am also testing GB464 to see which one I like better. So far the problems I have had with C-3 are so much less than the problems with the 464.
I remember your thread on Palm wax and I learned alot from that. I printed it off and put it in my book.
You are always so helpful to everyone and, I for one, really appreciate you.
Thanks again!

Big problems with IGI 6006. I have used it for over 5 years and a lot of us
got some bad stuff. If you can find old lots of it you are okay. I am trying to find a new container wax, so I am testing C-3 and GB 464. Good luck on your search.

Candle Science carries an ECO-12.

Sorry, Stella, I am testing with a 3" whisper jar, 10 and 16 ozs. I added 1oz pp of Brandid Pear (CS), and no color, at 170 (only because my wax got hot so quick compared to my blends). I let it cool down to 125 as suggested by
CS. I used a LX-26 wick. This candle has been through three 4hour burns. I only get a 85% melt pool.
BAck on 7/31/07 I used C-3 with 1oz pumpkin pie (CS0 and added 3 crops of
burgandy. I melted to 160 and poured at 150. I noticed it on my shelf the other day with what I thought was frosting, white stuff around the inside of my jar. Used the same jar, 10oz 3" wide whisper jar. I also tested at the same time with the FO of Home Sweet home. Same as the previous candle.
Used the LX-16 and then changed to LX22 with never getting a full melt pool.
That is why I tried the LX-26 this time. I just checked the candles and still
no full melt pools. I do clean and heat my jars before pouring!
I changed to soy after getting the 1343 in pellets and it not working and then I was one of the lucky one who got some of the bad IGI-6006. Am trying to find a dependable wax like 6006 was to me for over 5 years.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I am also testing C-3 and it's my first with soy. I have been pouring at 125
because that is what CS recommends. Is that why my candles aren't smoothe and not a good HT? I tried adding CO yesterday so I will see if that
helps. How long do you all normally cure C-3?
Thanks!
