  1. They used to be 'tc laboratories'. I've tried a bunch of samples and they all have a strong sweet/sour base smell. I'm not sure what it is, but bothers me enough not to buy from them for creams/lotions.
  2. Thank you all so much! That is why I love this board, you gals rock!
  3. Thanks, I'm looking to test out a few more natural fragrancing systems. Any great suppliers you rec?
  4. Hi everyone, I made some lotion bars using various recipes. they all worked well but I'm getting 'craters' or holes in the tops. As it cools they form. Any trick to avoid these? How do I keep them from forming as they set up?
  5. My recipe was similar but had Beeswax, which made it even tackier!
  6. Does any company ever make an organic soy wax?
  7. For the turkey fryer, is there just basically one brand/model people use or many types? The masterbuilt digital stainless steel? Does this heat up evenly and not too hot for soy? And . . .silly question . . .but the hot oil drain spout is where you pour the wax out from in the turkey fryer, right?
  8. I need to start melting much larger batches of my 100% soy wax. Is the presto pot the best next step? If so, best place to purchase a converted one? Or should I spend for a real commercial model?
  9. Vanilla is tough, I must own 50+. I think 'vanilla bean' scents are usually the plainest. Aromehaven's is good but light.
  10. Yay! Thanks girls, you are awesome! Whew, you know you buy too much supplies when you start forgetting where they even came from!
  11. I had bought some, copper plastic cap, tiny glass bottle, sprayer, 1.5ml. No clue now where I bought it, lol! Any ideas?
  12. Not dupes though, but good scents for a man? Thanks!
  13. Glass, plastic, doesn't matter I just need 16oz bottles ASAP I can buy locally for holding FO blends. I'm thinking like target maybe? Walmart? Any ideas?
  14. I'm used to buying my sticks off Venice Blvd wrapped in tin foil, am I buying the wood style ones? Which stick has less of a scent and lets the FO shine thrrough? Is wood or charcoal easier to work with? Also DPG, best site for some?
  15. Is there anything besides dye that can be used? What about micas or something like that?
  16. Um, maybe I misinterpreted, Jami said she used 40% oils and my recipe only had 25% oils. To me, that sure sounds like 'add more oils'.
  17. But it smells so yummy, lol!!!! Thanks guys, I'll try more oils!
  18. I followed a recipe on the forums, basical 6oz shea, 6oz cocoa, 4oz oils. I whipped it up and it was amazing, but after a few days in a jar, it has hardened, it takes effort to get it out and to melt in in your hands before applying. I want it to stay creamier and softer. Should I add more oil or a different ingredient to it?
  19. Was wondering how their bases were! Thanks!
  20. I'm doing a co-op to split the 16oz bottles right now, since 8oz for 2.50 is perfect for me to test!
  21. Thanks Penny! I read about some powder Snowdrift sells that might do the trick too!
  22. Thanks for this recipe! I tried it, this was my first ever attempt to a butter! I like the results, I used 2oz FCO and 2oz Jojoba and mixed in my KA. I had refined shea and non deod cocoa. It is a bit greasy, is it always like this? Anyway to cut down on the grease feeling? Also, what preservative would be good in this? Is Vit E enough or maybe something stronger? It made way more than I can use up quickly on myself!
