  1. Thank you for the reply, Kimberly! I have tested so many of these that I figured the smaller flame must be kinda normal. Most of the time I get a good throw, which people want. Thanks again !!
  2. I have been trying on and off to wick a 16 oz apothecary jar for a while (3-3/4 wide). I use soy and have tried many types of wick and sizes but end up with torches or flames that look like they will fizzle out even though there is a big pool. I have read on here that others have trouble with this jar as well...some have had success with single wick but seems most use double wick. But, so many people sell these that obviously a lot of people are having success. So my question is for those of you who do sell these...... do you happen to have a photograph of how your successful candle should look when it is about halfway down. I would love to see how your flames/pool look. Did that make sense.....? Just wonder if I am worrying over nothing. I have bought a few other people's candles, and I do find that they have big melt pools and maybe I am just worrying to much, as we all have done. Type of wax wicks doesnt matter, just would like to see how it looks. Thanks Kathy
  3. I just came across this on YouTube. Anyone seen these jars before ? Wonder how the seams work...no leaks ?!?!?
  4. I have a temperature question for those of you who blend soy and paraffin for container candles. How do you decide the pouring temperature when you are blending? Say you did the 70/30 ratio, since normally soy is poured cooler and paraffin higher, would you perhaps pour at the normal soy temp or adjust it upward. Also, when melting do you just melt them in the same pot or add together when melted. I know I will obviously be testing if I combine, but the temp question had me curious. Thanks Kathy
  5. I just picked up these Vibe jars and was doing a search for any wicking info on here. http://www.containerandpackaging.com/item.asp?item=G510 I just got the little ones for now...didnt realize just how little they would be lol, but they will come in useful for something. They are very light, but the lids are a lot heavier. I also got a sample of the Whisper one as well. Since this is an older thread, I wondered if anyone had luck wicking any of the different sizes in these jars with 464. The jars are very cute. Kathy
  6. I have had that happen a few times, usually just back out and start over and most of the time it works. Very annoying though!!! They did send out an email about maintenance, but that is supposed to be tonight.
  7. Has anyone managed to successfully single wick this? I have seen photos somewhere that they are single wicked. Its been a while since I tested and gave up on them, but have the jars and would like to try again. I did try CDs and htp single and double, but seem to remember either getting what seemed to be a very big melt pool, or wicks that looks like they would fizzle out. Kathy
  8. You know, if the damn spammers can find me through the contact page on my website and send 9 emails at a time....why cant the customers find me lol !!! Does anyone else have this spam problem with DIYestores? Kathy
  9. What the......!!! I did that, clicked save, and get an error message saying that Bravenet is not compatible with the WYSIWYG editor and please hit save to delete it. I did that! And it cleaned out the whole page....now I have a blank page. Man, I cant believe it!!!!
  10. Thanks for answering, Carrie Yes, I tried all that but all I get is the actual code showing up on the webpage. I use the you create it splash page, and wonder if thats something to do with it? I know its a simple thing to do, but just have no luck adding these darn codes. Driving me crazy. Maybe I should try one of the other splash pages......
  11. I dont know if I am just thick or what, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add the codes that I cut and paste to add the Bravenet counter and newsletter items to my website. I have DIYestores. I can cut and paste, but how do I add it to the website to make it look like it should and not show up as the html codes ??? Help please !
  12. I am trying to use up my straight-sided regular votive holders as little container candles. I have 464 wax. Does anyone use these? The melt pool is very big when way at the bottom, tried a CD5 but I guess this is normal since it is so small. ?!?!
  13. I am closer to the west coast as well and recently I saw that Candle Soylutions sells cottonseed, so wonder if we just add that to 415 would it be close to the Bluegrass with cottonseed or KY 125 ?
  14. I have been wondering this as well....havent found anyone so far. Wish Peak's would carry it......hint hint
  15. I would like to include this FO in my selection of candles for a Breast Cancer fundraiser, but would like to change the name to something more feminine. I have the worst imagination for this kind of thing. Has anyone changed the name of the Baby Powder or have any suggestions. Kathy
  16. YAY!!! and finally got an email that was sent 13 hours ago !!!
  17. Anyone having trouble with their DIYestores website this morning? I cant even bring up their website. I do notice that also sometimes its very slow when loading my website. Anyone else have this problem. Never sure if its the website or just my computer ! Kathy
  18. I have a question for those of you who make gift baskets. Does anyone buy them wholesale online? I know I have read that some people get them locally from Michael's and such when they have a sale, but was just wondering how it works out with the extra cost of having them shipped. I did find Creative Packaging and they have some nice ones there. Kathy
  19. I wonder if this scent is maybe the problem......I love the Asian Amber but with a couple of different waxes, jars and wicks I still get a small flame. Anyone had success with this scent in any of the soy waxes ?
  20. I have a question for those of you who sell candles with this logo. I am hoping to make some of these sometime this year so that I can make donations from the proceeds. Do you have to get permission to use their logo on your candles or soaps? I mean to use the pink ribbon only.... Thanks Kathy
  21. They were some of the first wicks I bought when I first started testing....still testing by the way . I bought them because I liked the idea of hemp. Its been a while since I tried them, and since then have gone through several other waxes, wicks and FO, so kinda forget why I didnt like them...maybe mushrooms and maybe flames too big at that time. I have learnt a lot of whys and hows since then, just never got around to retesting them......
  22. Not sure where else you can buy them, but I do have about 80 each of the 1400 and 6004-8 that I bought from NG a while back, but I dont use them and you are welcome to buy them if interested. Kathy
  23. I have a question for those of you who use any of the soy waxes in those big heart-shaped dishes from W****rt. Do you get a melt pool to reach all the sides? I have tested a couple with different wicks and even getting a nice flame, sometimes too big for my liking, it still did not reach the sides completely till after several burns and almost to the bottom. I am thinking this may be ok, as otherwise it would be too hot???? Kathy
  24. I got an email from you as well and thought, oh oh another one LOL but at least you are legit
