  1. What is the cost comparison between printing labels your self vs having someone do them.
  2. Well maybe.... The one I had the "cd5" in was almost gone and I go to touch it to see how hot it was and man, the votive holder burned my fingers it was so hot. So I am going to try a cd 4 and see what happens.
  3. ugh.. I got a sample pack of cd wicks from candles and supplies. I put a cd 6 in one votive which it was struggling to keep up until almost the end. I put a cd 5 in another votive and it did perfect. Nice HT, no mushroom etc... Could this be right or did they label these wicks backwards I am wondering...
  4. I like that Idea. Do you test every scent with every different color?
  5. Do you test any of your candles that are colored? Doesn't color clog the wick a little?
  6. Where do I find said chart about the wicks? ok, I found a chart on wicks unlimited, according to that the cd 14 is bigger than the cd 12....unless I am reading the chart wrong.
  7. I thought I put my wax in there, apparently I didn't... I am using 415.. isn't 415 and 444 similar?
  8. I have tried searching color vs color, no color, do you color your candles..I come up with nothing, Is there a advantage to coloring vs not coloring you candles as far as a selling point? Do you give the option to color if you don't? is wicking easier with no color?
  9. Ok, maybe I need to start again or something. I have been trying a cd14 in my mason jars. ( rose, cotton candy, warm apple pie.) and it is not reaching a full melt pool after 6 hours. ( two different burns) I am getting an ok HT but.. I thought it would catch up but it is not. Should I try a cd 16? Does that not seem big? I am loosing my mind here
  10. GB415 wax, adding FO at around 190 degrees at 9%. Have tried Cotton wicks, and htp's and a cd12.
  11. It has cured for two weeks now. I am at around 8 or 9%. Gosh, do I really need to try another wick series(csn)..I have so many wicks right now that don't work I just don't know what to do with. I am going to try a cd14 tonight and see what that does..
  12. Maybe i just neee to try anothers lavender. i been testing cs lavender. i cant get a hot throw atat all. however as soon as i blow a wick out i can smell it pretty good. i just dont know. trief a few different wicks. Whos lavender do you use.
  13. I am not using the square mason jar. Just the regular round ones. Would a cd 10 or 12 be too big for those.
  14. Thanks for replying. I order a sample pack of CDs's and some htp 105's. I tried a htp 104 in one of them, it seemed to throw more, but I think the 104 is too small. Hoping the htp105 is a little better.
  15. Well I thought I was on the right track with gb415. I poured several 2 1/2" mason jars a few weeks ago. I have been testing them this weekend. I poured 6oz wax with .6oz of FO. I am using C85 wick. The wick seems to be doing good, except for couple of them, the wick is producing black smoke around the 2 hour mark. If it doesn't give a full MP on the first burn, it catches up on the second. Problem is, the HT is not that great in most of them I have tried. I have the following FO that I have been testing. ~~ Lilac = scent throw is good ~~ Lavender = can't really smell anything except up close ~~ Love Spell = again, not much of a HT ~~ Cotton Candy = kind of ok ~~ Warm apple pie = good in my small bathroom Should I be upping the FO % ? Is it the wick? I tried a HTP 104 in one of them and it didn't work. ( that is the only htp I have) I am a little concern because I thought this was it and I ordered a case from candlescience. Any suggestions before its too late to cancel my order from CS...
  16. Some of their prices are still higher than CS . so still cost more
  17. I think you should be able to see through it. I believe You will feel a waxy residue though.
  18. Did you try to use a metal stirring rod? Just thinking what would be easy to stir around the wick. Other than a possible mess, is there any other reason not to?
  19. Would there be anything wrong with pouring and mixing right in the jar you are going to use? Please educate me if there is..
  20. I got Fresh coffee from CS. Smells great OOB and cold. But I can not get a hot throw at all. Not in soy or parafin. Has any one else tried this oil?
  21. I work in a restaurant. We get cherries in a gallon jug. I look on the bottom and it is a #5 PP. This means its polypro right. ( from all info I ready it is) And polypro is what we need to store candles in right?
  22. Something to ponder. I order from C&S and Candlescience on the same day. I live in NY, They both arrive on the same day..
  23. Any one use these guys, I can't find any search info on them? http://www.candlesandsupplies.net/ They are only 3 hours away from me, so a day trip and/or cheaper shipping.
