  1. I got this email yesterday through my contact form on my website: Hi, I am have just started a special event planning/ boutique business. And one major component I am missing from my business is candles. What is a wedding without candle light? So, I am wondering if I would be able to sample one of your products? As, I am looking for a very high quality product. If this at all possible my mailing address is as follows: Raechel Austin 369 Montgomery Ave. Apt. 2F Providence, RI 02905 So, I googled the address and found it was a PO box. Then I googled her name and found a whole thread on her on another message board. This was from about a year ago where she had asked many people the same thing, and many sent her samples. I just googled again today and that board did not come up again Anyway, just wanted to pass it on in case anyone else gets an email from her and warn you not to waste time and money sending her anything...unless you want to Kathy
  2. Are these the type of holders that some companies use to make larger tealights and pour directly into the glass without the plastic holder ? There was a post a while back from someone looking for those, but I dont remember if there was a reply about where to get them. Kathy
  3. This is a BBW dupe.....do you know if it smells just like it ? Anyone tried it in 464 or 415? I just bought their lotion and love the scent. Thanks Kathy
  4. I have a few left of the levine ones if that is what you are looking for. http://www.levinegifts.com/heplelbudabl.html
  5. I am trying to locate boxes that snuggly hold the staight-sided votive holder, probably 2x2x3, either in the clear kind or white. Anyone come across these? I have found smaller ones for votives alone or 3x3x3 which would be too wide. How do you package these size of glasses ? Thanks Kathy
  6. Candle Science has Himalayan Bamboo scent. I still have a sample that I bought when they had their 99c sale and have yet to try it, but it smells nice OOB. Kathy
  7. I just got a sample pack of these. I will be testing 415 and 464, have read these are good in soy ?!?!? To get an idea how the sizes on these run, does anyone know how they relate in size to say CD's or even htp's. As in say the C-70 is the same as a CD ?? etc. Thanks Kathy
  8. I dont use UPS very often, as their prices are very high and they go by box size first and not just the weight (found that out the hard way, lol) and most of the things I sell right now can fit into a flat rate box. They also charge exorbitant prices for their wrapping supplies !!!! However, recently I packed something in a big USPS priority box and wrapped in brown paper and took to UPS to mail. They do not allow boxes to be wrapped in paper so she took it off. I said, but it is in a USPS priority box and she said no problem, you can use any box as long as you dont wrap it in paper ! So, sudsnwicks, you should be able to use any box to go with UPS, but the smaller the better to save on cost. Kathy
  9. [quote=mizbizzyb;614480 BT - I won't accept a ppal payment from an unconfirmed addy unless it is my mom. lol. . I probably didnt explain that properly. I do have a confirmed address. I have bought and sold many things through ebay always using paypal and it just threw me cos I had never seen this before, that the buyer insists you add in all your credit cards details as well. I just didnt want to have to fill in all my cc details when there was money in the paypal account. No biggie, got my stuff eventually, and wont buy again as they rip off on the shipping charges
  10. I also bought something off ebay a week or so ago where they took paypal, yet when I went to pay it said the seller also required a credit card number etc for address verification. !! This sounded fishy to me....why would they need that, paypal has my address verification. Thats the whole point of paypal, to not have to give out cc info. This was a power seller, though did not reply to my email when I questioned this. Anyway, I just went to the send money section on paypal and filled in their email addy and amount and sent it that way.
  11. I have this from ICS, only one I have tried so cant compare, but I have used it in tarts and like it.
  12. Which wick did you decide on for these votives? I just got this wax and and bunch of new wicks and am ready to test
  13. I have a couple of slabs of M&P ultra clear that I bought about a year ago from NG and never used. They are still in the original wrapping but the edges have changed color. Would this still be good to use....does it go "off"......? Kathy
  14. That's for sure. I have also spent too much on "name brand" candles to see why they were so much better than mine.....they are also sitting around half-melted with a "crap, do not use anymore" sticker on them, LOL.
  15. OMG ! That message could have been written by me.....I am thinking exactly the same thing. I am sure almost everyone has gone through this stage, which is why I am not giving up. Also, why I have 2 more different waxes arriving today I used to get really mad when yet another candle dissapointed me, still do, (and so sick of every surface in the house littered with half-melted candles) but now since reading something someone else wrote I think on the lines of an expensive hobby, or spending less than someone who smokes etc. :rolleyes2 , but a hobby that will have a productive outcome eventually. This is my year....this is my year.....this is my year....!! Kathy
  16. Thanks meredean. I have been trying to find out who took over the BG wax. Was hoping it was Peak or someone out West who had it , :smiley2:
  17. I used to buy this from Bluegrass but they no longer sell it. I cant seem to find many places that sell the 435. I have read on here that the KY125 is close, but does anyone know who else has it, maybe under another name ?? Thanks Kathy
  18. Does anyone use this wax to make votives, especially natural unscented ? Which wicks do you find work best, if you dont mind passing it on. I have tried several different types and sizes and havent found one I am happy with. Thanks Kathy
  19. Bluegrass candle supply has vineyard. Its pretty strong.
  20. Thanks so much for your replys...I will check them out. Candlelady, your mixing idea sounds good. I have Vanilla Silk and will get some Jasmine when I reorder from NG in a week or so. I have not been brave enough to try mixing anything yet, but will have to get my toes wet Thanks Kathy
  21. I bought some of this on Ebay a year or so back and it was awesome, but have not been able to find it since. Does anyone know if anyone sells it, maybe under a different name ? This would be a BBW dupe.....I just been to their sale and found the jasmine vanilla hair conditioner, and it reminded me . Kathy
  22. This lady sells tealight cups on ebay. Not sure how many colors she may have or can get. She is a pleasure to deal with and has reasonable shipping. Here is a link to some red ones: http://cgi.ebay.com/Faceted-Dancing-Tealight-Molds-Red-50-pcs_W0QQitemZ230171885951QQihZ013QQcategoryZ41207QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem
  23. After reading your post, I just tested my Levine 20-watt tarburner and the temperature of the melted tart (1 oz) is around 155-160 degrees.
  24. No problem :smiley2: I didnt realize it would get so much response and diversity lol I just posted on a whim as I found the candle online as I had seen Colin Cowie and Oprah talking about these candles. As always, this board is very informative and very interesting to read everyone's opinion. Happy Holidays everyone. Kathy
